  • THIRD TIME

"Third time here and will be back again. Owner is super easy to work with and the condo is updated with quality items. Nice satelite selection and HD tv in living room and bedroom. Cannot go wrong here for the price. You do get some slight noise from the highway when outside but I have no idea what the one reviewer was talking about. Super comfortable king bed that we slept great on. Owner let us check out late as he was open the next day. Wifi works great and the owner responds very quickly to any questions. Great area for surfings and no vendors on the beach. Very close to San Jose and all it's great restaurants."

  • Great spring break with the kids.

"We really enjoyed staying in The Villas de Cortez, they are very clean and cute. Everyone is so nice and Pedro (the Villas manager) is a gem. We were very impressed with the Bay View restaurant at the hotel. They cooked up our Mahi with three different seasonings and it was truly delicious. Our two boys, ages 8 and 9, were never bored and had a great time at the resort's many pools and the beach in front of the hotel. We saw and heard the mobula rays quite a few times in front of the hotel which was a special treat. The location of the unit is nice with a fully functioning elevator available as needed. I would highly recommend this rental."

  • Perfect get away

"My wife and I spent a full week in this wonderful apartment. It is a great setting, world class furnishings and decor and equiped with every thing one needs to make it feel as home. We found 3 terrific pools and a fantastic beach on the Sea of Cortez. The restarurants serve excellent food with very good service with the added feature of opoen views of the beach and sea. Simply spectacular. Highly recommend this unit for any one that wants to be indulged!"

  • Great stay in Terrasol

"We recently spent a week at Terrasol. We thoroughly enjoyed the location and unit. The location is great if you don't have a car. It is an easy walk to the marina areas which is filled with great places to eat. We decided not to cook for ourselves this trip so didn't need a lot of groceries but were able to get breakfast and lunch type food at the store in the Playa Granda (next door), at the OXXO at the bottom of the hill and from the California Ranch Market (natural food store) across the road from the Wyndham hotel. The unit has a great view of the ocean from the balcony and is a short walk to the heated pool. The Terreasol staff was very friendly and helpful. The hot water in the unit was not working the day we arrived. The staff responded as soon as we called and had a new part installed as soon as possible the next day. We had no issues with the water after that. The unit was well stocked with paper products, dish soap, laundry soap and kitchen basics like coffee filters and plastic bags. The WIFI in the unit worked great and was very fast. The pool WIFI was less reliable, slow at times and needed to be reset several times while we were there. The complex and surrounding area are very safe. There are no vendors on the beach and it felt safe to walk the beach any time of the day. The complex faces directly south so you see the sun from sunrise to sunset (both are great to watch from the Terrasol beach chairs). The pool is not too crowded and everyone we met were friendly. I particularly thought the owners that were there were very friendly even to those us of just renting for the week. Mario and his crew at the pool bar are great. They knew our names and unit numbers by day 2. It is a great place for both breakfast, lunch and of course afternoon cocktails! Terrasol is a very low key place so if you are looking for a party scene, this is not the place (although the party boats were parked of the shore a few different nights and the music played until 4:00am!) We didn't have a bad meal at any restaurant we tried. If you want an upscale dinner close by, try La Roca next door at the Grand Solmar. They have special menus several nights of the week so check before you go. It is a short walk on the beach but much longer if you take the road. Other place we enjoyed in the marina area were La Dolce (Italian just outside the marina); Captian Tony's (pizza in marina); Dos Mares (seafood at the marina at the shopping mall end)."

Baja California Sur Travel Tips

Family Fun at Baja California Sur Vacation Rentals

Baja California Sur is a great family destination. The vacation homes available vary in size and some can accommodate up to 16 people. This means that you can enjoy a vacation with your siblings and their extended families, and have a whale of a time enjoying the beaches and other activities together. There are a number of well-known resort towns along the coast and many vacation rentals available in each town. Some of the more well-known vacation areas include Todos Santos, San Jose Del Cabo, Tortuga, La Paz, and La Ribera. Favorite activities include fishing and golf, although there are plenty of other activities to keep the kids occupied. The beaches are great for building sandcastles, although the sea can sometimes be a bit too rough for swimming. Many of the vacation homes have swimming pools where you can cool off from the Mexican heat.

Seasons to Visit Baja California Sur Beach Houses

Baja California Sur enjoys a year-round hot climate. For some people, the summer months of June through August may be a bit too extreme but still many families come to enjoy their vacations during this time of year. Possibly the better time to visit is December through April when the weather is slightly milder and temperatures aren’t quite as hot. You can still enjoy warm sunshine each day and if the evenings get a bit chilly, you can always light up the fireplace to keep warm.

Luxury and Comfort at Baja California Sur Resorts

You can enjoy sweeping views of the Sea of Cortez from the bedroom of your vacation villa. Wake up each morning with the sea peaking over the water and glistening in the early dawn. Large shaded decks provide the ideal place to enjoy meals and socialize with family and friends. Take a batch of your favorite books and enjoy reading in a hammock while the warm breeze blows overhead. If you enjoy watching the waves, you may be fortunate to spot whales, dolphins or rays playing in the waves below. You will find that most villas are extremely spacious with multiple dining and living areas suitable for groups vacationing together. Modern and well-equipped kitchens make holiday catering easy. Some villas offer the services of a cook or house manager who will take care of groceries and preparing meals upon request. Bedrooms have ceiling fans or air conditioners to provide respite from the heat. This means that you are able to enjoy the warm climate without feeling discomfort.

Things to See and Do near Baja California Sur Vacation Rentals

One of the favorite activities on the Baja California Sur peninsula is fishing. Often, you can fish from the beach right outside your vacation home which negates the need to get in your car and travel anywhere. If you would like to head out and try to catch some of the big game fish such as marlin, tuna, dorado or wahoo then it’s best to join a fishing charter. The boats go out daily from the local marinas and are crewed by professional skippers that know where to find the fish. Be sure to take a wide-brimmed hat and loads of sunscreen, otherwise you may come back looking like a lobster yourself. There are several luxury health spas in the region where you can enjoy some pampering treatments and beauty therapy. This is an ideal way to spend your day when your spouse heads to one of the top-quality golf courses in the area.
