  • Peaceful location

"A unique location, on a sand spit, a short boat ride away from the hustle and bustle of La Paz. Transportation to, from and within the property was easy to coordinate, efficient and included in the rent. The condo was lovely and well equipped, but it was the view that was so amazingly peaceful; looking along the beach and out to sea. We could sit on the balcony every evening, watching the sunset and the dolphins swimming by. We ate at the pool bar a couple of times and were impressed both times. We will definitely return."

  • Celebrity Rock Star Status ALL THE WAY!

"Well what can I say other than we felt treated like celebrity rock stars the entire 3 days that we stayed here- What I mean by that is there was no one around to bother us UNLESS we needed something & THEN they were right there with whatever we needed immediately- The condo & all of it 's appointments is spectacular, the view unmatched, & the serenity incredible- We come down to Cabo San Lucas for a week every year & last year we stayed up the beach at the Cerritos Surf Colony for 1 night- It was ok but the PEARL that day was when we took a walk up the pristine beach & found Sol Pacifico Cerritos- After some investigation we made contact with the owners Austin & Kelly, who could not be nicer people, & decided to pull the trigger & stay an extra 3 days this year at their place- WOW, We are SO glad we did as this place is just amazing! We trekked up to Todo Santos on day & stopped & had pizza on our way back at La Mozzeralla, whose family owns the blanket factory just up the road, we stopped & bought a hand-woven hammock, we trekked around some back roads, but MOSTLY just stayed at Sol Pacifico Cerritos & enjoyed all of the amenities it offers- Great pools, hot tubs, etc. & a GREAT restaurant! After meeting Chef Antonio we ended up eating lunch there the 1st day & dinner there ALL 3 nights as his cooking is simply amazing- Black Snook the 1st night, Parrot Fish the 2nd, & grilled Lamb Chops & Pineapple Prawns the 3rd, each night with amazing salads & even a fresh made coconut flan, MUCHO GRACIAS ANTONIO! So do I sound like we had a good time yet? WELL, THEN WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR, BOOK THIS PLACE NOW because we already did to extend our trip again next year! MUCHO GRACIAS Austin & Kelly!"

  • Great Vacation, Great Condo

"This is a fantastic place to vacation! Los Barriles is a delightful town. The views from the condo are amazing! Be sure to get up early and see the sunrise. The condo is beautiful and the owner had just left and upgraded the bedding and other items in the unit. Everything was just perfect for our vacation. Everybody was so friendly and the water sports are thrilling. Kite surfing to fishing and everything in between... I would suggest going to the restaurant, Bayview, which is very close to the condo. The shrimp tacos are fantastic! But, they were good everywhere in town... Villa De Cortez is the best place to stay. It is a wonderful condo with resort-type living. We are sure we will be making another reservation soon!"

  • Definitely, the best house on the street

"This house is pretty with lovely spaces and a central location. For some, the location may also be its downfall. The area is very noisy at night, particularly weekends, with competing music and street noise from nearby restaurants, bars and nightclubs. If you want nightlife or sleep like a log it may be just the place for you. The house is professionally run and this may be why it was different that other VRBO homes we have enjoyed. The manager met us at the house which was very kind as we were couldn’t predict our arrival time. She provided a package of information that included an exhaustive inventory of everything inside (and I think at the front entrance) the house that could possibly be removed even with a screwdriver. There is no phone, despite the VRBO listing. There was none of the customary information re restaurant recommendations etc but the manager did suggest a grocery store close by. Maps of central La Paz were provided. Fortunately the house had wifi and it worked perfectly. While well outfitted in terms of kitchen equipment and linens, there wasn’t even salt/pepper. There was a small supply of diluted dish soap, but only a small natural sponge to wash the dishes. Two one-litre bottles of drinking water were provided: The instructions advised not to drink tap water. Consequently, we had to stock the kitchen from scratch. I don’t expect a lot of supplies, but I have never been in a VRBO rental where the water was not potable and an ongoing supply of drinking water was not provided. In fairness, the listing does not include drinking water. I’m sure that past renters have left supplies, but the policy of this rental is to clean everything out. The manager was often unresponsive or slow to respond to questions. We had to follow up to get our deposit returned and then it was not sent as indicated thus costing us additional fees. The photos are accurate. The 3rd bedroom is off the courtyard and quieter than the other bedrooms, but it has a strangely short and uncomfortable bed. The other beds were great. The house has a well-furnished living room. The pool is a plunge pool, but is heated and lovely. There is exclusive street parking which was respected except one evening. If you rent, a tip to get hot water: the hot water is on demand and the batteries that provide the spark to light the propane water heaters corrode a quite quickly, inhibiting the ability to light the propane. Just spin the batteries in place and you will likely have hot water."

Baja California Sur Travel Tips

Family Fun at Baja California Sur Vacation Rentals

Baja California Sur is a great family destination. The vacation homes available vary in size and some can accommodate up to 16 people. This means that you can enjoy a vacation with your siblings and their extended families, and have a whale of a time enjoying the beaches and other activities together. There are a number of well-known resort towns along the coast and many vacation rentals available in each town. Some of the more well-known vacation areas include Todos Santos, San Jose Del Cabo, Tortuga, La Paz, and La Ribera. Favorite activities include fishing and golf, although there are plenty of other activities to keep the kids occupied. The beaches are great for building sandcastles, although the sea can sometimes be a bit too rough for swimming. Many of the vacation homes have swimming pools where you can cool off from the Mexican heat.

Seasons to Visit Baja California Sur Beach Houses

Baja California Sur enjoys a year-round hot climate. For some people, the summer months of June through August may be a bit too extreme but still many families come to enjoy their vacations during this time of year. Possibly the better time to visit is December through April when the weather is slightly milder and temperatures aren’t quite as hot. You can still enjoy warm sunshine each day and if the evenings get a bit chilly, you can always light up the fireplace to keep warm.

Luxury and Comfort at Baja California Sur Resorts

You can enjoy sweeping views of the Sea of Cortez from the bedroom of your vacation villa. Wake up each morning with the sea peaking over the water and glistening in the early dawn. Large shaded decks provide the ideal place to enjoy meals and socialize with family and friends. Take a batch of your favorite books and enjoy reading in a hammock while the warm breeze blows overhead. If you enjoy watching the waves, you may be fortunate to spot whales, dolphins or rays playing in the waves below. You will find that most villas are extremely spacious with multiple dining and living areas suitable for groups vacationing together. Modern and well-equipped kitchens make holiday catering easy. Some villas offer the services of a cook or house manager who will take care of groceries and preparing meals upon request. Bedrooms have ceiling fans or air conditioners to provide respite from the heat. This means that you are able to enjoy the warm climate without feeling discomfort.

Things to See and Do near Baja California Sur Vacation Rentals

One of the favorite activities on the Baja California Sur peninsula is fishing. Often, you can fish from the beach right outside your vacation home which negates the need to get in your car and travel anywhere. If you would like to head out and try to catch some of the big game fish such as marlin, tuna, dorado or wahoo then it’s best to join a fishing charter. The boats go out daily from the local marinas and are crewed by professional skippers that know where to find the fish. Be sure to take a wide-brimmed hat and loads of sunscreen, otherwise you may come back looking like a lobster yourself. There are several luxury health spas in the region where you can enjoy some pampering treatments and beauty therapy. This is an ideal way to spend your day when your spouse heads to one of the top-quality golf courses in the area.
