  • An Amazing Family Reunioin _ Best Ever!

"I don't even know how to start writing about what an amazing time we spent at Casa Cardonal! My Mom had a stroke two years ago and was diagnosed with vascular dementia with a terminal diagnosis. Our family wanted to celebrate with her one last time. We wanted a sanctuary to soak in all the love we have for her. We were a family of 9 people and the staff at Casa Cardonal quickly became part of our family. Octavio the driver picked us up and immediately took care of all our needs. Mom was in a wheelchair and the Casa was perfect for her to get around in. Francesca had a Mexican buffet waiting for us when we arrived. It was the best food we have ever experienced in Mexico. Maria tended to all our needs and kept the house spotless. We ate all meals there and each one was fantastic and different! Mino took us out fishing and we caught our limit in Dorado and trigger fish for ceviche. Octavio took us to Cabo for the day and it was perfect in every way! He arranged for shopping, water taxi's and we stopped for lunch at a spot for sushi that was the best we have ever had! even stopped for fresh coconuts that we sipped and then snacked on the way back to the Casa. We lit lanterns off the beach in memory of past loved ones and wishes for Mom. Francesca made the most amazing birthday cake and we celebrated my sisters birthday. It was all like a dream come true. I cannot say enough kind words about this place and the people there. We were never bored! swimming Jacuzzi massages Kayaks snorkeling fishing ping pong shuffle boards paddle boards and a car to take into town for snacks and groceries! Thank you Mike for allowing us to stay at your home. It was truly perfect in every way. We feel blessed and honored to have had such an amazing trip!"

  • Perfect home for 3 couples

"We rented the whole house for a week with 2 other couples (ages 30-40). Beautiful home, great location, plenty of space. We were luck enough to get the master bedroom/bath. Woke up every morning with the sunrise on our small balcony. Then, either drank coffee on the rooftop deck or on the beach - house is one house away from the beach. The two other couples each had their own rooms and shared a bathroom. The kitchen/dining/living area is separate, so if some wanted to stay up later, the noise was minimal. We spent a lot of time on the rooftop deck in the am and pm. Just a few doors down is the Hotel Spa Buena Vista. Supposedly they have recently started charging $10/day to hang out there, but we were never charged. Just walked in, ordered a drink and snacks... Although, we did not spend much time there. Spent some quality time on the beach and drove a couple times down to 9 Palms (1.5 hours on a mostly dirt road - conditions vary - only one flat tire) to surf. Great spot for intermediate/beginners, depending upon the swell of course. The house is a few miles from Los Barriles, where you pretty much have to go for groceries and dining. We rented a car for the week and it worked out great. Not sure about the bus schedule. Jeff is easy and accommodating. His paddle board was recently broken - not sure if he is going to replace - but you can rent paddle boards in town as well."

Baja California Sur Travel Tips

Family Fun at Baja California Sur Vacation Rentals

Baja California Sur is a great family destination. The vacation homes available vary in size and some can accommodate up to 16 people. This means that you can enjoy a vacation with your siblings and their extended families, and have a whale of a time enjoying the beaches and other activities together. There are a number of well-known resort towns along the coast and many vacation rentals available in each town. Some of the more well-known vacation areas include Todos Santos, San Jose Del Cabo, Tortuga, La Paz, and La Ribera. Favorite activities include fishing and golf, although there are plenty of other activities to keep the kids occupied. The beaches are great for building sandcastles, although the sea can sometimes be a bit too rough for swimming. Many of the vacation homes have swimming pools where you can cool off from the Mexican heat.

Seasons to Visit Baja California Sur Beach Houses

Baja California Sur enjoys a year-round hot climate. For some people, the summer months of June through August may be a bit too extreme but still many families come to enjoy their vacations during this time of year. Possibly the better time to visit is December through April when the weather is slightly milder and temperatures aren’t quite as hot. You can still enjoy warm sunshine each day and if the evenings get a bit chilly, you can always light up the fireplace to keep warm.

Luxury and Comfort at Baja California Sur Resorts

You can enjoy sweeping views of the Sea of Cortez from the bedroom of your vacation villa. Wake up each morning with the sea peaking over the water and glistening in the early dawn. Large shaded decks provide the ideal place to enjoy meals and socialize with family and friends. Take a batch of your favorite books and enjoy reading in a hammock while the warm breeze blows overhead. If you enjoy watching the waves, you may be fortunate to spot whales, dolphins or rays playing in the waves below. You will find that most villas are extremely spacious with multiple dining and living areas suitable for groups vacationing together. Modern and well-equipped kitchens make holiday catering easy. Some villas offer the services of a cook or house manager who will take care of groceries and preparing meals upon request. Bedrooms have ceiling fans or air conditioners to provide respite from the heat. This means that you are able to enjoy the warm climate without feeling discomfort.

Things to See and Do near Baja California Sur Vacation Rentals

One of the favorite activities on the Baja California Sur peninsula is fishing. Often, you can fish from the beach right outside your vacation home which negates the need to get in your car and travel anywhere. If you would like to head out and try to catch some of the big game fish such as marlin, tuna, dorado or wahoo then it’s best to join a fishing charter. The boats go out daily from the local marinas and are crewed by professional skippers that know where to find the fish. Be sure to take a wide-brimmed hat and loads of sunscreen, otherwise you may come back looking like a lobster yourself. There are several luxury health spas in the region where you can enjoy some pampering treatments and beauty therapy. This is an ideal way to spend your day when your spouse heads to one of the top-quality golf courses in the area.
