  • The Best Vacation Ever!

"Casa Esperanza is truly magical. The pictures just don’t do it justice. From the moment you walk in you feel like you are on vacation. The view is incredible, you can see whales breaching right from the patio while sipping your morning coffee or evening cocktail. As soon as we arrived the little ones were playing in the pool –perfect for all ages with zero entry for the little ones and enough space for the older kids & adults to swim all day. An extra bonus swim up bar so they don’t even have to get out for food or drinks. Baruch arranged a delicious Mexican meal to be cooked at the house upon arrival, had the kitchen pre-stocked for us, and massages outside at sunset with the ocean breeze and sound of crashing waves. So great that we had the chef & masseuse come back a second time during our visit. A perfect way to start our relaxing vacation before falling asleep in the heavenly beds. Everything about our visit was perfection. We specifically loved access to the Esperanza resort amenities – nearby Punta Ballena Beach Club is a short 5 min walk or golf cart ride away with breathtaking views of waves crashing on the rocks and Lands End in the background. We ventured there for morning workouts at the gym or early afternoon drinks and dinner while the kids played in the pool. We also took advantage of Las Estrellas which is a 10 min walk away. They have great daily work out classes (yoga with Blanca was a favorite), and delicious breakfast. We spent several days and relaxed by the giant pools while the kids swam and did the kids club from 11am – 1pm (incl. piñata party, stand up paddleboard, blow up waterslide & water balloon fight). At night we enjoyed roasting marshmallows back at our fire pit and had wonderful dinners out arranged by Baruch (Sunset Da Mona Lisa & El Farrallon). If you need a babysitting service, Diana of BajaBabysitting, is responsible, conscientious, and the kids loved her! And Rosie is an absolute gem – she took care of all of us by keeping the house clean & comfortable. All around this is one of the best vacations we’ve ever had and we’re ready to book our return trip."

  • perfect for solo traveler

"Whales and snorkeling in February at the casita . . . perfecto! The casita was lovely, with a beautiful view, cool breeze and terrific beach. Surf was too big for swimming from the casita but there's a nice inlet just up the coast. Snorkeling and whale watching at Cabo Pulmo were the highlights. Dawn gives great recommendations, too!"

  • What a place

"This gorgeous villa was the perfect place for our "girls getaway" and most vacations actually. The openness and luxury is what first caught my eye, then I noticed the accessories - also of high quality. The house, pool and sea are fabulous! As we checked out the activities and toys, I thought I would stay by the gorgeous pool and beach everyday.Yet going into town and the surrounds was almost as appealing. I love that the area has an uncommercial, old-world feeling yet we had modern conveniences and amenities. Highlights: comfort of the house; the ocean/pool views from almost every window;seeing the tropical fish while snorkeling in front; showering in the MX tiled bathroom; walking along the beach into town; lunches at El Viejos; dinner made in-house by Norma; yoga on the upstairs patio; margaritas on the mosquito free patio in the evenings; day trips to local resorts;excellent beds and linens; morning internet time grateful for a fast connection to list a few."

  • Wonderful Experience in Cabo

"My stock request for accommodation asked about the availability of condos. Steve the owner replied it is house not a condo. It is indeed a wonderful detached house and Steve was the consummate host both prior to our departure and even while we were there. He even facilitated a poolside massage on my wife's birthday. The house is perfect for a vacation, the private pool with outdoor speakers really makes it special as do the views over the Sea of Cortez (we saw whales most days and even a pod of dolphins). One feels secure, the beach access and the access to the small group of houses is gated. It is located on 'corridor' between two extremes of Cabo San Lucas (party town), and Cabo San Jose (quiet family town) town with easy access to either. We rented a car which made life a lot easier. Both bedrooms and living room have amazing views, the kitchen is well equipped and we grilled on the outside barbecue if we didn't eat out. If you rent this accommodation, and I would recommend it to anyone, don't forget to ask Steve to share his local knowledge email!"

Baja California Sur Travel Tips

Family Fun at Baja California Sur Vacation Rentals

Baja California Sur is a great family destination. The vacation homes available vary in size and some can accommodate up to 16 people. This means that you can enjoy a vacation with your siblings and their extended families, and have a whale of a time enjoying the beaches and other activities together. There are a number of well-known resort towns along the coast and many vacation rentals available in each town. Some of the more well-known vacation areas include Todos Santos, San Jose Del Cabo, Tortuga, La Paz, and La Ribera. Favorite activities include fishing and golf, although there are plenty of other activities to keep the kids occupied. The beaches are great for building sandcastles, although the sea can sometimes be a bit too rough for swimming. Many of the vacation homes have swimming pools where you can cool off from the Mexican heat.

Seasons to Visit Baja California Sur Beach Houses

Baja California Sur enjoys a year-round hot climate. For some people, the summer months of June through August may be a bit too extreme but still many families come to enjoy their vacations during this time of year. Possibly the better time to visit is December through April when the weather is slightly milder and temperatures aren’t quite as hot. You can still enjoy warm sunshine each day and if the evenings get a bit chilly, you can always light up the fireplace to keep warm.

Luxury and Comfort at Baja California Sur Resorts

You can enjoy sweeping views of the Sea of Cortez from the bedroom of your vacation villa. Wake up each morning with the sea peaking over the water and glistening in the early dawn. Large shaded decks provide the ideal place to enjoy meals and socialize with family and friends. Take a batch of your favorite books and enjoy reading in a hammock while the warm breeze blows overhead. If you enjoy watching the waves, you may be fortunate to spot whales, dolphins or rays playing in the waves below. You will find that most villas are extremely spacious with multiple dining and living areas suitable for groups vacationing together. Modern and well-equipped kitchens make holiday catering easy. Some villas offer the services of a cook or house manager who will take care of groceries and preparing meals upon request. Bedrooms have ceiling fans or air conditioners to provide respite from the heat. This means that you are able to enjoy the warm climate without feeling discomfort.

Things to See and Do near Baja California Sur Vacation Rentals

One of the favorite activities on the Baja California Sur peninsula is fishing. Often, you can fish from the beach right outside your vacation home which negates the need to get in your car and travel anywhere. If you would like to head out and try to catch some of the big game fish such as marlin, tuna, dorado or wahoo then it’s best to join a fishing charter. The boats go out daily from the local marinas and are crewed by professional skippers that know where to find the fish. Be sure to take a wide-brimmed hat and loads of sunscreen, otherwise you may come back looking like a lobster yourself. There are several luxury health spas in the region where you can enjoy some pampering treatments and beauty therapy. This is an ideal way to spend your day when your spouse heads to one of the top-quality golf courses in the area.
