  • Feels like home

"My husband and I have stayed here twice and love it. We will be going back this summer. The whole family is so nice. Josh will do whatever to make sure your stay is comfortable. Example: Due to a snow storm in Atlanta we HAD to delay our trip for a few days, so Josh loaned us a cooler, beach umbrella and beach towels so we could just chill on the beach. If you have a car you can find lots to do in the area. His wife, Patty is an excellent cook and dinner there is very special. Highly recommended. If you are up for an adventure you can find lots to do in the area."

  • Another relaxing Baja getaway

"We have stayed at this beautiful beachfront home 3 times now, and we always know we will come away relaxed, refreshed and with a deeper appreciation of Baja California and all it's splendor! The home is very well maintained, and has plenty of room for our family. The kids love going to the beach, which is literally a few steps from the front door. The pools are very well maintained and the community is very safe. There are great places to eat and shop down the main "street" of the community. You can be as "plugged in" or as "unplugged" as you want to be. There is a wonderful BBQ area on the 2nd level with beautiful water views. Stargazing at night on the 3rd story deck is a favorite memory. We have driven from San Diego to Loreto each time and never tire of the scenery. The people of Loreto are friendly, there is plenty to do by way of kayak, snorkeling, hiking, swimming, golf, etc; Whatever you choose to do, even if it is nothing, there is no better place than Loreto!"

  • Want to Return

"My wife and I stayed at Casa Verde for a month Feb/March 2014. We had a GREAT time. The house is in an excellent location, views outstanding, quiet ,& very comfortable. The views are mesmerizing. Whales were often visible. The roof top deck was a great place to relax, read a book, take in the views, or take a nap. The photos on VRBO don't do justice to the property. The living area and patio are very nice. The bed very comfortable. The kitchen was good sized & well stocked with most things needed. In fact we cooked most of our meals during our stay. The Internet service at the home was fast and stable. There is no TV at the house which was just fine with us. We were comfortable at the house. It felt like we were staying at the home of a good friend. The property is in a location that is nicely quiet. The bird feeder was always busy with an amazing variety of birds. We even saw a grey fox climb a tree just on other side of the fence. There was a herd of goats that came by the fence line almost daily which were entertaining to watch. Casa Verde is about 2.5 miles from town. It is a bit far to walk into town but makes for an easy drive or bike ride. There are many restaurants, a good tortilleria, and decent grocery. If you don't go out to catch your own fish, a man selling good fresh seafood from a truck came by every Tuesday. We speak some Spanish but Los Barriles would an easy place to go for non-Spanish speakers. Good biking is available right from the house. We were surprised at how many bicyclists were out every morning riding up the paved road that goes up the hills nearby. Jogging up the dirt road north from the house was excellent. We often saw whales breaching as we enjoyed our morning jog along the shoreline at sunrise. Fantastic. We brought our own inflatable kayaks with us. We could carry our kayaks a few hundred yards down the wash to launch or there is another place maybe a quarter mile walk/drive down the road to launch hard shell kayaks. The kayaking can be fantastic. Whales, dolphins, jumping rays were often just offshore so on a good day you might have some exciting company. Snorkeling is good at the beach near the house. The best snorkeling is a 15 minute drive north at the Punta Pescadero beach. The snorkeling off the rocks in front of the Punta Pescadero hotel was just as good as at the Cabo Plumo marine park an hour south. When we return to Los Barriles we would love to stay at Casa Verde again."

Baja California Sur Travel Tips

Family Fun at Baja California Sur Vacation Rentals

Baja California Sur is a great family destination. The vacation homes available vary in size and some can accommodate up to 16 people. This means that you can enjoy a vacation with your siblings and their extended families, and have a whale of a time enjoying the beaches and other activities together. There are a number of well-known resort towns along the coast and many vacation rentals available in each town. Some of the more well-known vacation areas include Todos Santos, San Jose Del Cabo, Tortuga, La Paz, and La Ribera. Favorite activities include fishing and golf, although there are plenty of other activities to keep the kids occupied. The beaches are great for building sandcastles, although the sea can sometimes be a bit too rough for swimming. Many of the vacation homes have swimming pools where you can cool off from the Mexican heat.

Seasons to Visit Baja California Sur Beach Houses

Baja California Sur enjoys a year-round hot climate. For some people, the summer months of June through August may be a bit too extreme but still many families come to enjoy their vacations during this time of year. Possibly the better time to visit is December through April when the weather is slightly milder and temperatures aren’t quite as hot. You can still enjoy warm sunshine each day and if the evenings get a bit chilly, you can always light up the fireplace to keep warm.

Luxury and Comfort at Baja California Sur Resorts

You can enjoy sweeping views of the Sea of Cortez from the bedroom of your vacation villa. Wake up each morning with the sea peaking over the water and glistening in the early dawn. Large shaded decks provide the ideal place to enjoy meals and socialize with family and friends. Take a batch of your favorite books and enjoy reading in a hammock while the warm breeze blows overhead. If you enjoy watching the waves, you may be fortunate to spot whales, dolphins or rays playing in the waves below. You will find that most villas are extremely spacious with multiple dining and living areas suitable for groups vacationing together. Modern and well-equipped kitchens make holiday catering easy. Some villas offer the services of a cook or house manager who will take care of groceries and preparing meals upon request. Bedrooms have ceiling fans or air conditioners to provide respite from the heat. This means that you are able to enjoy the warm climate without feeling discomfort.

Things to See and Do near Baja California Sur Vacation Rentals

One of the favorite activities on the Baja California Sur peninsula is fishing. Often, you can fish from the beach right outside your vacation home which negates the need to get in your car and travel anywhere. If you would like to head out and try to catch some of the big game fish such as marlin, tuna, dorado or wahoo then it’s best to join a fishing charter. The boats go out daily from the local marinas and are crewed by professional skippers that know where to find the fish. Be sure to take a wide-brimmed hat and loads of sunscreen, otherwise you may come back looking like a lobster yourself. There are several luxury health spas in the region where you can enjoy some pampering treatments and beauty therapy. This is an ideal way to spend your day when your spouse heads to one of the top-quality golf courses in the area.
