  • Lovin' it

"We've visited Los Barilles several times over the past 20 years. If today's Cabo scene isn't your thing, get a good feel for what it was like 30 or 40 years ago by visiting Los Barilles. Small, friendly people, safe, quiet, beautiful beaches, superb dining, great fishing...the REAL Mexico! (not Disneyland) Its well worth the car rental or taxi fare to really get away from the rush and relax. This fine condo is your home base for all kinds of fun and relaxation. The folks we met there were all great. The only part we didn't like was LEAVING! We'll certainly be back. We're telling our friends."

  • Vacation of a lifetime! Don't pass this place up!

"Wow. Where to start? Well, a bit of background; My wife, son (5y/o), and I spend a week at Maritas Casitas in Mid-March. we were coming from the Pacific NW, so sun and fun sounded pretty good. However, we had be to southern mainland Mexico 7+ years ago, but never to Baja. We found out about Aldo's place from a mutual acquaintance, who told us when he heard that we were thinking of a trip to Mexico this Winter/Spring "GO HERE. TRUST ME." Well, I'm glad I trust him, because this was an amazing trip, with the perfect accommodations. It might not be the right fit if you are looking for fine china, more space than you know what to do with, and luxury for luxury's sake, but if that's what you're into, I'm guessing you're not looking at rentals outside of Cabo San Lucas anyway. To summarize: We stayed upstairs, and the accommodations are perfect for a family of 3, and 4 would be fine as well. Cleanliness was exemplary, and safety for the little one was no problem at all (he's 5, so we are out of the woods somewhat). The extra amenities of the outdoor shower/bathroom, 3rd floor sundeck, and garden palapa really make 625 sq/ft feel like 1000+. Even the smaller fridge has the benefit of encouraging you to explore the local markets for fresh frutas, leguntas, y mariscos! Ay, los mariscos! Dios mio! We went to a different beach every day (usually the only ones there on a mile-long-stretch of unbelievable beauty), went horseback riding, tried all the excellent taqueria recommendations of Aldo (trust him, he's right), and went surfing at Los Cerritos, my 5y/o son included! Lying on the board as the rollers wash you into shore counts as surfing, right? :D On our final night, my son looked at me as we sat, enjoying an amazing dinner at El Zaguan, and said to me "Daddy, can we please come back here? Pleeeeeeease!?" I said yes, and I meant it. Thanks for an amazing vacation Aldo, Bequia, and most of all, Marita!"

  • Stay at Casa Rincon

"We had such a great time! We had a large group (7 of us) so we rented both the upstairs and downstairs. The kids stayed in the upstairs and really enjoyed having their own space there. Everything about the house was great! It looked just like all of the pictures. All of the amenities were exactly as described. It was nice to have all of the recommendations of things to do waiting for us when we got there. Lyn's book of recommendations were so helpful! We enjoyed having the pool there, we loved coming home in the evenings and relaxing by the pool and swimming. The kids walked down to the private beach and said it was a really nice area to just lay out or swim. It was great to cook right there and enjoy dinner by the pool. This is definitely the route to go. We were able to do so much and feel so comfortable without the hassle of a hotel."

  • Wow! Wonderful

"We had such a great time at Casa Lolita. The view was beautiful from all the rooms. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything needed to make a nice dinner inside or outside. Hanging at the swim up bar was relaxing. Making s'mores with the kids under the stars was a treat for everyone. The pictures don't do justice to really how beautiful the property is and how tastefully it is decorated. We will definitely be back soon with all there is to do in Cabo and we will definitely stay at Casa Lolita."

Baja California Sur Travel Tips

Family Fun at Baja California Sur Vacation Rentals

Baja California Sur is a great family destination. The vacation homes available vary in size and some can accommodate up to 16 people. This means that you can enjoy a vacation with your siblings and their extended families, and have a whale of a time enjoying the beaches and other activities together. There are a number of well-known resort towns along the coast and many vacation rentals available in each town. Some of the more well-known vacation areas include Todos Santos, San Jose Del Cabo, Tortuga, La Paz, and La Ribera. Favorite activities include fishing and golf, although there are plenty of other activities to keep the kids occupied. The beaches are great for building sandcastles, although the sea can sometimes be a bit too rough for swimming. Many of the vacation homes have swimming pools where you can cool off from the Mexican heat.

Seasons to Visit Baja California Sur Beach Houses

Baja California Sur enjoys a year-round hot climate. For some people, the summer months of June through August may be a bit too extreme but still many families come to enjoy their vacations during this time of year. Possibly the better time to visit is December through April when the weather is slightly milder and temperatures aren’t quite as hot. You can still enjoy warm sunshine each day and if the evenings get a bit chilly, you can always light up the fireplace to keep warm.

Luxury and Comfort at Baja California Sur Resorts

You can enjoy sweeping views of the Sea of Cortez from the bedroom of your vacation villa. Wake up each morning with the sea peaking over the water and glistening in the early dawn. Large shaded decks provide the ideal place to enjoy meals and socialize with family and friends. Take a batch of your favorite books and enjoy reading in a hammock while the warm breeze blows overhead. If you enjoy watching the waves, you may be fortunate to spot whales, dolphins or rays playing in the waves below. You will find that most villas are extremely spacious with multiple dining and living areas suitable for groups vacationing together. Modern and well-equipped kitchens make holiday catering easy. Some villas offer the services of a cook or house manager who will take care of groceries and preparing meals upon request. Bedrooms have ceiling fans or air conditioners to provide respite from the heat. This means that you are able to enjoy the warm climate without feeling discomfort.

Things to See and Do near Baja California Sur Vacation Rentals

One of the favorite activities on the Baja California Sur peninsula is fishing. Often, you can fish from the beach right outside your vacation home which negates the need to get in your car and travel anywhere. If you would like to head out and try to catch some of the big game fish such as marlin, tuna, dorado or wahoo then it’s best to join a fishing charter. The boats go out daily from the local marinas and are crewed by professional skippers that know where to find the fish. Be sure to take a wide-brimmed hat and loads of sunscreen, otherwise you may come back looking like a lobster yourself. There are several luxury health spas in the region where you can enjoy some pampering treatments and beauty therapy. This is an ideal way to spend your day when your spouse heads to one of the top-quality golf courses in the area.
