  • Fabulous, comfortable Loreto Bay home

"Our expectations were exceeded staying at this home in the friendly Loreto Bay resort. It felt like being in the beautiful home of a friend. It was incredibly comfortable for the four of us (2 mature couples), spacious and well equipped with beautiful decorations, artwork, kitchen supplies, books, comfortable furniture and beds. The views from the upper decks were lovely especially in early morning and evening. Everything is available, from a decktop barbeque to a firepit. The location is perfect for getting to the beach or to the fantastic pool facility. The bikes, while funky, were a welcome and fun activity and way to get around the area. On Saturday, the weekly arrival of seafood Louis provided us with some of the best fresh shrimp and bass we've ever had. As noted, you will need to get in line early, as we did for the best selection. The owners were great to deal with and provided every possible resource and information to make our stay fantastic both before arriving and when we got there. Trips to the town of Loreto require a taxi (200 pesos each way) unless you have your own vehicle. And if you want to make your own meals, you will need to shop in the town of Loreto for most items. There are a few eateries and a very small grocery in the Loreto Bay condo/village area, but that's limited. The coffee shop in the condo village is particularly good and friendly, with great baked items, espresso drinks and a fantastic brunch on Sunday morning. My wife had them make an amazing chocolate layer birthday cake for me as a surprise and I'm somewhat embarrassed to admit the four of us finished off a cake made for about 8. This has nothing to do with the rental, but one caution: if you rent kayaks (a highly recommended activity) from the vendor on the nearby beach, make sure you ask for the ones that do not leak. Enough said. In summary, this rental made for a great beginning to our Loreto adventure trip and we would not hesitate renting it again or recommending it to all of our friends. Look no further, this is the place you're looking for."

  • Celebrity Rock Star Status ALL THE WAY!

"Well what can I say other than we felt treated like celebrity rock stars the entire 3 days that we stayed here- What I mean by that is there was no one around to bother us UNLESS we needed something & THEN they were right there with whatever we needed immediately- The condo & all of it 's appointments is spectacular, the view unmatched, & the serenity incredible- We come down to Cabo San Lucas for a week every year & last year we stayed up the beach at the Cerritos Surf Colony for 1 night- It was ok but the PEARL that day was when we took a walk up the pristine beach & found Sol Pacifico Cerritos- After some investigation we made contact with the owners Austin & Kelly, who could not be nicer people, & decided to pull the trigger & stay an extra 3 days this year at their place- WOW, We are SO glad we did as this place is just amazing! We trekked up to Todo Santos on day & stopped & had pizza on our way back at La Mozzeralla, whose family owns the blanket factory just up the road, we stopped & bought a hand-woven hammock, we trekked around some back roads, but MOSTLY just stayed at Sol Pacifico Cerritos & enjoyed all of the amenities it offers- Great pools, hot tubs, etc. & a GREAT restaurant! After meeting Chef Antonio we ended up eating lunch there the 1st day & dinner there ALL 3 nights as his cooking is simply amazing- Black Snook the 1st night, Parrot Fish the 2nd, & grilled Lamb Chops & Pineapple Prawns the 3rd, each night with amazing salads & even a fresh made coconut flan, MUCHO GRACIAS ANTONIO! So do I sound like we had a good time yet? WELL, THEN WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR, BOOK THIS PLACE NOW because we already did to extend our trip again next year! MUCHO GRACIAS Austin & Kelly!"

  • Seemless Getaway you will NEVER forget:)

"Exceptional Service, Exceptional location, Truly Beachfront, From Uber-relaxing to instant cocktail party this oasis will not disappoint. We took our entire staff of ten and all I heard was "this is the best vacation I have ever been on!" So if you need to spoil your employees or need the perfect reunion spot... this is the place, you will notice other homes in the area that don't even come close to this home! A MUST>>> Ericson is the chef that can provide you gourmet meals that you are continually anticipating what amazing creation she will come up with next. Her staff works with her seamlessly to make you realize you are in a 5 star resort, which this really is... your PRIVATE RESORT."

  • Fantastic with older kids

"The combo of spring break in Cabo and staying at this top floor villa was perfect. We have been to other areas of Mexico with our children (14, 13 and 10), and by far, Cabo felt the safest and most welcoming. Two large bedrooms were fantastic for kids. Our youngest opted to sleep on the pull out couch in the living room. The balcony is the most amazing part of this unit. The view is gorgeous (it is the main photo for this listing). There are two lounge chairs that were the most coveted seats for our family. The breezes that you get up there, particularly later in the afternoon and evening, were wonderful. Every time that we were in the condo (breakfast, showering, happy hour), we were all out on the balcony that extends from the master, to the living, to the guest room. It runs the full length of the condo. We spent some time on the balcony watching our kids in the pool. You couldn't do that with younger ones, but ours were fine. We had friends stay the Palmar and thought the properties were very, very different. The Palmar had tons of little kids, looked super crowded around the pool, and everything was super wet. Estancia's pool area is beautifully landscaped, and chairs are set up in different areas, which ends up offering much more privacy and a luxury feel to the property. Our friends from Palmar came into our property several times, but NOTE they cannot bring in their towels from the other properties. That is a huge red flag and the pool manager will tell them they need to go up and register as a guest on your account. It took about 5 minutes to do this, no big deal. We bought breakfast food from Walmart (simple, easy trip), usually ate lunch at the pool and then went into Cabo for dinners. The beach is considered "non-swimming" but we swam. My impression is that basically from Estancia to the east, the waves/undertow were too dangerous to swim. However, from Estancia to the west (to Lands End), it was safer and super fun. For the first 3 days we were there, the waves were huge (some about 10'). My kids and I went out into the swimming area with other avid beachgoers and had a ball. You just had to pay attention to where you were in relation to where the waves were breaking. The beach is steep, and within a handful of steps into the water, you are over your head. For our entire week stay, the "red" do-not-swim flag was posted at Estancia. However, no-one stops you."

Baja California Sur Travel Tips

Family Fun at Baja California Sur Vacation Rentals

Baja California Sur is a great family destination. The vacation homes available vary in size and some can accommodate up to 16 people. This means that you can enjoy a vacation with your siblings and their extended families, and have a whale of a time enjoying the beaches and other activities together. There are a number of well-known resort towns along the coast and many vacation rentals available in each town. Some of the more well-known vacation areas include Todos Santos, San Jose Del Cabo, Tortuga, La Paz, and La Ribera. Favorite activities include fishing and golf, although there are plenty of other activities to keep the kids occupied. The beaches are great for building sandcastles, although the sea can sometimes be a bit too rough for swimming. Many of the vacation homes have swimming pools where you can cool off from the Mexican heat.

Seasons to Visit Baja California Sur Beach Houses

Baja California Sur enjoys a year-round hot climate. For some people, the summer months of June through August may be a bit too extreme but still many families come to enjoy their vacations during this time of year. Possibly the better time to visit is December through April when the weather is slightly milder and temperatures aren’t quite as hot. You can still enjoy warm sunshine each day and if the evenings get a bit chilly, you can always light up the fireplace to keep warm.

Luxury and Comfort at Baja California Sur Resorts

You can enjoy sweeping views of the Sea of Cortez from the bedroom of your vacation villa. Wake up each morning with the sea peaking over the water and glistening in the early dawn. Large shaded decks provide the ideal place to enjoy meals and socialize with family and friends. Take a batch of your favorite books and enjoy reading in a hammock while the warm breeze blows overhead. If you enjoy watching the waves, you may be fortunate to spot whales, dolphins or rays playing in the waves below. You will find that most villas are extremely spacious with multiple dining and living areas suitable for groups vacationing together. Modern and well-equipped kitchens make holiday catering easy. Some villas offer the services of a cook or house manager who will take care of groceries and preparing meals upon request. Bedrooms have ceiling fans or air conditioners to provide respite from the heat. This means that you are able to enjoy the warm climate without feeling discomfort.

Things to See and Do near Baja California Sur Vacation Rentals

One of the favorite activities on the Baja California Sur peninsula is fishing. Often, you can fish from the beach right outside your vacation home which negates the need to get in your car and travel anywhere. If you would like to head out and try to catch some of the big game fish such as marlin, tuna, dorado or wahoo then it’s best to join a fishing charter. The boats go out daily from the local marinas and are crewed by professional skippers that know where to find the fish. Be sure to take a wide-brimmed hat and loads of sunscreen, otherwise you may come back looking like a lobster yourself. There are several luxury health spas in the region where you can enjoy some pampering treatments and beauty therapy. This is an ideal way to spend your day when your spouse heads to one of the top-quality golf courses in the area.
