  • Wonderful Casa and Great Location

"We just returned from SMA last week after a wonderful three weeks at Casa De Los Amigos. Miguel met us at the door when we arrived and Isabel was a wonderful and friendly housekeeper. The casa was comfortable and as shown in the pictures except that the rooftop view was more spectacular with front row seats to the Saturday night fireworks over the Paroquia or the sunset facing in the opposite direction. The terrace also had partial shade so I was able to read and enjoy my cerveza while my wife lounged in the bright sun. Just for that Mexican touch, there was a rooster in the area that was somewhat time challenged and apparently never got the memo about crowing only at the break of day. The location was excellent. There’s a bakery right next door with fresh Italian style buns for 2 pesos, a bodega across the street for cold beer, and a nice little seafood restaurant (Mariscolandia) just a couple of blocks away. The food is quite good and the staff speak English. Just down the road, at Pila Seca and Zacateros, we discovered Casa Payo which has a very romantic setting and good Mexican/western food. Obviously, fresh food was a concern and we found the Mercado farmers market near Calle San Pedro and San Rafael. Otherwise, the Bonanza at 34 Mesones carried a lot of the ex-pat type foods. We bought BBQ chicken a couple of times on San Pedro and Indio Triste. The walk to the Jardin was an easy 10 – 15 minute walk away where the night life was great and a safe walk home even at midnight. All in all, loved the Casa and SMA in general, so thank you Patrick, Isabel and Miguel for making our stay so great. Next year we’re coming back for at least a month."

  • Tranquil, Comfortable and Lovely

"This property has the trifecta. The beautiful garden surrounding the house ensures a quiet and stunning respite from the energy of Cuernavaca. The tastefully decorated house with lovely Asian accents combines with all the creature comforts for a wonderful stay. Taxies are always readily available and very reasonable. There are great restaurants nearby like Gusto and Barini. A botanic gardens is only a couple of blocks away and offers a great place to stroll. Juana is so gracious and helpful with suggestions and tourist advice and ensures everything is fresh and clean upon arrival. In addition to sites and museums in Cuernavaca, Greyhound-like buses can take you to nearby Puebla, Taxco or Tepotzlan for very few dollars. We always feel safe and everyone is so friendly. We are already confirmed to return in 2016. This Casa is a gem!"

  • An Interesting San Miguel Place

"I have stayed at this property several times. It has some pluses, such as the incredible rooftop view of town (and partial views from Apt #2), and really neat design features. It is in a quiet neighborhood (by San Miguel standards). It is a beautiful (if long) downhill walk to center. For most folks, it would be a taxi ride home. While there is a small tienda store just steps away for drinks and some supplies, most shopping will require a taxi or hike to larger stores. The kitchen in apt 2 is adequate, and well stocked with implements. The furnishings are simple and usable, and the full size bed is better than many in Mexico. The owners (who may not be on property when you are there) are great to deal with."

Getting to Central Mexico Vacation Houses

The main access point to the central region of Mexico is through the capital Mexico City. The Benito Juarez International Airport is located in Mexico City. It is one of Central America’s busiest airports and its expansion has only been hampered by the fact that it is surrounded by residential and commercial property. A secondary airport is the Toluca airport which handles domestic and private charter flights. The Mexico City Airport hosts most major North and South American carriers. There are regularly scheduled flights that operate daily between Mexico City and destinations such as Houston, Atlanta, Miami, Las Vegas and Dallas. If traveling from other parts of the United States or Canada, you can route via any one of these major hubs. A bus terminal located outside the airport provides public transportation to other parts of Mexico City. If you plan to explore further afield, it may be a good idea to hire a car for the duration of your stay.
