  • Awesome villa, views, cook, and location

"Our group of 4 couples visited San Miguel de Allende for the first time and found this home to be perfect for our needs and perfectly located. We enjoyed the easy, daily walk into town, and the uphill walk back was also an easy pace. We could hear church bells from each room, and especially enjoyed the gorgeous and complete morning meal prepared by Chayo. We spent most nights outside gathered around the outdoor fireplace until late. We could easily stay in this home for a month!! Thank you."

  • Beautiful Oasis

"This was our second visit to San Miguel and our first stay at Casa Fortuna. The house is truly beautiful and well-cared for by Guadeloupe and the gardener. All arrangements went very smoothly. The neighborhood is very friendly--appreciated the corner store and bus stop right outside our door as well as easy access to restaurants, the Instituto etc. The rooftop is quite spectacular, even though our first few days were unexpectedly cold and rainy and we could only peek at it from inside! We hope to return to San Miguel and Casa Fortuna, hopefully for longer stays, in the future"

  • Beautiful Home & Wonderful Cook!!!

"This multilevel (3) home is simply gorgeous; it features beautiful spaces throughout the house and two wonderful terraces. Cooking on the kitchen with with the terrace doors open and the amazing views (particularly at sunset) was beyond words. As soon as we arrived we felt at home and parting was very hard. Amalia is a treasure and a wonderful person to converse with. Her cooking was delicious and she was kind to ask at what time we would prefer breakfast served. This was very important to us as we are not morning people and the fact that she considered our schedule just made her even more awesome in our eyes. As a local, Amalia has great recommendations as where to find good and affordable restaurants! Even though the home is in the high part of a hill, the walk to the Centro wasn't so bad. For those that prefer to not walk, the taxi drivers were always on time to pick us up for a pretty inexpensive amount. Overall, we had a fantastic time at Casa Colina and we cannot wait to stay there again, hopefully in the summer to enjoy the swimming pool!"

  • Great Place

"I stayed a month at this bright and airy studio apartment and enjoyed every minute. Located at the end of a residential street, it's a safe family neighborhood. The small courtyard is private and tree shaded and the three flights of stairs takes you up to your bright and airy 'Sanctuary'. And a further spiral staircase takes you to the rooftop terrace with wonderful views. Had everything I needed in the kitchen and was glad to have a micorwave. The bathroom even has a lovely small Mexican tiled tub. The location is great - a flat quick walk to the Jardin, and also near the Artisan Market. Do go 'round the corner on Animas and eat at Maria's. I look forward to staying here again!"

Dolores Hidalgo Travel Tips

Dolores Hidalgo Vacation Rentals

Dolores Hidalgo is situated near the city of Guadalajara in Mexico. Dolores Hidalgo is known for its rich history as the city where Mexico's struggle for independence from Spanish rule began (and continued until 1824). Because of its rich history, Dolores Hidalgo is a colonial city, where visitors to the area are first greeted by a huge statue representing the heroes that fought for the country's independence. The city is also known for its ceramics and plenty of fun and activities in and around the city's main plaza.

Whether you're heading to Dolores Hidalgo for a romantic getaway or on a family vacation, Dolores Hidalgo vacation rentals offer you a home away from home experience. Vacation rental property styles range from condominiums to Dolores Hidalgo villas. Especially for extended stays, vacation rentals provide the comfort and convenience of amenities such as kitchens, living areas, private bedrooms and more space than you'll find in a hotel room.

Living Like the Locals in a Guanajuato Accommodation

The small town atmosphere of Dolores Hidalgo allows most visitors to feel as if they are part of the community. While spending your vacation in a hotel surrounds you with other visitors to the area, staying in a Gunajuato accommodation, such as Dolores Hidalgo villas, surrounds you with the locals, which means you are truly immersing yourself in the culture of Dolores Hidalgo. Whether you choose to meet your neighbors or keep to yourself, a private Dolores Hidalgo vacation rental gives you the option and the space to entertain your family or relax in comfort.

Delores Hidalgo Vacation Rental Activities

Wander down the streets that lead to the main plaza from the front door of your Dolores Hidalgo vacation rental. View the decorative ceramics, Talavera ceramic pieces, the area is famous for in the ceramic shops or tour one of the ceramic factories. The other item that Delores Hidalgo is famous for is its ice cream, so you'll find ice cream stands on all four corners of the main plaza. In addition to serving traditional ice cream flavors such as vanilla, chocolate and strawberry, Dolores Hidalgo serves up scoops of less common flavors such as avocado, shrimp and tequila flavors.
