  • Great views, wonderful city.

"Casa Rosa is dramaticaly situated and offers from every room in the house magnificent views of Guanjuato, a spectacular and effervescent city. We greatly appreciated our month in the house, the help and attention of the house manager, the visits of one the local cats who we adopted, the proximity of the city center, the beauty of the city scape. Climbing to the house is a demanding exercise but gets one rapidly into shape."

  • Excellent house

"When I decided to rent casa del limon I was in a hurry and had my reserves. I wanted a safe property very close to el jardin de la union and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised! The pictures on VRBO are good but nowhere near as beautiful as the property. The different sections of the terraza are and the views are breathtaking. I invited my friends over for a get together and they were all asking how I found the property...honestly, I wanted to be a little selfish because I want this house when I go back. Another review talks about the outdoor restroom as a drawback, I look at it as an adventure and part of the charm of such a gorgeous property. Let me just say a month was not enough to enjoy this beauty. If you are familiar with Guanajuato you will appreciate the how close it is to el jardin de la union and that it is only a few stairs uphill to get to the house. The kitchen is fully equipped! There were a couple of things but it has to do more with management than with the property is that there was no drinking water when I arrived and I was not informed of where to place the trash, but these small issues were not enough to take away a full star."

  • What a delight!

"Date of Stay November 21, 2013 Helpful votes:0/0. What a delight to stay in the heart of Guanajuato at El Tecolote. This is a charming, colorful and vintage Mexican 3 story home complete with everything you need. Included are gorgeous vistas of the entire city for great photography,a fantastic library from the arts to sciences. There are well placed gardens to read and lounge in, and a wonderful kitchen/dining room overlooking beautiful domed churches which I painted daily from so many angles. Within a five minute walk we were at really good and reasonable restaurants, our favorite coffee at Cafe Tal, excellent classical music concerts, beautiful local stores, excellent museums- like the Don Quiote, and the architecturally wonderful university. You feel at home here. It is a place you do not want to leave, especially the third floor bedroom way up in the stars."

  • A misture of Mexican and American: Spacious, Comfortable with Great Outdoor Spaces

"Two of us spent over 6 weeks here during the winter of 2014. The house was spacious- we enjoyed having two separate living rooms, one on each floor. Watching the traffic flow well below us as it curled along around the Embajadores area at night was a wonderful view from the second floor. During the day being able to see so much of the city in three and four directions -below us and over across Gunajuato's many hills- from the second and third floors was a continuously interesting sight. The majority of furniture in the house is American and the many fans throughout the property were appreciated on warm days and evenings. We found the way up to the house from Sangre de Cristo Street, starting at the old fountain, was our preferred route to the house. A choice of out door spaces was appreciated but we mostly used the covered terrace on the second floor as we liked the views and the protection from the direct (and sometimes hot) sun during the mid day. At times we found the trek up the many steps a bit tedious (with too much luggage!) but this is Guanajuato and you get the views as your reward! Tracey, the owner, was very responsive and helpful in addressing our questions, needs and issues that arose and needs. There is so much to recommend GTO in the winter- the symphony, the concerts at Don Quixote, and Museo Gene Byron, plus the galleries, the interesting architecture and the "Lego building blocks" of the houses tumbling down the hillside..plus art and the various galleries."
