  • Comfortable Home

"Case Verde is a comfortable vacation option for 6 people with the biggest plus being the proximity to the center of the action of the Jardin, theaters and plazas with their many shopping and restaurants options. Having a BBQ grill up on the terrace was awesome along with the City views, -but please be aware of the steep and difficult climb to the main entrance -steps are very uneven and of different heights-. For our family to have a TV in the entertainment room would have made it a perfect vacation home -the world series was on when we were there and many of the sports bars in the area were filled with cigarette smoke- as well as small touches such as comfortable towels, a new shower liner and enough usable pots and pans to cook. Yes, James, the property manager, was very helpful in getting us a non-stick egg pan, usable cooking pans and enough glasses/cups for 6 people; he also quickly replaced the gas tank when on our third day the gas was running low so thanks to him the rest of our stay was more comfortable."

  • Serenity in the City!

"We spent 6 fabulous days in Guanajuato and our time was enhanced by being able to escape from the crowds to Ron & Amanda's cozy and tranquil casita. From the casita, you can be in the centre of town in a mere 15 minutes (walking) enjoying ice cream, latte's and all the culturally rich sights and sounds of the city. Absolutely the best of both worlds! The casita is surrounded by bougainvillea and cactus with amazing views of 15th & 17th century silver mines from both the patio and dining table. We felt so fortunate every day to be witness to this history. We also enjoyed sitting on the stone patio enjoying morning café or an evening beverage listening to the sounds of the neighbourhood and feeling the late afternoon breezes. The casita has everything you could possible want/need including a library, orange juicer (so worth buying local oranges for morning juice), and a wonderfully comfy bed! Mestizo for lunch or dinner is a must in Guanajuato. It is located just up from the Diego Rivera museo, another must see. Many thanks Amanda and Ron for your hospitality and sharing your casita. We truly hope to return for another visit in the near future."

  • Great views, wonderful city.

"Casa Rosa is dramaticaly situated and offers from every room in the house magnificent views of Guanjuato, a spectacular and effervescent city. We greatly appreciated our month in the house, the help and attention of the house manager, the visits of one the local cats who we adopted, the proximity of the city center, the beauty of the city scape. Climbing to the house is a demanding exercise but gets one rapidly into shape."

  • A misture of Mexican and American: Spacious, Comfortable with Great Outdoor Spaces

"Two of us spent over 6 weeks here during the winter of 2014. The house was spacious- we enjoyed having two separate living rooms, one on each floor. Watching the traffic flow well below us as it curled along around the Embajadores area at night was a wonderful view from the second floor. During the day being able to see so much of the city in three and four directions -below us and over across Gunajuato's many hills- from the second and third floors was a continuously interesting sight. The majority of furniture in the house is American and the many fans throughout the property were appreciated on warm days and evenings. We found the way up to the house from Sangre de Cristo Street, starting at the old fountain, was our preferred route to the house. A choice of out door spaces was appreciated but we mostly used the covered terrace on the second floor as we liked the views and the protection from the direct (and sometimes hot) sun during the mid day. At times we found the trek up the many steps a bit tedious (with too much luggage!) but this is Guanajuato and you get the views as your reward! Tracey, the owner, was very responsive and helpful in addressing our questions, needs and issues that arose and needs. There is so much to recommend GTO in the winter- the symphony, the concerts at Don Quixote, and Museo Gene Byron, plus the galleries, the interesting architecture and the "Lego building blocks" of the houses tumbling down the art and the various galleries."
