"This was our fifth trip to San Miguel de Allende. This time we chose to stay at Casa Adriana. This will now be our home away from home. We had such a great experience with non-hotel accommodations. The owners (Adriana and Greg) were so very helpful with anything we needed. We felt welcomed from the first step onto the clean and well maintained property. The neighbors are so kind and very informed about the happenings in San Miguel. The house itself was decorated so beautifully and authentically. You can tell the owners go out of their way to ensure a most comfortable stay. Everything you need (and then some) is available to you. The short walk and/or taxi drive into the heart of San Miguel is no problem. If you forget something, no worries the "tiendita" or little store is right outside the property. Make sure you have a drink on the terraza...the view is spectacular! Thank you for such a warm and memorable vacation. We will be back!"

"My husband and I so enjoyed our stay in this lovely home in the Atascadero neighborhood of San Miguel. The house is beyond comfortable…spacious, nicely appointed, three fireplaces and extra heaters for chilly evenings, plus the ultimate special touch of electric mattress pad warmers on every bed. Everything you need in your home-away-from-home has been considered. What a delight!
The owner, Carol, is an absolute pleasure to work with. It is obvious that she genuinely cares about the people renting her home and treats them as her guests, not her tenants. And the housekeeper, Judith, is Carol’s on-site representative, making sure you have everything you need. She is also a fantastic cook and speaks very good English.
The Atascadero neighborhood is quiet and lovely to walk around. It’s only a 20-minute walk (downhill) into town. We also walked back up the hill most days – it’s a good way to work off the wonderful food in San Miguel.
This is a pet-friendly home that is wonderful for dogs. Ours spent hours happily lounging in the garden and there are great places to walk them in the neighborhood. However, if you are not a dog-person, don’t worry. The home is spotless, so you’d never know they were there.
The house, casita, gardens and roof deck are all nicely appointed. This is definitely “our home” the next time we visit San Miguel."

"Need to exhale and enjoy tranquility, the Ruth Hayward’s Casa Manu is my recommendation. Both the larger Villa or the smaller casita are a centrally located, flat part of the town, to use as home base and enjoy the magic San Miguel Allende can serve up to visitors who are open to it’s many charms.
Both accommodations are welcoming abodes, tastefully and thoughtfully decorated by the owner. The grounds contain gardens and plants typical of aristocratic old Mexico, and are kept in tip top shape by the gardening staff. The housekeeping staff will do light housekeeping duties daily and a once a week heavier cleaning of your accommodations. Everyone at Casa Mandu is of good cheer, and helpful.
Both the villa and casita are priced right for what one receives in return. I am a retired major airline employee, and have been around the travel and accommodations block. It’s my opinion that both the villa and casita are priced right for what one receives in return. I plan on returning in the spring, and once again will make Casa Mandu my first choice visiting San Miguel."

"I spent two weeks in this beautiful home along with my two sisters and it was a magical experience. First of all, the house is just stunning. It is flooded with natural light and at every turn, there is another beautiful piece of art or native artifact to enjoy. All our beds were super comfy, the linens and towels are luxury quality. The owner (who is delightful by the way) seems to have anticipated your every need with hair dryers and robes in every bathroom, a fully stocked kitchen, maps and informational materials, a great library -- even a bucket of umbrellas at the door. I told her next time, I won't bother to pack! It was all there!
The location is perfect -- steps away from the 5-star Rosewood and Matilda hotels/restaurants, the most beautiful park in town and just a few blocks from the Jardin. There are three levels of flowered patios and terraces with the top ones yielding breath-taking views in all directions. I watched a full lunar eclipse from the top terrace. Magic!
We hosted a dinner for friends on the patio one evening, all authentic local cuisine prepared by Maria, the housekeeper/chef. I have saved the best for last; that's the staff. Jose keeps the gardens in pristine condition, every flower pot is watered, every fallen leaf removed. He even fixed my broken eye glasses. And there is a good reason everyone tries to steal Maria. That woman can cook and seems to love doing it. She just couldn't do enough for us -- laundry, grocery shopping, making beds and keeping the house clean with fresh flower bouquets everywhere. I've rented homes in SMA for nearly 35 years. This was the best one by far. Can't wait to go back and next time it will be for more than two weeks."
