"On our first visit to San Miguel we were fortunate enough to find this unique and lovely house. It is as represented in the photos but even better in person. We loved sitting in the bright and cheery living room for AM coffee, lighting the fireplace on cool mornings. The waterfall wall is not only beautiful but on warm days it is like a cool oasis that comes into the kitchen/living room. The house is filled with art, something interesting around every corner. There is so much to do in San Miguel that we weren't in many evenings but on rainy nights, the den upstairs was cozy and you could enjoy the city views. Our favorite place is the Roof Terrace, overlooking the city. It is beautiful in the afternoon, for sunsets, the afterglow and then as the lights of the city come on and the church bells peal over the city. Up one more flight of stairs and you are on the roof for the most spectacular views possible We especially appreciated the location, near the city center and the Mercado. We walked everywhere but the availability of reasonably priced taxis was a real asset as well. We found many interesting and very good restaurants, important as we are Foodies. We found music everywhere, a wide variety and available every night in some location. There are movies in at least two venues, well priced and recent offerings. Our Mexican neighbors were patient with our non Spanish skills, always helpful.
And perhaps the real magic of San Miguel is the friendly spirit, outgoing people, new friends waiting to be made.
We would definitely recommend this home to friends. We were welcomed by a Representative of the owner, arrangements were made for a driver to meet us at the airport and the owner is responsive and welcoming."

"We just returned from a glorious week’s stay at Casa del Encanto. This was our first trip to San Miguel and I cannot imagine a more perfect spot from which to explore this magical city.
From our initial inquiry, contact/information from the owners was quick, thorough and very helpful. As the previous reviewer indicated, the photos do not do this property justice. It is incredibly comfortable, beautifully appointed and perfectly situated for a stay in SMA. Graciela, the housekeeper, helped make our visit memorable. She made delicious breakfasts for us each day—varied in content and always ready at the time desired.
It really is less than 10 minutes walk to the Jardin—the epicenter of all activity in town. There seemed to be some live music there every time we arrived. The home, with three bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, is perfectly suited to couples/friends traveling together. Additionally, the various sitting rooms and sala, as well as the incomparable courtyard (with fireplace!), means that there’s always a private space when you want to ‘be alone’. The rooftop is ideal for viewing magnificent sunsets and the frequent displays of fireworks.
The owners have clearly taken great care in furnishing and decorating this beautiful home. You really do feel like you are visiting friends. We would not look at another property if/when we return to San Miguel."

"We spent a great week in SMA with another couple at this excellent house. It was beautiful, clean, comfortable, secure, fully furnished, and well appointed. It has an outdoor atrium with a fountain. The house has several fireplaces. It is within easy walking distance to the center of town, called the Jardin, and many great restaurants. You do not need a car to stay here. I would recommend this house to anyone. Excellent value for the price."

"I have stayed at this property several times. It has some pluses, such as the incredible rooftop view of town (and partial views from Apt #2), and really neat design features. It is in a quiet neighborhood (by San Miguel standards). It is a beautiful (if long) downhill walk to center. For most folks, it would be a taxi ride home. While there is a small tienda store just steps away for drinks and some supplies, most shopping will require a taxi or hike to larger stores.
The kitchen in apt 2 is adequate, and well stocked with implements. The furnishings are simple and usable, and the full size bed is better than many in Mexico.
The owners (who may not be on property when you are there) are great to deal with."
