  • The Perfect Oasis In a Perfect Holiday

"We recently spent a wonderful month in San Miguel de Allende based at the wonderful Casa Madelan. The city was exciting, busy, colourful and full of festivities and activities. The house by contrast was an oasis of peace and quiet and gracious indoor/outdoor living. Home owners Alan and Madeline have thought of everything. Three ensuite bedrooms with spaces to sit and read or write and rest ensured we and our guests were happily ensconced in our own comfortable digs. The shared spaces such as the beautiful central courtyard with lush vines and plants and fountain, the rooftop sala with ample seating and BBQ and satellite kitchen area, and the beautifully decorated and comfortable living room / dining room made communal gatherings a joy. At any point in the day we could choose between a lovely patch of sun or cool comfortable shade outside. The interior was beautifully lit with large windows letting in natural indirect light; and lots of thoughtfully designed interior and exterior lighting made every space beautiful and comfortable day and night. The main kitchen was well equipped and easy to work in and shopping at nearby markets, bakeries, butchers and grocers for fresh local ingredients for our meals was really fun. We also had a great time discovering local restaurants and cafes. We were walking distance to everything in the centro historico area and much beyond. When we tuckered out or it was getting late we just jumped into a taxi. We took in films, museums, concerts, markets, galleries and studios, and even took part in local volunteer activities. The neighborhood felt comfortable and safe and we enjoyed meeting the family who ran a little shop steps from our door where we bought water and anything we were running short of. The property manager Erika was very warm and helpful and it was great to know she was there when we needed her. Margarita came three times a week to clean and take care of the garden. She was very pleasant, efficient and thorough. Allan and Madeline’s passion for great design and comfort and for the magic of SMA was evident in every communication. Our San Miguel holiday was a perfect mix of activity and rest. Our stay at Casa Madelan was nothing short of wonderful! We felt extremely well taken care of and soul nurtured by all involved including San Miguel de Allende. We would love to return!"

  • Great Place to Stay

"We stayed here for the last two weeks in January. While it was chilly outdoors, we had no trouble staying warm indoors as there was a gas heater that took the chill off the late nights and early mornings. And on the topic of heat, we were extremely pleased that there was plenty of hot water for a 10-minute shower each morning! Aside from the warmth and hot water, we were taken by several other features of the condo. It is extremely clean and nicely decorated. It is located within a couple of blocks of a large market, and the city center is only a short distance beyond the market. In short, the condo is ideally located. But beyond the condo, itself, is the support one receives from the property management staff. The property manager was extremely helpful to us when one of us became ill and required medical attention. And housekeeper Maria is so helpful that you will want to take her with you when it's time for you to go back home. If there is a shortcoming, it is that the condo does NOT have a washer and dryer. There is, however, a laundry shop a 10 minute walk away where two kilos of dirty clothes will get washed and folded for just under $5.00."

  • Loved it!

"We recently stayed in Casita Lirio in Cinco Flores. My family of 3 had a wonderful first visit to San Miguel and a wonderful time at Cinco Flores! Casita Lirio was perfect in every way: it was very pretty; it was well maintained, decorated, supplied, and appointed; and it was comfortable, peaceful, and close to the square (the main center of everything). The patio was beautiful. We had such a short walk to the restaurants, shops, and square – it was great! We worked mainly with Robert. He was very prompt, quite helpful, and professional in all of our communications. I can’t think of any ‘extras’ that are needed or desired. We would definitely stay at Cinco Flores again! :)"

  • Great time, great space

"6 of us stay here and had a great time. There is a ton of room and lots to do. The owner is great and will help you in all sorts of ways. He picked us up and drop us off at the airport, he gave us a history lesson on the town, told us some great spots to go to. For our stay he had a cook and maid on hand to cook and clean. The house is great and you will have a great time if you stay."
