  • Stunning yet Comfy, Words can not adequately describe the beauty

"Thank you to Adriana and Greg for squeezing me in for a few days before heading back to San Antonio, Texas. Casa Adriana was much more than I needed for myself and truly more than I expected. Casa of four beautiful houses located within a large open space behind a gated wall. The house itself is beautifully designed with authentic Mexican features and comfortably furnished with a well-stocked kitchen of utensils, pots, pans and appliances. In the morning I enjoyed breakfast on the roof top where I could choose from three different areas to sit. The roof top has trees, bushes and plants in pots. The view is spectacular as you have probably the best view of the town highlighting the Centro, many Churches, roof tops and domes. In the other direction there is a wide panorama of the valley with mountains in the distance behind which the sun sets. This was the place to sit...either in the morning or else with a drink in hand in the evening. But the best thing to do in SMA is just walk, and this is a fine place from which to do that. The house is about a 15-20 minute to the El Jardin...the Centre of town but there is a slow and Mexican style bus that stops right outside the front gate that will take you there over cobble stoned roads for five pesos. Juanita was there to greet me when I arrived in the evening and provided house service on Monday. Can't really imagine how things could have been better. The only downside was that I could not spend more time there. Steve H."

  • Bright apartment with great location

"My husband and I stayed in this apartment for about 10 nights in early February 2015. The photos are representative of the space, but what we loved the most is that it is very bright (which is not the case in a lot of Mexican homes). The sun shines into the apartment all day due to huge windows along 2 walls. It is a short walk into town, but quiet. The kitchen is small, but well equipped with anything you will need (eating area is quite large, however). The apartment is spacious, beautifully decorated and having 2 bathrooms was great. There was no washing machine, but we gave our laundry to Maria, the house keeper and she did a couple of loads for us at a very reasonable price. The large bed is very comfortable and there is a lot of storage in the bedroom. The terrace was our favorite place to sit and read a book or have a cocktail before heading into town for dinner. There are several excellent restaurants within a 10 minute walk of the apartment. The property manager was very easy to work with (and English speaking). I forgot my passport in the bedroom cabinet and noticed this several hours after we had checked out. Erika worked with me to retrieve the passport and get it back to me. Without her cooperation, this could have been a nightmare. Overall a great stay, and if we are back in San Miguel, I would definitely stay here again. Absolutely loved it!"

  • Like your own personal boutique hotel...

"Casita Laurita is a wonderful place to stay. Every detail in the house was done with impeccable care. The townhouse feels airy and spacious, with beautiful plants and art. I particularly loved the studio, which had a huge desk and library, and a little balcony--a perfect place to work, and even with a little place to nap. The kitchen was built by someone who clearly loves to cook, because it has everything. The location is perfect--right near the artisan mercado, and also close to the Aurora, and only a few flat blocks to the jardin. It's a whole house that feels like a boutique hotel, right in the centro, for about the price of a moderate hotel room. Great beds, linens...everything has been well-considered. And have a margarita on the roof, with its panorama of all of San Miguel de Allende! The property manager, Guillermo, was so friendly, he made us feel right at home. Good place for couples who want an occasional visitor, or two friends who want their own private bedroom and bath."

  • A great family vacation!

"First of all, I agree with everything that has previously been nicely said! My experience at Casa Carole was shared with 2 sisters, my brother, and their spouses - 7 total! We had long anticipated a family vacation where we could all be comfortable together. Casa Carole was the perfect solution! It is truely beautiful down to the smallest detail of which there are many! We are all photographers and we kept getting out the camera time and again to record a new find. We were there for Easter Week which offers one spectacle, somber or celebratory, after another, all very colorful and intriguing. We spent most of our time in San Miguel, but we did have our driver for a day trip to Dolores HildGo, the gallery and church in Antotilaco (sp?), the beautiful winery, and la great unch at the beautiful restaurant Nirvana. I highly recommend the same. The food is outstanding, whether prepared by Rosa, or at a restaurant. We particularly enjoyed La Parada and The Restaurant on Thursday night, and puchasing "goodies" from The Petit Four to have for dessert at home. We thouroughly enjoyed a cooking class at Sazon which included a fun and informative tour of the market where we tasted many different items that were explained by the chefs and where we purchased the ingredients for our delicious meal. I highly reccomend the Mask Museum - fascinating! The one caveat I have to offer is for those who are in any way disabled or have difficulty walking, for whatever reason. The hills are steep and, for the most part, the streets are cobblestone. The situation is easily resolved by using taxis. They are readily available at any location and it costs about $3.00 to go anywhere in the city! Do go.enjoy the beauty of Casa Carole, the intriguing town of San Miguel, and enjoy!"
