"And that isn't all. It's only two blocks from the institute, an easy walk to a score is restaurants, a large drug store , a dozen tiendas. And it is a 10 minute walk to the Jardin, the center of activity in the town. Buses are available for five pesos and cabs cost 40-50 to go most places you would like to see. The propert itself is well maintained by a sweet and charming young woman named Marcel's who comes thrice each week. The place is comfortable, homey and clean , with plenty of interesting art and photography by the owners. The kitchen is well supplied. Further the entrance is protected by high metal gates and secure locks, so we always felt safe. The walk to the town center can be a little challenging if one has physical limitations, but the ready availability of cheap cabs makes it "no problema". We had a wonderful time in San Miguel, and we shall return ASAP"

"Denis and Patti's home is elegant and inviting. There are a variety of comfortable spaces to enjoy.. The quiet, cool patio just inside the beautiful art lined hallway; or a little sunshine on the plant filled rooftop terrace with a lovely view of Centro ,, ... And of course the open living/dining area again with some beautiful artwork and tasteful furniture
The furniture throughout the house is very comfortable,, my favourite being the comfy couches in the living room with the gas fireplace for those few chilling nights. The living /dining area gets some beautiful lighting in the afternoons through the large arched glass doors leading into the area. The house is well equipped with everything I needed especially the kitchen for anyone who likes to entertain and the house is a great place to do that.. Easy to have a band playing out on the patio and people milling around the living/dinning area and large patio
The bedrooms have fantastic beds/ bedding.. If you have travelled thru other parts of mexico you will understand why I note this! They are both comfortable, roomy and well decorated with their own bathrooms/shower which is great if you are sharing the house
I loved the location.. Everything you need closeby but for those who love to explore, a walk through all of San Miguel is a must, a few hills and half an hour walk from 19 Nunez will get you to the amazing botanical gardens overlooking San Miguel
My experience was great, it felt like a home away from home not just a place to stay. The owners, Denis and Patti were most helpful in answering any questions I had They are quite involved in the community in many ways so are a wealth of information if you are interested. As well, their delightful housekeeper Vicki who comes three times a week was so kind and helpful, especially kind to tolerate my very bad Spanish!
I was lucky enough to stay in this lovely home more than once .. December 2013 and back for two months March and April 2014. Please note the system did not allow. Me to enter my correct dates as I am late writing this review )"

A gracious hostess and a beautiful garden property in the heart of town
"We are just back from a month in "The Villa" at Casa Mandu and couldn't recommend it more highly. It is such a beautiful property, hidden behind unassuming walls. The property is well maintained by a friendly and highly competent staff. The beds are VERY comfy and the indoor/outdoor areas make it a relaxing getaway. However, the best part of the property is Ruth, the owner. Although we had been to San Miguel before and came armed with the requisite guide books, Ruth was invaluable pointing out music and restaurants and events that we would never have found on our own. We felt like we had our own private concierge. By the end of our stay, she even organized a farewell wine party for us and our other new found friends staying in the "Casita" below but also on the property. Oh, and I forgot, the other important feature is the proximity to Le Jardin (the main town square). Taxis are inexpensive but this town is a walking town. Bring your tennis shoes or rubber soled shoes...the cobblestones are quite slippery especially in the rain. I would not hesitate to recommend this property and hope to come back in the future. We miss you already Ruth!"

"We just stayed for a week in a cute and convenient casita in San Miguel. It was perfect for our needs and close to everything. The owner was very responsive and helpful with all our questions. We would stay again for sure!! R & J"
