"I spent the first few days with a close friend and the remainder of the time with myself. The rooftop is the perfect spot for sunrises and sunsets and the house is just lovely and the house is comfortable in clean. I loved the location once I acquainted myself with the best routes to get where I wanted to be and enjoyed the stroll to nearby restaurants, the park, and Centro.
While there are a ton of boutique hotels here, having my own kitchen, washer, and private patio was perfect for me, especially if you want to enjoy the delicious findings at the market to prepare your own food!
The house manager was very helpful and all transactions were super easy. I highly recommenf San Miguel de Allende and this property."

"My husband and I stayed in this apartment for about 10 nights in early February 2015. The photos are representative of the space, but what we loved the most is that it is very bright (which is not the case in a lot of Mexican homes). The sun shines into the apartment all day due to huge windows along 2 walls. It is a short walk into town, but quiet. The kitchen is small, but well equipped with anything you will need (eating area is quite large, however). The apartment is spacious, beautifully decorated and having 2 bathrooms was great. There was no washing machine, but we gave our laundry to Maria, the house keeper and she did a couple of loads for us at a very reasonable price. The large bed is very comfortable and there is a lot of storage in the bedroom. The terrace was our favorite place to sit and read a book or have a cocktail before heading into town for dinner. There are several excellent restaurants within a 10 minute walk of the apartment.
The property manager was very easy to work with (and English speaking). I forgot my passport in the bedroom cabinet and noticed this several hours after we had checked out. Erika worked with me to retrieve the passport and get it back to me. Without her cooperation, this could have been a nightmare. Overall a great stay, and if we are back in San Miguel, I would definitely stay here again. Absolutely loved it!"

"Our family from Canada and the U.S. united at Casa LaRuina. Each had beautiful art-filled private accommodations and came together each day in the lush patios and roof-top gardens of the house for drinks and meals. The casa was a perfect base from which to explore the many restaurants, gardens, art galleries and music, or just stroll through the streets of the magical city of San Miguel Allende."

"My son and I had a magical time during our week at the casa and in San Miguel de Allende. This home is a beautiful, comfortable retreat that is exactly as pictured. It is lovingly maintained and, during our stay, cared for by a delightful housekeeper who was also kind enough to teach us a little Spanish every time we saw her. The home had everything we needed, and when we wanted to take a break from exploring, we had an eclectic library of books and videos to keep us entertained, along with plenty of sunny verandas to choose from for relaxing. The casa is a short walk away from the center of the city (10-15 mins, slight uphill on the return) and located in a neighborhood with mostly Mexican families. The owner of the casa, Tim, was incredibly gracious and easy to work with from start to finish. We so appreciated the starter groceries left for our first morning after a late night arrival, beautiful vases of fresh flowers, and the helpful list of his favorite restaurants and recommended experiences in the city and beyond. We thoroughly enjoyed our adventures in San Miguel de Allende. It is a charming city full of surprises at every turn, behind every door, and in every courtyard. The people we encountered were gracious and helpful and so patient with our attempts at Spanish. We loved our meals and the gorgeous views at the rooftop restaurant La Posadita, and breakfast in the courtyard of Hotel Posada Carmina. The Lavanda Cafe was a charming gem of a restaurant as well. We enjoyed the Jardin Botanica (a short taxi ride away), the Allende Museum, exploring the many artist’s studios and shops at La Fabrica de Aurora (5 mins from the casa), and walking, walking everywhere (comfortable shoes are a must on the cobblestones). Thank you, Tim and Maru, for a wonderful stay. We hope to return soon to continue the adventure. – Debbie and Ryan, Santa Barbara"
