  • Great location!

"The Casita Centro is two blocks away from the Jardin. Two blocks! You cannot get a better location than this. Close to the action, plenty of shops & restaurants close-by, and with a grocery store on the next street. It is on the second floor and the apt does not have an elevator, so be aware of that. If you don't like stairs, rent the downstairs apt. All in all a great apt in a great location. The only reason I'm not giving it 5stars is the bed. It is VERY firm...almost too firm. But other than that, I'd definitely stay here again."

  • Architect's Delight

"This house is magical. For our group of architects its plan is refreshingly straight-forward and clear - a central garden/hall, bedrooms on the west, kitchen, dining, sitting on the east, beautiful sitting areas in the back of the garden, halfway to the roof top terrace at the north end, and, of course, a beautiful roof top available for morning meditation, yoga, reading, and margaritas later in the day. And for New Englanders what a treat to be living on roof tops in the sky and not hiding under the roof to avoid the snow. And the location, slightly away but only a few blocks above the Jardin, and part way up to the botanical garden, is perfect."

  • Awesome VIEW, Best Location & Value for the Price!

"We stayed for 3 months from Feb 1st - May 30th, 2014, & it's certainly an experience that we'll never forget! Waking in the morning & sitting on the balcony with our tea & coffee as the Hummingbirds on our balcony put on a show for us, was absolutely wonderful! Looking out of the floor to ceiling windows in the living room, the whole town is spread out before you - the view (to the west) is enchanting. Every sunset was different & in the evening the skies were illuminated by thousands of crystalline lights as the sounds of the city drifted upwards to our ears. Giant Great Egrets flew by us in the mornings almost within reach, as they made their way to the Presa. We counted 41 different species of Birds that we saw from our balcony or the Roof-Top. The condo is comfortable, clean & very Mexican in character, with a sunken living room & a kitchen that was out-fitted much better than our own is back-home! Sunlight streams in through skylights that are strategically placed in all-the-right places through-out the condo, giving the place a bright & cheery feel. The bed was cosy & comfy as well! We would be there still if we had not found a full-time rental! The photos really do show the place as-it-is. And what is really great, is that it's not even a 5 minute walk to the Jardin! You just can't lose on this one! It's a perfect little Gem!"

  • A Wonderful Stay in a Very Special Place!

"I was part of a group of two couples who stayed at this beautiful home in San Miguel for a week (during Holy Week). It was the perfect size for the four of us with one bedroom on the first floor, the living room/dining room/kitchen on the second floor, the second bedroom on the third floor, and a lovely rooftop terrace above that (the pictures are very accurate). We spent several evenings on the rooftop terrace, sipping wine, engaging in long conversations, and taking in the absolutely gorgeous views. This house is truly beautifully designed and there's nothing we would have changed about it. We felt very much at home. And it was only about a 10 minute walk to the town center. The walk to the center involves a steady incline but then of course the walk back to the house is all downhill (which is welcome after having a couple of margaritas in the center). We never took a cab, except for when we took day trips outside of town. The owners were very hospitable in all of our correspondences and provided us with a nice packet of recommendations and maps. Carmen, the housekeeper, is also very kind and helpful. She was just finishing up when we arrived and gave us a tour of the house and answered some of our questions. Everything went smoothly and staying at this house was a pleasure. We're so grateful to have found this gem in the neighborhood of San Antonio. And as it was Holy Week, the town was especially crowded, so we were happy to be staying a bit off the beaten track in a quieter part of town. A few places, restaurants, experiences that we especially enjoyed include: Mariscolandia (a really delicious and inexpensive, local seafood restaurant in the San Antonio neighborhood), Santos (a very hip, affordable, yummy seafood restaurant with live music closer to the center), la Fabrica (a fabric factory that has been converted into an art gallery), the Art Institute (which had a really cool artist market happening when we stopped by), the bibliotica/library (which has a beautiful courtyard and cafe), horseback riding with Tomas (a suggestion that the owners gave to us which turned out to be one of the biggest highlights of our trip), and the list goes on! We couldn't have imagined a better, more magical experience in San Miguel and this house made for the perfect home during our stay!"
