  • Excellent house to rent in San Miguel de Allende

"We spent a great week in SMA with another couple at this excellent house. It was beautiful, clean, comfortable, secure, fully furnished, and well appointed. It has an outdoor atrium with a fountain. The house has several fireplaces. It is within easy walking distance to the center of town, called the Jardin, and many great restaurants. You do not need a car to stay here. I would recommend this house to anyone. Excellent value for the price."

  • A beautiful home with all the amenities… and more

"My husband and I so enjoyed our stay in this lovely home in the Atascadero neighborhood of San Miguel. The house is beyond comfortable…spacious, nicely appointed, three fireplaces and extra heaters for chilly evenings, plus the ultimate special touch of electric mattress pad warmers on every bed. Everything you need in your home-away-from-home has been considered. What a delight! The owner, Carol, is an absolute pleasure to work with. It is obvious that she genuinely cares about the people renting her home and treats them as her guests, not her tenants. And the housekeeper, Judith, is Carol’s on-site representative, making sure you have everything you need. She is also a fantastic cook and speaks very good English. The Atascadero neighborhood is quiet and lovely to walk around. It’s only a 20-minute walk (downhill) into town. We also walked back up the hill most days – it’s a good way to work off the wonderful food in San Miguel. This is a pet-friendly home that is wonderful for dogs. Ours spent hours happily lounging in the garden and there are great places to walk them in the neighborhood. However, if you are not a dog-person, don’t worry. The home is spotless, so you’d never know they were there. The house, casita, gardens and roof deck are all nicely appointed. This is definitely “our home” the next time we visit San Miguel."

  • Great get-away in San Miguel

"A group of adults (siblings and their spouses) spent two weeks at Casa Madelan in January 2015. This was our first visit to San Miguel and we were delighted. It was warm and sunny during the day, though cooler at night. I agree with all the comments of others about Casa Madeleine. It is a lovely house, very comfortable, and quickly comes to feel like "home". We particularly enjoyed lounging on the second level terrace in the afternoons -- it is the perfect place for reading or napping! We typically cooked breakfast at the house and had dinner at home several times. The kitchen is large and very functional, and the large dining room is very pleasant. Casa Madelan is very well located. It is away from the Jardin and busier parts of San Miguel but close enough for easy walking everywhere. The house is about two blocks from the fruit and vegetable market and the associated meat and chicken butchers -- great fresh produce and meat! It is an easy, flat walk from the house to the Jardin and the other principal sights of San Miguel. The property manager, Erika, is extremely pleasant and helpful. Besides helping with questions about the house, Erika helped arrange several tours for us to nearby historic sights. It is also very pleasant to communicate with the property owner, Alan, who is prompt in responding to any questions."
