  • San Miguel de Allende with Family

"We felt so lucky to find and stay a week at "Manto de Luna". This home has a great spirit. We stayed with our two young daughters and enjoyed all the beautiful views and comfortable, relaxing spaces throughout this home. We walked every day to town and felt very safe in the neighborhood. San Miguel de Allende is a very family-friendly town. So much to see and do. We took full advantage of the owner's list of places to see and things to do. Then it was great to come back from all of the activities in downtown each day to such a nice, comfortable home. The house is very well equipped with everything you need in the kitchen. We even prepared a big breakfast and served it on the rooftop terrace one day and it was absolutely amazing!"

  • Lovely house in very quiet neighborhood

"This house was so much more than we had hoped for. The photos in the listing do not do it justice: it is all that and much more. The view from the upper roof garden (yes, there are two roof gardens) is just fabulous. Veronica keeps the house absolutely spotless: fresh towels and (I think) fresh sheets every day are an absolute treat. Insider tip: let her decide what to make for breakfast! Absolutely the only downside of this place is the walk uphill back to the house: don't forget that you are at 6500 feet above sea level. Your lungs will remind you! Fortunately, it's only about 50 pesos (currently ~ 3 USD) for a taxi: highly recommended, especially in the heat of the afternoon."

  • Magical Home in a Magical City

"We just returned from a glorious week’s stay at Casa del Encanto. This was our first trip to San Miguel and I cannot imagine a more perfect spot from which to explore this magical city. From our initial inquiry, contact/information from the owners was quick, thorough and very helpful. As the previous reviewer indicated, the photos do not do this property justice. It is incredibly comfortable, beautifully appointed and perfectly situated for a stay in SMA. Graciela, the housekeeper, helped make our visit memorable. She made delicious breakfasts for us each day—varied in content and always ready at the time desired. It really is less than 10 minutes walk to the Jardin—the epicenter of all activity in town. There seemed to be some live music there every time we arrived. The home, with three bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, is perfectly suited to couples/friends traveling together. Additionally, the various sitting rooms and sala, as well as the incomparable courtyard (with fireplace!), means that there’s always a private space when you want to ‘be alone’. The rooftop is ideal for viewing magnificent sunsets and the frequent displays of fireworks. The owners have clearly taken great care in furnishing and decorating this beautiful home. You really do feel like you are visiting friends. We would not look at another property if/when we return to San Miguel."

  • Absolutely perfect!

"I spent two weeks in this beautiful home along with my two sisters and it was a magical experience. First of all, the house is just stunning. It is flooded with natural light and at every turn, there is another beautiful piece of art or native artifact to enjoy. All our beds were super comfy, the linens and towels are luxury quality. The owner (who is delightful by the way) seems to have anticipated your every need with hair dryers and robes in every bathroom, a fully stocked kitchen, maps and informational materials, a great library -- even a bucket of umbrellas at the door. I told her next time, I won't bother to pack! It was all there! The location is perfect -- steps away from the 5-star Rosewood and Matilda hotels/restaurants, the most beautiful park in town and just a few blocks from the Jardin. There are three levels of flowered patios and terraces with the top ones yielding breath-taking views in all directions. I watched a full lunar eclipse from the top terrace. Magic! We hosted a dinner for friends on the patio one evening, all authentic local cuisine prepared by Maria, the housekeeper/chef. I have saved the best for last; that's the staff. Jose keeps the gardens in pristine condition, every flower pot is watered, every fallen leaf removed. He even fixed my broken eye glasses. And there is a good reason everyone tries to steal Maria. That woman can cook and seems to love doing it. She just couldn't do enough for us -- laundry, grocery shopping, making beds and keeping the house clean with fresh flower bouquets everywhere. I've rented homes in SMA for nearly 35 years. This was the best one by far. Can't wait to go back and next time it will be for more than two weeks."
