  • Fine Living in San Miguel

"Beautiful upscale home with all modern amenities. Fully equipped kitchen with the best quality utencils and appliances. With several sitting areas through out the house it was easy for either one of us to sneak in a moment of quiet time to relax and read a book. We had plenty of choices, from sitting down stairs in the patio by the tree to going all the way upstairs to the terrace to enjoy the nightly fireworks with a glass of wine. This home was designed and furnished by it's owners, whom spared no expense in building a five star home around a magnificent tree.Truly magazine worthy! Location is excellent, quiet street, 4 houses away from a main street. Everything is at walking distance. The house is located on a flat street which is ideal in San Miguel. There are small grocery stores, wine shops, restaurants just a few blocks away and the Rosewood Hotel practically right across the street. The cathedral can be seen from the house terrace and can be walked to in 10 minutes. The house comes with the service of a housekeeper who comes for a few hours a day and a gardener who comes a few days a week to trim and maintain the grounds. The owners are the most delightful couple who make you feel like a friend from the beginning. Max and Alice took time to show us around the house and truly make us feel comfortable in their home. Truly we can't say enough, we loved staying in Casa Alicia."

  • Perfect Thanksgiving Holiday

"My friend and I decided to spend our Thanksgiving this year in San Miguel and we searched for a wonderful home to serve as our base. We were extremely fortunate to find this property and book it. The owner offers many additional services such as airport pick up, staff to provide cooking and meals, and private tours of neighboring towns. We took him up on all of those services and weren't disappointed. In fact, he patiently waited for our plane which was two hours late in the early morning hours of our arrival. He also provided an amazing tour of Guanajuato weaving in historical information with his own personal stories of life in Mexico. Owner Jack soon became a fast friend with his generosity of spirit and knowledge. As for the home - it is in the perfect location. It's a fairly flat walk into the Jardin and other local sites and eateries. The decor and style of the home reflects the beauty of the area and the vibrant culture of the area. My friend and I were able to use the two main home bedrooms and baths, providing privacy for each of us. Downstairs includes large, comfortable living areas and a conveniently located half-bath. While we did not use the additional space, there is a studio apartment available if three separate adults or couples want to rent this property. One of my fondest memories of this trip will be our Thanksgiving night. While we went out to a late lunch for dinner, we hosted a small group of six (including Jack) and the home for evening Margaritas and chips and guacamole and Swedish meatballs (food prepared by cook/house keeper Dolores). The food was amazing and just perfect after a late afternoon meal and Jack personally prepared his award-winning Margaritas! In addition, we love Dolores. Greeted us every morning with a light breakfast, coffee or tea, and fresh-squeezed juice. You can't go wrong staying at this property. While I don't often return to a vacation spot, I would return to San Miguel and this beautiful home. Inside and out (gorgeous gardens and a park immediately next store) make this an unforgettable place for your San Miguel visit!"

  • Wandering, Rest, Relaxation

"I spent the first few days with a close friend and the remainder of the time with myself. The rooftop is the perfect spot for sunrises and sunsets and the house is just lovely and the house is comfortable in clean. I loved the location once I acquainted myself with the best routes to get where I wanted to be and enjoyed the stroll to nearby restaurants, the park, and Centro. While there are a ton of boutique hotels here, having my own kitchen, washer, and private patio was perfect for me, especially if you want to enjoy the delicious findings at the market to prepare your own food! The house manager was very helpful and all transactions were super easy. I highly recommenf San Miguel de Allende and this property."

  • Casa Rosa - Beautiful indoor and outdoor spaces and very well priced

"My family and several guests spent a happy month here. The house is unusual in that it is set back from the street, making it by far the quietest of the 3 houses we've stayed at in SMA. There are 4 bedrooms, though the one on the ground floor has a clear glass door (which we covered with a blanket). The master bedroom is really beautiful and has a lovely view out to the garden. 2 of the other bedrooms are a little plain and could use some colorful paint as in the rest of the house. One bedroom has only 1 little window that turned out to be soldered closed, so it was quite hot for sleeping in the summer. We were thrilled with the 2 sinks in the upper bathroom and the showers were great. There is folk art and the artist's paintings throughout the house. We found the kitchen large and attractive, but difficult to actually cook in daily. Things like knives, silverware, spatulas and serving bowls could use an updating. The fridge is small, old, and very noisy and the toaster didn't work. The outdoor spaces are lovely, though. You can bring your meals outside to the ground floor garden, the second floor balcony, or for a good workout the roof top terrazzo on the 4th floor. More trays (or a pulley system) would help make this easier. The terrazzo has an amazing 365 degree view of all the areas churches as well as the surrounding hills. It is covered for shade and the mosquitos don't fly up that high, making it a wonderful space any time of the day. The maid and gardener are a friendly helpful couple who come twice a week. There is a washer, but no dryer and the clothes line is on the 3rd floor. Also good exercise. The location was excellent for Josefina's spanish summer camp and the Instituto (both 5 min. walks) . Also very convenient to many restaurants and shops on Ancha de San Antonia. Two hotels with day use pool are a 10min walk away. The central Jardin is a good 20 min walk away, which sometimes felt too far for more than once a day with kids. I would happily stay here again - I think it was a wonderful deal for the price, given the number of bedrooms, the size, and the good location, in comparison to many other properties I looked into."
