  • Like your own personal boutique hotel...

"Casita Laurita is a wonderful place to stay. Every detail in the house was done with impeccable care. The townhouse feels airy and spacious, with beautiful plants and art. I particularly loved the studio, which had a huge desk and library, and a little balcony--a perfect place to work, and even with a little place to nap. The kitchen was built by someone who clearly loves to cook, because it has everything. The location is perfect--right near the artisan mercado, and also close to the Aurora, and only a few flat blocks to the jardin. It's a whole house that feels like a boutique hotel, right in the centro, for about the price of a moderate hotel room. Great beds, linens...everything has been well-considered. And have a margarita on the roof, with its panorama of all of San Miguel de Allende! The property manager, Guillermo, was so friendly, he made us feel right at home. Good place for couples who want an occasional visitor, or two friends who want their own private bedroom and bath."

  • Great place to stay in San miguel

"My wife, my dog and I stayed here in December. We had the upstairs apartment and it was great. The owner was there during our stay. She is very kind, and a talented artist and poet. She was very helpful throughout our stay with recommendations, advice, and even booked things for us to do! The apartment is fully furnished and is in a fantastic location. It was an easy walk to Centro and most anywhere we wanted to go. If we wanted to go further out, taxis were not too expensive and easy to pick up a few blocks away. There are fresh produce markets nearby on the weekend and many small neighborhood shops should you need something straight away."

  • Three weeks of delicious comfort

"Even before you reach the house, from a block away, we felt like we we entering an enclave of bogenvilla draped town homes. Upon entering the secured house walkway garden, there is no denying that a sense of peace permeates going home to Casa Esteban. We found the house decorated to our pleasure. Its gardens were beautifully landscaped, and don't forget to spend time on the furnished outdoor rooftop living and dining area. Thanks to a well stocked kitchen and all of the above this was a perfect three week stay."

  • Charming and Lovely Casa

"My friend and I stayed at Casa Amarillo in early November 2014 and I can't imagine staying anywhere else. I visited SMA last year and enjoyed it, and while there, saw this charming enclave of townhouses through the gates, so it was wonderful to discover this was the same place. The photos do not do it justice---very spacious, light, and comfortable, with any amenity you could want (except the dishwasher which isn't needed). Maria, the housekeeper, comes 3 times a week, and is so nice, friendly and goes out of her way to make you feel welcome and comfortable. The roof terrace has fabulous views, and the patios make it feel open and spacious. The two bedrooms with ensuite baths are both upstairs with a TV area in between. Both are very comfortable with those delightful boveda brick ceilings. There is also a powder room on the first floor. The location is excellent too---around the corner from the Rosewood Hotel which is a must do for the first night. Have a drink on their roof terrace---fabulous. Also on Saturday, the casa is a short walk from the farmer's market. Filtered water is abundant. The town of SMA is safe, and this is particularly safe and only about a 10 minute walk from the main square. A car is not needed at all. Thank you Peter, Gwen, and Maria!"

Getting to Central Mexico Vacation Houses

The main access point to the central region of Mexico is through the capital Mexico City. The Benito Juarez International Airport is located in Mexico City. It is one of Central America’s busiest airports and its expansion has only been hampered by the fact that it is surrounded by residential and commercial property. A secondary airport is the Toluca airport which handles domestic and private charter flights. The Mexico City Airport hosts most major North and South American carriers. There are regularly scheduled flights that operate daily between Mexico City and destinations such as Houston, Atlanta, Miami, Las Vegas and Dallas. If traveling from other parts of the United States or Canada, you can route via any one of these major hubs. A bus terminal located outside the airport provides public transportation to other parts of Mexico City. If you plan to explore further afield, it may be a good idea to hire a car for the duration of your stay.
