  • A beautiful house in an incredible city

"My wife and I, along with our close friends and traveling companions, spent a wonderful week in San Miguel and stayed at Casa del Alma. The house is in a great location: easy walking distance from downtown but just far enough out to escape a lot of the street noise. The house is laid out perfectly and the furniture and furnishings are a treat in themselves. Araceli, the housekeeper, is incredible and was very helpful. The house has everything you could possible need. All you need is food, some wine and cold Victoria's and you are all set. Make sure you sit up on the roof top terrace just before sunset. A glass of wine, some bread and cheese and that view and you won't want to leave. There are several good options within a few minutes walk for groceries and there is an incredible Rotisserie chicken stand right up on Canal, just across the bridge - less then 5 minute walk. For the grand price of 60 pesos (4USD) you can get a great rotisserie chicken, with onions soaked in the juices). That, some wine or cold Victoria's, sitting in the courtyard for dinner, with some church bells in the background. Better than any fancy hotel dining room anywhere in the world. We walked just about everywhere from Casa del Alma. Those places that we decided to use a taxi to reach, cost us all of 30 to 40 pesos. Cheaper than the chicken. And all the cab drivers, and everyone we met, were friendly and very helpful. San Miguel de Allende is an incredible city. And Casa de Alma is the perfect place to base yourself to experience it. The churches, the beautiful parks, the incredible views around every corner and the people. San Miguel de Allende is a magical city, and her people are very friendly and inviting."

  • Fun, entertaining home

"Great family home with nice staff to cook and clean. We had our family and friends come and we all had a great time! Internet worked good and the food was yummy. Great spot on the lake close to marina area and the plaza for shopping. Make sure you speak Spanish or have your computer to translate as staff speaks Spanish only. Highly recommend for a family getaway. Tons of cool things to hike up or shop around. We brought young kids also, 9 month old, 16 month old and 5 yr old! The pool was a big success! Kept clean and warm. Great not having to cook and clean, spend more time with the family. It did get warm at night, some fans would have helped some."

  • Loved it!

"We recently stayed in Casita Lirio in Cinco Flores. My family of 3 had a wonderful first visit to San Miguel and a wonderful time at Cinco Flores! Casita Lirio was perfect in every way: it was very pretty; it was well maintained, decorated, supplied, and appointed; and it was comfortable, peaceful, and close to the square (the main center of everything). The patio was beautiful. We had such a short walk to the restaurants, shops, and square – it was great! We worked mainly with Robert. He was very prompt, quite helpful, and professional in all of our communications. I can’t think of any ‘extras’ that are needed or desired. We would definitely stay at Cinco Flores again! :)"

  • It's a Gem!

"My husband and I rented Casa Gilberto for the month of February 2015 and couldn't have been happier with our choice. The 2-bedroom home was everything we wanted and had everything we needed. The gardens are lovely. The Pratts (who live next door) are outstanding hosts, welcoming, available as needed, and ever helpful. We enjoyed our daily walk to the centre of town (El Jardin) whick took about 15 minutes, all downhill. After a few days of adjusting to the altitude (SMA is over 5000 feet above sealevel), I started to enjoy the walk back up as well. For those not inclined, taxis to anywhere in San Miguel cost a very affordable 35 pesos. SMA itself is a wonderful place, so much to do, and no need for a car. We warmly recommend Casa Gilberto based on experience, as well as the 2nd smaller property based on looks."

Getting to Central Mexico Vacation Houses

The main access point to the central region of Mexico is through the capital Mexico City. The Benito Juarez International Airport is located in Mexico City. It is one of Central America’s busiest airports and its expansion has only been hampered by the fact that it is surrounded by residential and commercial property. A secondary airport is the Toluca airport which handles domestic and private charter flights. The Mexico City Airport hosts most major North and South American carriers. There are regularly scheduled flights that operate daily between Mexico City and destinations such as Houston, Atlanta, Miami, Las Vegas and Dallas. If traveling from other parts of the United States or Canada, you can route via any one of these major hubs. A bus terminal located outside the airport provides public transportation to other parts of Mexico City. If you plan to explore further afield, it may be a good idea to hire a car for the duration of your stay.
