  • A Wonderful Stay in a Very Special Place!

"I was part of a group of two couples who stayed at this beautiful home in San Miguel for a week (during Holy Week). It was the perfect size for the four of us with one bedroom on the first floor, the living room/dining room/kitchen on the second floor, the second bedroom on the third floor, and a lovely rooftop terrace above that (the pictures are very accurate). We spent several evenings on the rooftop terrace, sipping wine, engaging in long conversations, and taking in the absolutely gorgeous views. This house is truly beautifully designed and there's nothing we would have changed about it. We felt very much at home. And it was only about a 10 minute walk to the town center. The walk to the center involves a steady incline but then of course the walk back to the house is all downhill (which is welcome after having a couple of margaritas in the center). We never took a cab, except for when we took day trips outside of town. The owners were very hospitable in all of our correspondences and provided us with a nice packet of recommendations and maps. Carmen, the housekeeper, is also very kind and helpful. She was just finishing up when we arrived and gave us a tour of the house and answered some of our questions. Everything went smoothly and staying at this house was a pleasure. We're so grateful to have found this gem in the neighborhood of San Antonio. And as it was Holy Week, the town was especially crowded, so we were happy to be staying a bit off the beaten track in a quieter part of town. A few places, restaurants, experiences that we especially enjoyed include: Mariscolandia (a really delicious and inexpensive, local seafood restaurant in the San Antonio neighborhood), Santos (a very hip, affordable, yummy seafood restaurant with live music closer to the center), la Fabrica (a fabric factory that has been converted into an art gallery), the Art Institute (which had a really cool artist market happening when we stopped by), the bibliotica/library (which has a beautiful courtyard and cafe), horseback riding with Tomas (a suggestion that the owners gave to us which turned out to be one of the biggest highlights of our trip), and the list goes on! We couldn't have imagined a better, more magical experience in San Miguel and this house made for the perfect home during our stay!"

  • We have found THE home to stay in while in San Miguel

"We rent for a month every year - this was our first year at Casa 20- and we won't rent anywhere else again. We love the location - 6 minutes walk to the Jardin -great restaurants but still feel like we are in Mexico. The house itself is dramatic and wonderful.Furnished with attention to detail and great art. When you open the doors and see the Roman pool with glass doors, a large kitchen and dining and guest bedroom on main floor to upstairs with a gracious living room, terrific office and master bedroom, and up to the FABULOUS rooftop terrace you couldn't ask for more. Housekeeping six days a week is a total luxury."

  • Casa De Las Divas - Best Hidden Secret of SMA

"San Miguel’s best hidden secret is Casa De Las Divas! I had the most wonderful 9 day stay in the Upper Casita. It is beautifully decorated with colorful artifacts reflecting the cultural arts of Mexico. And, don’t miss the historical boveda brick ceilings in the Upper Casita. Being setback in the patio area was most serene and quiet, along with the beautiful views of the courtyard. But a more breathtaking view of San Miguel was from the garden rooftop terrace, a surround-vista of history. The casita is located in the best Centro location! It is so convenient walking to the Jardin, Parroquia, Artesanias Mercado and so much more. But most of all, the hospitality of Melissa, the owner, was wonderful! She was so helpful with suggestions from restaurants, shopping to the best bakery in town. And so accommodating by providing a water cooler for your convenience. Plus, free long distance calls to US and wifi. Melissa is the perfect host, thinking of her guests comfort and stress-free stay. She made my first visit to San Miguel a memorable one. I’m definitely returning to my casita – soon. Thank you Melissa ~"

Getting to Central Mexico Vacation Houses

The main access point to the central region of Mexico is through the capital Mexico City. The Benito Juarez International Airport is located in Mexico City. It is one of Central America’s busiest airports and its expansion has only been hampered by the fact that it is surrounded by residential and commercial property. A secondary airport is the Toluca airport which handles domestic and private charter flights. The Mexico City Airport hosts most major North and South American carriers. There are regularly scheduled flights that operate daily between Mexico City and destinations such as Houston, Atlanta, Miami, Las Vegas and Dallas. If traveling from other parts of the United States or Canada, you can route via any one of these major hubs. A bus terminal located outside the airport provides public transportation to other parts of Mexico City. If you plan to explore further afield, it may be a good idea to hire a car for the duration of your stay.
