  • Perfect Mexican vacation

"We stayed in this area of Mexico three times prior. We stayed at all inclusive a, an apartment hotel in Santiago and a house in la Manzanillo (for 3 months). This has been the best of all! It is a roomy, comfortable, beautifully decorated apartment. The gated community offers excellent security and the Oasis restaurant is truly wonderful for a few hours on the beach, a lunch, or dinner in the restaurant. Many sounds fill the air, birds, happy families, music... Pool or beach, take your pick, both are great. The town of Miramar is a short walk for groceries. Mexico is a developing nation, and this is a perfect Mexican holiday location!"

  • Blain - Lethbridge, Alberta Canada

"We stayed at Randy's condo for 2 weeks in January 2014 and enjoyed our first visit to Manzanillo. The condo was wonderfully well equipped for cooking and very clean. Beds were super comfortable and A/C was appreciated as it was hot. We loved being able to sit on the balcony to see the ships coming and going and watch the gorgeous sunsets. Our grandchildren had so much fun building 'Thunder Canyons' in the sand and swimming in the pool. Savino - Randy's representative for the condo was great checking us in and out and seeing to any problems. Remember to take bug spray - the only downside!"

  • Best Vacation Rental - hands down!

"First of all let me just say I had a good impression of what the property was going to be like by how helpful, accommodating and friendly Michele was from the very beginning. We were a group of 14 visiting Manzanillo (5 couples and 4 kids). I have been to Manzanillo before and rented a different vacation house that looked good in the pictures but was nothing the way it seemed to be and fell short of expectations. Locals told me "nothing goes your way in Mexico". While that may be true of other vacation rentals, the opposite is the case with this property!! We were all very leery at first but let me just say... THE PICTURES AND ADVERTISMENT DO NOT DO THIS PLACE JUSTICE! This place is jaw dropping from the moment you walk up the steps into the house! The view is breathtaking alone, but when you couple it with the beautiful landscaping and palm trees and pool in the backyard, this place is paradise for rent! Not only is it beautiful on the outside but it is beautiful on the inside as well, beautiful decorations in all the rooms, the bathrooms are very luxurious with marble/tile. Some people are afraid of vacation rentals because in the pictures you can't see how clean it is, or you don't know whether the house smells. Let's just say this house is immaculate! At first we were worried about having a groundskeeper always around the property, but you hardly see him because he's always outside somewhere. All you have to do if you need something is yell "Pichardo!" And he comes running with a smile on his face! The staff is awesome. My friend accidentally fell into a manhole behind Walmart and cut open his leg, we didn't know what to do or where to go, so we raced home and yelled for Pichardo and he came running with the staff, one of the maids took it upon herself to clean up the wound for him (using first aid kit on hand) blood and all. Then Pichardo escorted us to the clinic and helped explain everything that happened to the doctor since we hardly spoke Spanish. All this was done out of the kindness of their hearts. (They deserved a good tip :) One thing that really surprised us was how amazing the air conditioning was in the rooms they got COLD! While there we decided to drive down the coast to compare other vacation rentals and no other rentals are as awesome as this one! The beach is quiet and clean! Across the street you have a little grocery mart, a laundromat, and within 2 blocks a hardware/fishing store & Kiosko. We will ONLY stay here from now on!!"

  • Incredible place!!!

"My family and I LOVED the place, the apartment is super cozy, all equiped, clean and with the most amazing view of the bay, we even saw whales from our balcony. People at the administration were helpful, friendly and provided all kind of information. What we liked the most is the friendly neighbords, we met a few at this INCREDIBLE pool and hang with them at the Palapa while waiting for the whales to stop by and say hello. I really recomend Brenda's place to stay in Manzanillo, she is adorable, everything she promised was there, ready for us to enjoy. Bedrooms are big and fresh, beds are confortable, bathroom with lots of light and space. Living and dinning room are very nice, kitchen is clean and fully equiped and the best part is that balcony where you can sit and read, play games, tan yourself and even have a BBQ!!! Thank you Brenda, we are looking forward to return soon. Karla Schiavoni +5233 3818 3261"

Colima Travel Tips

Visiting Colima Vacation Rentals

Colima is a small state located on Mexico's Riviera. It covers an area of only 2,004 square miles and is bordered by the states of Jalisco to the north and west and Michoacan to the east. Within the state, there are two major cities that attract visitors. Manzanillo is well known tourist resort area located on a beautiful stretch of coastline. It is also a major shipping port on Mexico's Pacific coast. Sixty-one miles inland from Manzanillo you will find the state capital of Colima which shares the same name and is the largest city in the state. The beautiful historic city was founded in the early 1500s and boasts some spectacular colonial architecture.

Travelling to Colima Vacation Rentals

The Colima regional airport known as the Miguel de la Madrid Airport is located approximately 12 kilometers from Colima's city center. International flights connect via Mexico City to most major hubs in North America. Some international Airlines fly directly into Colima. Manzanillo Airport is located just outside of the city off Highway 200. There is a regional bus service in Colima but you may want to consider renting a car or simply using local taxis to get around.

The Best Time of Year to Visit Colima

Located within the tropics, Colima has a warm climate year-round. In July and August it can be particularly hot and humid but it is still a popular summer vacation destination for travelers from North America. The region has summer rainfall and these are usually characterized by late afternoon or evening showers once or twice a week. The rain brings a welcome respite from the heat and transforms the landscape to a vibrant green. Unfortunately, Colima does lie within the hurricane belt and storms can occur in the later summer months. For sun lovers, Colima's coastal resorts can provide a balmy mid-winter break where you can get away from the snow and catch a tan, even in December.

Places to Visit From Colima Vacation Houses

To the north of Colima are two impressive volcanoes which are collectively known as Volcan de Colima. These two peaks are Volcan de Fuego which is at an altitude of 3,980 meters. It is the more active volcano. The Nevado de Colima is a snow-capped 4,323-meter peak. Volcan de Fuego is located approximately 60 miles northeast of Manzanillo and is considered to be one of Mexico's most dangerous volcanoes as it became increasingly active between 1999 and 2005. There have been few major eruptions since but the peak is closely monitored by the University of Colima.

On the way to visit the volcanoes, it's a worthwile experience to make a stop in the small town of Comala. There is a quaint church and beautiful garden on one side of the main road; on the other side is a collection of outdoor cafés. Stop here for a drink and you may get to sample some of the local cuisine as provided by the Los Portales.

Within the city of Colima and Manzanillo, there are several interesting museums. The museums are open weekdays and showcase exhibits that range from cultural artifacts to spectacular photo collections and human rights themes. You can also view the works of local artists at galleries and browse the many stores for souvenirs. Just outside of the city of Colima is the La Campana Archeological Zone. This is a small archeological dig site that is slowly being restored.

Near Colima condos, there are many outdoor activities to be enjoyed. The coastal resort city of Manzanillo has spectacularly beautiful beaches and is reputed to be one of the safest destinations in Mexico. Enjoy diving, snorkeling, surfing and cruising or simply relax on the powdery white sands. Inland from Manzanillo there are rock pools, lakes and lagoons that are great for paddling, kayaking and swimming.
