Privacy, Intimacy and Isolation on an Island (really a peninsula) Paradise
"We spent about 10 days at this lovely home on Isla Navidad. The house was beautifully maintained, and on the grounds of (though totally separate from) the Grand Isla Navidad Resort (although we had privileges there). At the villa was had our own small pool and daily maid service. The beach was nearby, although we didn't swim there, preferring to swim at the large hotel pool.
Not easily accessible without a car. We used our car daily to go to the resort and nearby towns, and to buy groceries and eat at restaurants (when we're weren't cooking at the villa).
Although the house didn't have cable or satellite TV, it had a selection of DVD's, and we also brought our own.
This is a great house to spend a vacation - it is private, reasonably luxurious, intimate and beautiful. The peninsula on which the hotel and villa sit is hilly and lush. Really beautiful, especially compared the the nearby villages, such as Barra de Navidad (where we often ate dinners).
Overall, I would rate this home as excellent."

"My family (3 adult couples) rented Castillo La Princesa in February, 2015. The villa was absolutely beautiful - it exceeded our expectations! One of the key reasons I selected La Princesa is that it offers 3 beautiful master bedroooms - which makes it great for 3 couples. The views of the harbor/Manzanillo and the open water were stunning. And the location is one of the best in La Punta… as we had sunshine from sunrise to sunset.
La Punta itself is a wonderful community - a perfect and safe location for a Mexican vacation.
The house staff, especially Ofelia and Jasmine, were both delightful and they made us feel most welcome. Ofelia’s cooking was fantastic and her willingness to satisfy the various food preferences of my family was appreciated.
The Owner was extremely helpful in providing various information and in being so caring. Dealing with her was a pleasure. While we never met, I felt as if the Owner was a long time family friend. Her suggestion to rent a car service was also very good advice. This service enabled us to visit sites, beaches, towns etc. that made our vacation in the Manzanillo area even more special."

"I have stayed at Casa de Las Palmeras three separate times for a month each time and have enjoyed every minute of it. It is truly a very special home in a very special place. It is situated about a fifteen minute walk from the center of downtown Colima, and is one of four houses in a gated villa surrounded by majestic trees and beautiful gardens. It has its own pool and a number of places to relax in the large yard. It is extremely private and can not be seen from the street. There is parking if you have a car and, if not, almost constant taxi service by just walking out the gate to the street. (A taxi almost anywhere in the city is only $2.00 to $5.00 dollars.)
I am amazed at how quiet and peaceful it is and yet practically in the middle of town. Laying by the pool it is so quiet that you could believe that you are in the country. The neighbors in the other houses are rarely seen and when they are they always smile and wave.
I frequently make the short walk into town to the plaza where there is always something happening: music, dancing, restaurants, cantinas, shopping and wonderful people watching.
The house itself is quite large and has two good sized bedrooms as well as TWO full bathrooms, a living room, dinning room and kitchen. There is a patio in front and a patio in back as well as another patio by the pool and a large beautifully manicured lawn. Spectacular flowers and plants abound and enough mangos for an army, plus several palm trees swaying in the breeze.
Colima summers are hot and there is no air conditioning, but by keeping the windows closed during the day and opening them in the early evening the house is quite comfortable. The rest of the year it is just warm, night and day. For some, pleasant, reason Colima has very few flying bugs. Rarely have I seen a fly and only heard a mosquito several times. If you have reason to be in Colima or just want to "get away," this is a rental that you should consider. I love the place."
