  • Breathtaking Home on gorgeous beach

"Villa Festiva exceeded all our expectations and is the most beautiful vacation home we have ever stayed in without a doubt. The architecture and decor were amazing. The house and grounds were immaculate. No detail in comfort overlooked. Instant hot water, very comfortable bed. Full outdoor kitchen with BBQ. The infinity pool was perfect for floating around with a drink in hand! The sandy beach and warm ocean water a stone's throw from the home. Outdoor shower. Numerous beach restuarants within walking distance. One restuarant, Roberto's, was a 2 minute walk down the beach. Fabulous food. Friendly local people and a safe neighborhood. Given over-inflated reports on crime in Mexico, we asked an American who lives in Troncones about the area. He told us that Toncones is extremely safe. Said that a few years earlier, two young men tried to burglarize a shop and that the local townspeople ran them out of the area. Crime is not tolerated. We enjoyed our evenings wandering the pristine beach, watching the sunset, sipping a drink and talking with wonderful people at the local restaurants. We even got the opportunity to see the baby sea turtles released to the sea. Tronocones is like the old Mexico I used to know 20 years ago and the best place to experience the magic is at Villa Festiva."

  • Amazing luxurious property in small Mexico village

"What a perfect and heavenly week, from start to finish. Every aspect of Casa En La Rocas was gorgeous and well thought out - it truly is an estate with breathtaking views and incredibly helpful staff (Blanca, Alberto and Naomi) and property management (Marianna, assisted by her husband Alejandro). The bedroooms are very clean with comfortable beds and outdoor showers (very private) are attached to each. The beach is easily accessible and the infinity pool is perfect, as is the area for outdoor bbq and multiple spots to sit and read. The town of Troncones is five minutes away by dirt road, and Alejandro runs a kayaking/hiking/outdoor tour company if you want to venture "off the island" - which is completely unnecessary. Blanca is an incredible cook; we loved her guacamole and eggs with chiroizo, not to mention grilled shrimp and steak. Marianna will work with you in advance to create a menu with anything you'd like. She will also arrange to do the shopping for you for an additional small charge. Likewise, she can arrange for a masseur to come to the house - thoroughly enjoyed by members of our group. We were then in off season so there were very few other tourists. However, a wonderful daily yoga class was offered in town at Present Moment, a retreat also on the Pacific and open to the public. The only downside, if there was one, was the spotty wifi. Bottom line, we can't wait to return!"

  • Heaven on Earth!!

"We spent 13 fabulous days and nights at this truly magnificent villa. There were 6 of us....two 86-year-olds, two 40-somethings, and 2 boys age 10 and 11. The house, grounds, pool and adjacent beach (literally 20 paces to the water's edge) were spectacular. The bedrooms spacious, beautifully appointed, and open to the soothing sound of the Pacific waves. The home is decorated with fabulous indigenous artwork and gorgeous furnishings, while remaing super comfortable. But truly the best part of our experience were Fanny and Oscar, the housekeepers. They cooked fabulous meals for us, taught my kids how to fish and took care of our every need. We will certainly be back to this lovely place!!"

  • Shh !

"Although this was our third trip to Troncones, it was our first experience at this particular residence. When we travel our family prefers the intimacy of a house rather than a "package deal." Casa Teresa suited us perfectly. It's location is close enough to the town center that we could walk down the beach for shopping, yoga or a meal out. With the new highway, a 20 min drive into Zihuatanejo, or a trip north to Manzanillo Bay for surfing & snorkeling are easily done. We, however, spent most of our time in private seclusion at the Casa. We relished the pool, the surf, the sunset and the tranquility of the house itself. We particularly enjoyed the warmth and culinary skills of Magdalena and her family. Her corn tortillas and guacamole are addictive, and her carnitas are exceptional! It was fun to explore some of the local restaurants, but our fondest memories are sitting at the dining room table and enjoying her fabulous Mexican food. Abram, Magdalena and their children are warm, hospitable, and always willing to help with anything at all. We hesitated to write this review because we selfishly want Troncones and Casa Teresa to remain our own little secret Shangri-la. Let’s not tell too many others!"
