  • 'A Piece of Heaven'!

"My husband and I stayed at Casa Porvenir for two weeks back in March. One would think it's odd to write a review six months after the fact, however, the truth is, Casa Porvenir is unforgettable! So much so, that my husband and I have booked 2 additional stays for November and another for March of 2015. This place is a piece of heaven. Its location is perfect for long walks on the beach and a quick jaunt to Manzanillo Bay in for 'Big Boy' margaritas (the best I have ever had!). The house is very private despite the open air concept throughout and oozes authentic Mexican charm. There isn't an amenity you require as the home is fully stocked with every cooking utensil and appliance you could need. If you enjoy cooking, I'd be sure to take advantage of the fish and vegetable truck that passes every day. The selection of fish and sea food is caught the night before and deliciously fresh and the produce is perfect for giving Mexican cuisine a try. Be sure to ask the housekeeper to cook you a meal or two, she's a wonderful cook. The staff respects your privacy while providing for your every need and they keep the house and property immaculate. Wayne and Jolene, the owners, are wonderfully accommodating and go out of their way to make your stay relaxing and special. My only warning is 'be careful, you could fall in love with Casa Porvenir and Troncones', we certainly have."

  • Amazing luxurious property in small Mexico village

"What a perfect and heavenly week, from start to finish. Every aspect of Casa En La Rocas was gorgeous and well thought out - it truly is an estate with breathtaking views and incredibly helpful staff (Blanca, Alberto and Naomi) and property management (Marianna, assisted by her husband Alejandro). The bedroooms are very clean with comfortable beds and outdoor showers (very private) are attached to each. The beach is easily accessible and the infinity pool is perfect, as is the area for outdoor bbq and multiple spots to sit and read. The town of Troncones is five minutes away by dirt road, and Alejandro runs a kayaking/hiking/outdoor tour company if you want to venture "off the island" - which is completely unnecessary. Blanca is an incredible cook; we loved her guacamole and eggs with chiroizo, not to mention grilled shrimp and steak. Marianna will work with you in advance to create a menu with anything you'd like. She will also arrange to do the shopping for you for an additional small charge. Likewise, she can arrange for a masseur to come to the house - thoroughly enjoyed by members of our group. We were then in off season so there were very few other tourists. However, a wonderful daily yoga class was offered in town at Present Moment, a retreat also on the Pacific and open to the public. The only downside, if there was one, was the spotty wifi. Bottom line, we can't wait to return!"

  • We are already planning our next visit!

"As we approached the villa, you could catch glimpses of it through the trees before pulling up to the gate of the property. Excitement grew in the car and then the gates opened. We had arrived in paradise. The property itself boasts three separate casitas, each one more spectacular than the next. The staff greeted us with fresh made guacamole and refreshing beverages. I’m so glad we had the staff take care of the shopping in advance because the fridge was fully stocked and the cervezas were flowing! Mari, the house attendant cooked most of our meals and since we were in Mexico, we wanted to eat as the locals. Everything from her Chicken Mole to her enchiladas was super tasty! We tried every activity we could from hiking through the mountains (with a guide of course), kayaking through the estuary, horseback riding on the beach and snorkeling. We went to Roberto’s on Saturday night and had the most delicious steaks ever and the margaritas were about as stiff as they come. No watered downed beverages here, that’s for sure! More than anything, relaxing by the pool or sitting in the tide pools directly in front of the villa is where I spent a lot of time. We went boogie boarding a few yards from the villa’s beach entrance where a rock free area lies. I can tell you, you have not lived until you’ve taken a few rides all the way to the shore! I even got to read a book cover to cover which is something I haven’t done in a couple years. Our stay at Villa Milagro was nothing short of amazing. We’re already making plans to go again next year."
