  • We want to go back!!!!

"We thoroughly enjoyed staying at this house and hope to have the opportunity to come back. The open-air living areas let you enjoy sights and sounds of the jungle and ocean at all times. It is in excellent condition, private, and Reyna keeps the place very clean. A great place to get away from the hustle bustle of life. The beach is a short walk away and surfing is close by. There were only 4 of us, but this place could comfortably accommodate more. Initially we thought not having internet access would be an issue, but we quickly came to appreciate the fact that it was not available unless we went to Troncones. You definitely need a car here. We arrived the day after Hurricane Amanda dumped a significant amount of rain in the area which caused an increase in bug activity. We learned quickly that turning on lights at night was not a good idea. The first evening we had the lights on in the kitchen while we were cooking, and as it got darker those lights were like magnets to some of the biggest bugs I’ve seen. Reyna had warned us about it, but we didn’t truly understand until we started getting dive bombed. It was pretty comical to us, but for some people it may have been too much to deal with. For the rest of our stay, we rarely turned lights on at night except for in the bedrooms with the glass doors shut. We had brought a couple flashlights which our kids decided were preferable to use at night rather than turning on lights when going downstairs. Fortunately there are night lights strategically placed around the house. Reyna is an awesome cook and is flexible about breakfast time. We walked down the beach several evenings to Martha’s Restaurant—a place we highly recommend. The food was great, Johnny speaks English and is a good host. We stopped at La Commercial upon arrival in Troncones to get groceries. The farmer’s market in Lagunillas on Monday provided an abundance of fresh fruit and veggies, and we found the tiny markets in Troncones had an amazing amount of stuff. The only complaint we had was the amount of scorpions & little crabs which came into the downstairs bedroom. Our adult children did a perimeter search every night before going to bed and always killed 1-2 scorpions and frequently found another one in the morning. Replacing or adding weather stripping of some kind under the doors may eliminate or reduce this problem. We hope to come back to stay at Princesa del Mar another time."

  • Tropical Paradise .... I was applauded by my group!

"I booked this property for our group, and when I got there 1 hour after they did... I was pleased to get a standing ovation! Kena is the cleaning lady, and she is very accommodating for whatever you need. The pool guy even took one of us lobster fishing one day! Use Gustavo for your car needs or airport shuttles, he is very prompt on returning your emails. The rooms/beds are very comfortable, and we all liked that they are private to not have to hear nightly activities if you don't want to hear them. The stereo was nice in the kitchen room that had speakers out by the pool. If we go again, we would remember to bring more CD's, or an adapter to play our own music. It is also great that there is a supply of cleanser for the fruit and vegetables to be washed in. Not sure if Craig supplied it, or if it was left over from last guests? Sergio cooked us a fabulous meal! We purchased shrimp and Mahi from the locals, and he dug through our fridge and put together e a feast! We paid him $80+tip and paid for our food. We also had fresh abalone, and muscles that the locals dug off the rocks in the surf right in front of us some days. Can't get any fresher! Vendors a few, and far between...but they will find what you want and bring it the next day! I would recommend getting peso's before you go. No banks there, and locals exchange rate is whatever they want it to be at times.....much easier having pesos for all! Thank you Craig, for sharing your place on's people like you that made our friends quit their locked in time-share!! They LOVE staying in new places and exploring different cities in Mexico other than Mazatlan every year after year! We got them to Ixtapa once, and were hooked on our adventures! Your place is wonderful!"

  • So mech better that expected - wonderful!!

"This property exceeds all expectations. It is a beautiful location, a beautiful property and quite literally paradise. I went for 8 days with my kids - we relaxed, swam in the ocean, rock climbed along the shore, swam in the ocean and RELAXED. The people who attend to the house are wonderful - Auroua and Bernardo were so sweet. It is VERY hard to find, but once you are there it is a destination. The drives to town are 15 minutes North to Troncones for some small restaurants and markets or 30 minutes to Zihuat and Ixtapa for city items. Lots of nature all around you - birds, critters, cats, a sweet dog who visits daily and AMAZING gardens. If you want to unplug off the grid of cell and internet, this is the place for you!"

  • Heaven on Earth!!

"We spent 13 fabulous days and nights at this truly magnificent villa. There were 6 of us....two 86-year-olds, two 40-somethings, and 2 boys age 10 and 11. The house, grounds, pool and adjacent beach (literally 20 paces to the water's edge) were spectacular. The bedrooms spacious, beautifully appointed, and open to the soothing sound of the Pacific waves. The home is decorated with fabulous indigenous artwork and gorgeous furnishings, while remaing super comfortable. But truly the best part of our experience were Fanny and Oscar, the housekeepers. They cooked fabulous meals for us, taught my kids how to fish and took care of our every need. We will certainly be back to this lovely place!!"
