  • a view burned into my mind forever

"My Husband and I just spent a beautiful week here. I have been waiting for many years to visit his part of Mexico. it had been calling me. Now I know why! I cannot say enough about C'est La vie. Harriett the owner has thought of everything. a kitchen better stocked than my own. beautiful linens and soft towels. the beds were superb - and I fell in love with the sling chair on the deck, staring out into the Bay every night falling asleep with the stars above. The infinity pool right below the deck was perfect. we took a dip everyday when we returned from la Ropa beach and spent a full day at the pool on Sunday. It was like having our own pool as no one was ever in it! so much better than having a tiny little plunge pool. I cannot wait to return, as I feel I have left part of my heart there......Be sure to use Harriett's "special" guide to Zihua. she won't steer your wrong! an added bonus to this property. Notes on Zihua- I would skip Las Gatas beach- or if you must go be sure to bring water shoes as the beach is very rocky and the chairs are right on top of each other along the beach. for an amazing romantic dinner be sure to check out la casa que canta. We headed into town most nights by cab - 40 pesos plus 10 peso tip - for dinner. amazing food every night with the help of harriett's guide. we especially liked Tamales and Atole Any and El Murmullo. On La Ropa beach - we loved spending our day at la Perla - buckets of 5 beers for 100 pesos - and your own waiter! we did the viceroy for the day which was lovely as a treat - but La perla has the better pricing and good beach chairs."

  • Wonderful vacation at Punta Marina

"My group of four recently returned after two weeks at Oscar's condo overlooking beautiful La Ropa beach. All through the process from initial inquiries to follow up after our return, Oscar was extremely helpful and always responded more quickly than expected. During the two week stay, Silvia came twice to clean the condo, change the beds and wash the bath towels. The condo has a magnificent view from both large balconies overlooking the bay. The property is spacious with all three bedrooms having ensuite baths. The kitchen has pretty much everything you need except an oven and dishwasher. There is a washing machine but no dryer in the suite, but since we had sun daily until the last night when it rained, everything dries quickly on the balcony. The property has a very nice pool and waterfall and the grounds are well maintained. There were never more than 6 or so people at the pool and frequently nobody at all. It is very quiet in the evening and you can sit on the balcony and listen to the cicadas chirping at night, with only the occasional band playing off in the distance at one of the local bars. Even then, by about 9 or 10 at night they stopped playing. We were a five minute walk down the hill to La Ropa beach, which is beautiful. It was nice coming down to the beach and finding lots of the local people down there, rather than a beach with only tourists. We enjoyed the seafood platters and margaritas at Restaurant Rossy (they have an expat 'band' playing Thur-Sat on the roof deck) and spent one lunch at La Perla although thought the food was better at other places. If you want more authentic food, find Mary's towards the other end of the beach. You can sit on the sand, or go back to the restaurant tucked in behind. I thought her shrimp tacos were the best. We spent quite a bit of time in town and got there by walking down the hill from the condo to the road by the beach. You will either find a taxi or the bus that goes right into the centre of Zihua to the mercado. You can buy lots of fresh produce and seafood/meats there. From there it is only a three block walk to the mercado artisano along the waterfront. There are lots of vendors in stalls and many artisan shops along the way and many restaurants along the waterfront. We had a couple of meals at La Sirena Gorda and Bandidos and enjoyed them. Overall a fabulous vacation for our group and we would not hesitate to recommend Oscar's condo and Zihuatanejo to others."

  • Clark's

"Delightful !!!! Over the past ten years, my husband and I have vacationed in six beach front villas in Mexico and Casa Rosa is by far our favorite! The beautiful house and grounds are perfect for relaxing and forgetting the cares of the world. The care takers, Andres and Alishea, could not have been more gracious and accommodating. Andres heard me say that I loved coconut water, so he had cold, coconut water for me everyday. We were there for St. Valentines Day. After a long day shopping, we arrived back at our room and found that Alishea had made two, darling little towel swans in the shape of a heart and a cute little towel dog that were setting on our bed. They were surrounded with colorful flower pedals. It was unexpected and such a thoughtful and beautiful gesture. That will be one of my favorite memories of our trip. Each morning we awoke to a delicious breakfast and each evening we watched the amazing sunset while we ate our perfectly prepared dinner poolside. Alishea is a very good cook. Her grilled meats, veggies and desert flan were fabulous. We were pleasantly surprised that the miles of pristine, coconut tree lined, coastline was mostly ours alone. We rarely saw anyone on the beach. We enjoyed day trips to nearby Zihuatanejo and Ixtapa for shopping and fishing and whale watching excursions were just down the beach at Barra De Potosi. There is a recently discovered archaeological site near Casa Rosa, with a museum and a small town nearby with gold mines. The manager, Orlando, and a local young man, Alex, were very friendly and spoke excellent English. They were very helpful in answering questions and making suggestions for tours. Our time spent at Casa Rosa will be cherished and we plan to return."
