"We stayed here for a week over Christmas 2014. The Apartment was exactly as advertised. There is a nice, large deck that has great views. The inside is larger than I expected and has a very open layout. We were able to keep the deck doors open the entire time allowing us to enjoy the sound of the ocean to put us to sleep each night.
All of the facilities worked wonderfully: a fully equipped kitchen, good plumbing, microwave, fridge stove gas stove, etc.
As well as wonderful views, there are shops and restaurants close by and el Centro is a short walk away.
Carmen, the property manager was there to meet us when we arrived by cab from the airpport and gave us all the information we needed. She was very pleasant and helpful."

"This is our second stay at this amazing condo. From the moment we walked through the door, we fell in love with the place and the setting. There are incredible views of the bay from the living room as well as the master bedroom. Nothing like waking up in the morning and seeing a gorgeous beach in front of you! We were very impressed with the impecable cleanliness of the condo and the tasteful decor. It is very spacious and the outdoor balcony (overlooking the bay) is one of the best features. It is the perfect place to lounge, eat, play games, read, etc... Both times we were travelling with children and they loved the pool, the hammocks and the beach. The condo is stocked with all the amenities you will need and the washing machine is a great asset, especially when you have young children. The pictures are exactly what it looks like. The den with the futon has now been turned into a lovely third bedroom. The owner Jamie is a pleasure to deal with, was incredibly helpful with suggestions of places to visit and eat, and really took the time to meet our needs and make us feel at home.
Dulce is amazing. She kept the condo super clean, her cooking is delicious- well worth retaining her services.
We definitely recommend this place to anyone and look forward to our next visit."

"We were two couples sharing a very unique and special artistic condo. The condo is strategically placed to maximize the spectacular views of Zihuatanejo Bay. The arrival on XMAS eve was a great way to celebrate the holidays ushering in the new year as well. We found Zihua to be fully accessible with the immediate taxi service whenever we desired. The condo had a very tastefully done finish and rivaled any we have rented over the years. There was the right amount of privacy for two adult couples, but it would no doubt work well for a family too. It is a terrific home base to enjoy the many attributes that paradise offers."

"This was such an amazingly cool place to spend 5 days (too short; longer next time). Beautifully appointed and with all the modern conveniences. The open-air palapa was amazing, offering stunning views onto the bay, which never failed to bring a little gasp each time you saw it, even if it was the 10th time. Lois was such an accommodating host, who happily answered all my questions, and kept in touch throughout the whole process.
Really nice plus was Naty, the friendly woman who came each day to make beds, clean the place up, and even met us with freshly-made salsa and guacamole. They’ll even have beer waiting for you in the fridge if you request in advance, or just for their cost.
Beach was just a quick hike down, but understand that it’s a pretty steep climb back to the unit from the beach. If you have any mobility issues or get winded really easily, it might not be ideal. My lady and I are in decent shape, and it definitely got our heart rates up, but in our case, the exercise just helped justify our beer or tequila shot upon arrival…;)
Location is at the south end of Playa Ropa, putting you at the far end of the bay, but we never felt out of it. Taxis and colectivos into town are easy to grab by the beach at the end of your hike down, and both are cheap. We usually just took colectivos into town (15 pesos for two people) and taxis back (~35-40 pesos).
Be sure to pick up some freshly-made ceviche from the oyster guy who sets up on the beach right at the bottom of your climb down from the villa. I got a “small” order of the incredibly fresh and delicious stuff, which filled a standard-size paper plate (we ate off it for 3 days), and cost 50 pesos (less than $4).
Villa Zanzibar is really a very special place. Not your typical condo, but so much richer an experience. Can’t wait to get back there next year for a longer stay!"
