  • The Only Way to Zihua!

"Here's a suggestion if you are traveling to Zihuatanejo, especially during the peak season- take advantage of this unit. From Su Escapada you are a short walk to Playa La Ropa, which is right where you want to be in Zihua. The thing is, so does everyone else (with good reason). But you may take solace knowing that you do not need to be on the beach or at some nice restaurant when the sun goes down. There is not a better view of the sunset in Zihua than from either one of your two balconies. (This includes Restaurant Tentaciones! Not worth the admission for Su Escapada residents) My wife and I wanted to experience Zihuatanejo by lounging on the beach and by being out and about. Playa La Ropa is hot and happening; the view of the ENTIRE bay from the balcony is breathtaking and the breeze up there provides perpetual relief. We found the balance between these two worlds and their proximity to one another to be the perfect match. You are a short enough walk to town. The trek up from La Ropa is a short distance but a strenuous incline. Reaching the bottom of the stairs turned out to be a relief in our journey home. Not nearly as much as the pool though. The owner, Jim, lives nearby and was willing to help if we needed anything, but we did not see him outside of our planned rendezvous on our first and last days. He was most helpful orienting us when we arrived. His activity/restaurant recommendations turned out to be some of the highlights of our stay. All 4 units were occupied while we were there. Two were traveling couples and one resident couple. I am always concerned about feeling intrusive around VRBO owners or nearby residents. We bumped into everyone at some point or other and felt totally welcome and comfortable. The pool has some light construction wrapping up in front of it right now so its view of the bay has been obstructed from water level. You will find this to be an insignificant matter when you see the lounge chairs on your top balcony. My wife and I killed an entire day back and forth between the pool and laying out on our balcony. This being our first visit to Mexico, just a couple other things I wondered about prior to going. 1) Purified drinking water was provided on a dispenser stand and refilled when needed via front door delivery of (a 5 gallon?) water container. 2) Following Jim's testimonial, we did not bother taking precautions with the water out of the sink. We washed our veggies and brushed our teeth with it. No problems at all."

  • It doesn't get any better than this!

"This was our sixth trip to Mexico, first trip to Zihuatanejo. We are two couples in our 50's. It was a great break from the Idaho and Utah winters. Casa de Serenidad was awesome! You always hope the owners have done a fair job of representing their property and Connie has done just that. The property was as beautiful and well appointed as the description and pictures would suggest. Everything was comfortable, clean and in good repair. The master bedroom and the living room look out over the bay and the well-tended grounds around La Casa Que Ve al Mar. Unbeatable! We didn't do a lot of cooking. Once we arrived at the condo and got settled, we took a taxi to Commercial Mexicana and stocked up on snacks and breakfast stuff (lots of pastries!). We typically ate breakfast at the condo, then eat lunch and dinner wherever we happen to be at lunchtime or dinner time. The pools are warm and comfortable and often in the evenings we lounged in the pools and watched the sun set over the bay and the night settle in. The walk down to the beach (Playa la Ropa) takes five or ten minutes at the most. You can take a taxi back up the hill, but we usually walked. Not a big deal. There is much to see and do in the area. Some of the things we particularly enjoyed were: hiring a boat to take us to Manzanillo bay to snorkel, renting kayaks and paddling over to Playa Las Gatas for the afternoon, and my favorite: a day up the coast at Tronconnes taking a surf lesson. One thing not to be missed is to go into Zihuatanejo on Sunday evening and hang out at the basketball court which serves as the unofficial town gathering spot. As the evening settles in, people begin to gather. Mostly local people, but a few tourists as well. This is a great chance to eat authentic food. There will be multiple vendors who have carts set up selling all kinds of fun stuff: tacos, quesadillas, horchata, and even deep fried banana slices drizzled with coconut syrup. We tried a lot of great things. Transportation is easy. Taxis pass frequently on the road in front of the condo and will gladly stop if you look like you want a ride. Taxi drivers were friendly and tolerant of our sketchy Spanish. There are also buses available. We took a bus back from Isla Ixtapa after a day of snorkeling and enjoyed the ride back to Zihuatanejo Cento. We'll be back!"

  • Great holiday

"We loved our stay at Preciosa. The condo is tastefully colorful, comfortable, and beautifully decorated with classic Mexican artifacts featuring Freida Kahlo and other indigenous artists. We made full use of the well-appointed kitchen complete with a gas stove, the bar and the cozy lounges and lunch area on the terrace. Watching the boats and parasail activity on the bay, topped by blazing sunset, was an endless pastime from our private, very spacious, mid-day shaded condo terrace.. The location was perfect for us; a short walk to the surf at either Playa La Ropa or Playa La Madera. The property overall was immaculate as well. The blue-tiled infinity pool overlooking the bay was a welcome relief from a hike in the heat to the central Mercado downtown. We thoroughly recommend this condo to those interested in a relaxing and romantic holiday in Zihuatanejo."
