  • Beautiful & Luxurious

"A group of friends stayed at this property for a wedding. We rent a lot of vacation properties together and this was by far the most beautiful & luxurious places we have ever had the pleasure of staying in. I booked it with Margot, who is very communicative and thorough. It was very easy to contact her and set everything up. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the amazing security team who helped us with our luggage, and the pleasant Evelyn who had margaritas waiting for us. This is the penthouse, the top floor, and there are a lot of stairs. We happily walked these stairs everyday to help burn off calories from all the delicious food and drink from nearby restaurants. Our group never felt crowded as we all had our own bedrooms and bathrooms. The private pool was our favorite part of the house. It overlooks the ocean, the view is so surreal. The only gripe we had was the wifi, which was very unreliable. However, it was not a huge deal as we spent most of our time exploring Zihuatanejo or hanging out by the pool. I would love to stay here again for a future visit."

  • Thank you Liz and Ron, we hope to return!

"Your two bedroom second floor rental is big enough to bring my parents. The spacious bedrooms and living area made it easy to relax with strong wifi in the quiet location. The well groomed grounds provide privacy and beauty while reading poolside. Swimming, oh yes, the pool is large clean and refreshing. We walked level ground about one block to La Ropa beach. La Ropa is so close you can go back and forth. Your condo provided all we needed for two weeks in a home away from home. The staff, the security and transportation was totally accessible. We like to walk and walked to town several times. We had so much fun!"

  • Wonderful stay, incredible place...

"This was such an amazingly cool place to spend 5 days (too short; longer next time). Beautifully appointed and with all the modern conveniences. The open-air palapa was amazing, offering stunning views onto the bay, which never failed to bring a little gasp each time you saw it, even if it was the 10th time. Lois was such an accommodating host, who happily answered all my questions, and kept in touch throughout the whole process. Really nice plus was Naty, the friendly woman who came each day to make beds, clean the place up, and even met us with freshly-made salsa and guacamole. They’ll even have beer waiting for you in the fridge if you request in advance, or just for their cost. Beach was just a quick hike down, but understand that it’s a pretty steep climb back to the unit from the beach. If you have any mobility issues or get winded really easily, it might not be ideal. My lady and I are in decent shape, and it definitely got our heart rates up, but in our case, the exercise just helped justify our beer or tequila shot upon arrival…;) Location is at the south end of Playa Ropa, putting you at the far end of the bay, but we never felt out of it. Taxis and colectivos into town are easy to grab by the beach at the end of your hike down, and both are cheap. We usually just took colectivos into town (15 pesos for two people) and taxis back (~35-40 pesos). Be sure to pick up some freshly-made ceviche from the oyster guy who sets up on the beach right at the bottom of your climb down from the villa. I got a “small” order of the incredibly fresh and delicious stuff, which filled a standard-size paper plate (we ate off it for 3 days), and cost 50 pesos (less than $4). Villa Zanzibar is really a very special place. Not your typical condo, but so much richer an experience. Can’t wait to get back there next year for a longer stay!"

  • Amazing Views and Comforting Breeze

"The pictures and reviews of the unit are accurate. So nice. Being an end unit, I think it probably has better natural ventilation since you can leave the back windows open without losing privacy to the outdoor hallway like the others do. We never needed the AC. We spent most of our daytime on the beach and would get a cab to go back up the hill. No big expense. It is walkable if you prefer. It's also a very interesting walk into town, about 45 minutes I think. After you crest the hill, you can get down to the beach and walk in that way. Go before 9 to see the fishermen selling their catch from the night before. You can watch while you eat breakfast. We really enjoyed Zihuatanejo, and Puesta del Sol really makes you feel like you have a home."
