  • Great stay at Arena Dorada

"We just returned from a one month stay at the penthouse. The condo is in an excellent location, a short walk to the beach and the collectivos stop outside the door and for six and a half pesos will take you into town. the condo was quiet, great view from the penthouse, very private, but it was a bit of a climb up the stairs, so the penthouse is not suitable for someone not in reasonable shape. The condo itself was very clean and well appointed, the staff were very friendly and available to assist when needed. Victor the owner went over and above to provide service for us. My husband had a fall when hiking and Victor and his son Chris drove us around to 3 different appointments, they were very gracious and then would not accept any compensation even though it took about 4 hours. Definitely recommend this rental"

  • Fantastic time in Zihu!!!

"This was our first trip to this part of Mexico, and we will definatley return. We love Zihu and we had a great time. From the photos and reviews we knew the condo would be nice but it was far more than expected ... it was absolutely fabulous. Everything was so clean and well taken care of, and every possible amenity we needed was supplied. We will really miss the stunning views from the terrace and the pool. Our stay here was so very relaxing and refreshing, and we can't wait until we return! The staff at the condo were extremely friendly, and helpful, and we felt very much at home. Andreas, our cab driver, was amazing. He helped us so much in getting around the town and finding such good places to eat and enjoy. Filiberto, the property manager, was excellant to deal with as well. He was very friendly, professional, and helpful, and it made our trip even that much more enjoyable. We would highly recommend this property to anyone who wants to come and enjoy this part of Mexico."

  • Our New Favorite Place in Mexico

"We have a new favorite place in Mexico. My wife and I have been traveling in Mexican beach towns for over 20 years. From Akumal, Playa del Carmen, Sayulita, Barra de Navidad, Cabo & a few more. Prior to this trip I would have told you that Sayulita was the place. We've been there about ten times starting in 1994. But Zihua tops them. You have to like Mexico. That includes walking through some dusty streets with some rumbling trucks & the occasional stray mutt. But it also means the charm of Mexico. The smells of street side restaurants & the feel of warm breezes rustling the palm trees & great beaches. Zihua is a big enough town that spreads out behind Playa Principale. More than adequate shopping without the high prices of a Playa del Carmen and a great variety of restaurant choices. Yet, it's small enough that you can explore it all easily. Be sure to take a morning & visit the local mercado in the town. Indescribably fun! Playa la Madera, where this condo is located, is more of a locals beach. Not too many tourists and very welcoming. The three or four "restaurants" on the beach are friendly & cheap - with the exception of Bistro del Mar, a bit more high end but worth a visit. The condos location is perfect. A short walk to town or short hike over to Playa la Ropa. I think that people who stay at la Ropa tend to stay there because it is a longer walk/hike to town. Or a short taxi ride, but still... The condo itself is well acquainted. Although it's a two bedroom unit it would be best for a couple (upstairs suite) and kids (downstairs bedroom) as there is not a lot of private space once you're there. To go with another couple we would look into renting this place along with the place next-door as the two can be connected via a door that is locked otherwise. The condo is beautifully wide open with panoramic views of the bay of Zihuatanejo. The kitchen is small but adequate to prep small meals. Favorites: "Patio Mexica" cooking school; Rufo's for dinner (same spot, different managements); sunset cocktails at any of the places up on the hill leading to la Ropa; fish tacos at Playa las Gatas; the mercado in la centro; watching the schools of fish jump on Playa la Madera & watching the sea birds dive into the schools for dinner. Rick & Suzette were really accommodating and helpful with our planning. They have great recommendations for eating & shopping and exploring. Muchas gracias!"

  • Does it get any better than this?

"This condo had everything we needed/wanted and the amenities are amazing. The grounds and pool are nicely appointed and impeccably clean. Friendly staff, tight security (not that we were worried about our safety in Zihua) and the owner was great to work with and responsive to every email in a timely fashion. You will not be disappointed during your stay at CVM."
