  • 'A Piece of Heaven'!

"My husband and I stayed at Casa Porvenir for two weeks back in March. One would think it's odd to write a review six months after the fact, however, the truth is, Casa Porvenir is unforgettable! So much so, that my husband and I have booked 2 additional stays for November and another for March of 2015. This place is a piece of heaven. Its location is perfect for long walks on the beach and a quick jaunt to Manzanillo Bay in for 'Big Boy' margaritas (the best I have ever had!). The house is very private despite the open air concept throughout and oozes authentic Mexican charm. There isn't an amenity you require as the home is fully stocked with every cooking utensil and appliance you could need. If you enjoy cooking, I'd be sure to take advantage of the fish and vegetable truck that passes every day. The selection of fish and sea food is caught the night before and deliciously fresh and the produce is perfect for giving Mexican cuisine a try. Be sure to ask the housekeeper to cook you a meal or two, she's a wonderful cook. The staff respects your privacy while providing for your every need and they keep the house and property immaculate. Wayne and Jolene, the owners, are wonderfully accommodating and go out of their way to make your stay relaxing and special. My only warning is 'be careful, you could fall in love with Casa Porvenir and Troncones', we certainly have."

  • BVGM getaway

"Rain in Cancun made me look for a last minute change. Luis was very accommodating and returned calls promptly. As far as the condo goes... Spectacular views with nice furnishings and T.V.s The pool was UNBELIEVABLE and drinks/snacks by the pool were very reasonably priced... Overall it was a great place and an excellent value..."

  • ANOTHER GREAT VACATION!

"ANOTHER WEEK IN PARADISE! This was our 6th stay at Casa Que Ve Al Mar, and the best yet. We've stayed at 3 other units and we found Alanamar hands down was a superior experience. The unit is well furnished and appointed and the layout flowed well and was very comfortable. The kitchen was fabulous all the appliances and gadgets you could possibly need to cook and prepare a gourmet meal. The view from the expansive veranda of the complex grounds and La Ropa beach is awesome. It's a short walk to the beach and many great restaurants. For us, a great meal on the beach, a cold beer, and toes in the sand is absolutely the best. Thanks for another great vacation!"

  • Zihua Magic

"This Penthouse exceeded expectations. It was beautiful, artsy, clean and serene. We were two couples and each bedroom was charming and comfortable. The view to the bay and beyond was mesmerizing and ever-changing. Loved the dipping pool and the other pools on the premises as well. The owner provided a very thorough and informative guide to the area's activities, restaurants and tips. There was a helpful Concierge and cleaning service provided. Very well equipped in every way. The pictures don't do it justice. Location was a short walk from the 2 best area beaches and you could walk into Zihua as well. We took a recommended snorkeling trip to Manzanillo Bay. It was as good as Hawaii and Belize in many ways for variety of fish and coral."

Guerrero Travel Tips

A Little Information for Your Trip to Guerrero

Situated along Mexico’s southern region on the Pacific coast, you will find Guerrero. It is known for its warm climate, top-notch tourist resorts, and beautiful scenery. Furthermore, if you have heard of Acapulco, Guerrero is not too far off as the port of Acapulco is highly accessible. Guerrero, Mexico travel is a truly magical experience

Getting to Guerrero

Arriving at your Guerrero, Mexico resorts is not going to be difficult. Though it is a little traveled destination, it is not forgotten. The Juan N. Alvarez International Airport is a well connected airport with plenty of incoming and outbound flights. Prices will depend on the time of year you plan to travel. If you are already in Mexico, many buses go in and out of the region from the major cities. For the most part, buses are safe, fast, and affordable. Many of these buses compare to tour buses with movies, roomy seats, and snacks. If you have a rental car, the modern four-lane highway, Autopista del Sol, is the best route. It is a little pricey but it is safe. Just be sure you have a car with good tires, as one section of the road is a touch rough.

Getting Around Safely

It is not suggested that you use a car to travel around Guerrero, especially if you plan to spend most of your time in Acapulco. The streets are not organized in an easy-to-navigate grid and there is always a lot of traffic. Your best bet is to take a taxi but be careful because they are unmetered. Always agree on a fare before getting inside. In addition to taxis, there are buses that make many stops in and around town. There is no need to be at a bus stop to catch a ride, just wave at the driver and he will stop! The buses have been privatized and each is owned by the driver. Buses compete for passengers which makes for an exciting ride.

What not to Miss Around Guerrero

Staying at Guerrero, Mexico vacation rentals almost demands that you witness the cliff divers at La Quebrada. These fearless adventurers take a 150-foot plunge off the cliff into the deep blue sea. This is not for the faint of heart so if you fear heights, you might want to look away! You will also want to explore the surrounding towns of Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo which offer beautiful beaches as well as a modern port. Taxco, another nearby town, is famous for its arts and crafts, particularly silver jewelry. On your way, check out the splendid architecture of the Santa Prisca church and other old buildings. While in the Taxco area, do not miss Cacahuamilpa Caverns, some of the most gorgeous in the world. If you like cave-diving, this is the spot for you!

Other Things to Do

While in Guerrero, do your best to make it to Zocalo, Acapulco’s town square. It lies on the western side of La Costera and is cool, shady, and peaceful. While in Zocalo, you will definitely get a taste for local culture along the tree-lined paths. It is filled with bistros, restaurants, and street vendors selling local fare. There is also plenty of street entertainment. For a change of pace from the partying and beaches, you will also want to check out Pie de la Cuesta which is to the northwest. It is bordered by the Pacific Ocean and the freshwater Laguna de Cuyoca. Also, your trip to Guerrero will be incomplete without a day at Isla de la Roqueta. It has a beautiful beach with shallow areas which is perfect for families with small children. Take a glass-bottomed harbor boat tour around the area to see the region’s underwater glory.

Choosing Accommodations in Guerrero

Instead of a hotel or resort, you may want to book your own Guerrero, Mexico vacation rentals to enjoy the freedom that making your own schedule allows. You will enjoy the beauty of the surrounding area without the hassle of staying in a hotel. The fully equipped kitchen of the rental will even allow you to shop the local markets and make delicious and healthy meals at your home away from home. Also, depending on the activities you may want to experience, you may choose your rental closer to those locations rather than on resort row.
