  • Most relaxing vacation ever!

"The villas on Playa Blanca provide the most relaxing setting for a vacation that I have ever experienced. The infinity pool is absolutely the finest I have ever swum in and provides a beautiful view of the ocean and beach, which is just steps away. We saw whales almost every day. The fruit-and-vegetable vendor came by every other day with a marvelous array of everything -- plus fresh tortillas and bread were available daily. Our villa was well-appointed and scrupulously clean. Sylvie, the maid, was most helpful and friendly. We enjoyed the beach towels, pool toys, and hammock. We also booked a half-day snorkeling/fishing/whale watching trip with Omar that was wonderful."

  • A Perfect Vacation

"We loved this condo, with its great Mexican decor, beautiful tile work, high quality furnishings, and its VIEW.....we thought we were in paradise! And we really were. The private pool made it even better (if that's possible) and we spent most of our time in it during the days and evenings. It was a perfect vacation! Our hosts were extremely responsive and accommodating to our needs and for that we are very appreciative. We hired the housekeeper, Veronica, to come cook us dinner one night. While we relaxed in the pool, Veronica cooked us an amazing Mexican feast! We had enough food left over to last us for several days and the cost was VERY affordable, less than a nice dinner out. We loved the location of the condo as well. This was our 2nd time in Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo. La Ropa beach, on the edges of Zihua, offers a quieter experience than that of either town. Zihua is close enough to walk to but using the bus to go back and forth was cheap and easy, and taxis are everywhere (and reasonable). We felt it was the best of everything, the shopping and dining in town as well as the peaceful jungles behind the condo and the incredible bay view in front of us that we soaked up every day. Again, it was paradise! We really liked Bandito's in town. We were able to watch the Seahawks win yet another game! And the food was better than what we could get on the beaches of La Ropa (although some of these allowed seating right in the sand and that made it fun!) Overall, this was one of the best vacations ever and we will most definitely stay in this condo for the next one in Mexico!"

  • Great time, wonderful condo

"Andrew,We had a great time in your condo. Your response to any concern we had was quick and thorough. The staff at BVG is wonderful and treated us with kindness and respect. The restaurant is affordable and provides excellent service and high quality food. And what can be said about the pool and beach besides fantastic. We hope to come back next year. Thanks again for a great experience. We forgot how nice Ixtapa really is. We miss it already."

  • Perfectly situated & very comfortable

"My boyfriend and I planned our first trip to Zihuat and decided a condo would be the way to go. We like the option to shop in the local markets, cook fresh seafood, etc. so a condo kitchen gives us that option. This location was perfect, as it's situated across the road from La Ropa, where there are other hotels, restaurants, and obviously the beach. The condo itself was lovely - well decorated, clean, and comfortable. Condo building had a nice pool as well. Great first trip to zihuat, excellent location, would definitely go back and recommend this condo to any friends/family."

Guerrero Travel Tips

A Little Information for Your Trip to Guerrero

Situated along Mexico’s southern region on the Pacific coast, you will find Guerrero. It is known for its warm climate, top-notch tourist resorts, and beautiful scenery. Furthermore, if you have heard of Acapulco, Guerrero is not too far off as the port of Acapulco is highly accessible. Guerrero, Mexico travel is a truly magical experience

Getting to Guerrero

Arriving at your Guerrero, Mexico resorts is not going to be difficult. Though it is a little traveled destination, it is not forgotten. The Juan N. Alvarez International Airport is a well connected airport with plenty of incoming and outbound flights. Prices will depend on the time of year you plan to travel. If you are already in Mexico, many buses go in and out of the region from the major cities. For the most part, buses are safe, fast, and affordable. Many of these buses compare to tour buses with movies, roomy seats, and snacks. If you have a rental car, the modern four-lane highway, Autopista del Sol, is the best route. It is a little pricey but it is safe. Just be sure you have a car with good tires, as one section of the road is a touch rough.

Getting Around Safely

It is not suggested that you use a car to travel around Guerrero, especially if you plan to spend most of your time in Acapulco. The streets are not organized in an easy-to-navigate grid and there is always a lot of traffic. Your best bet is to take a taxi but be careful because they are unmetered. Always agree on a fare before getting inside. In addition to taxis, there are buses that make many stops in and around town. There is no need to be at a bus stop to catch a ride, just wave at the driver and he will stop! The buses have been privatized and each is owned by the driver. Buses compete for passengers which makes for an exciting ride.

What not to Miss Around Guerrero

Staying at Guerrero, Mexico vacation rentals almost demands that you witness the cliff divers at La Quebrada. These fearless adventurers take a 150-foot plunge off the cliff into the deep blue sea. This is not for the faint of heart so if you fear heights, you might want to look away! You will also want to explore the surrounding towns of Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo which offer beautiful beaches as well as a modern port. Taxco, another nearby town, is famous for its arts and crafts, particularly silver jewelry. On your way, check out the splendid architecture of the Santa Prisca church and other old buildings. While in the Taxco area, do not miss Cacahuamilpa Caverns, some of the most gorgeous in the world. If you like cave-diving, this is the spot for you!

Other Things to Do

While in Guerrero, do your best to make it to Zocalo, Acapulco’s town square. It lies on the western side of La Costera and is cool, shady, and peaceful. While in Zocalo, you will definitely get a taste for local culture along the tree-lined paths. It is filled with bistros, restaurants, and street vendors selling local fare. There is also plenty of street entertainment. For a change of pace from the partying and beaches, you will also want to check out Pie de la Cuesta which is to the northwest. It is bordered by the Pacific Ocean and the freshwater Laguna de Cuyoca. Also, your trip to Guerrero will be incomplete without a day at Isla de la Roqueta. It has a beautiful beach with shallow areas which is perfect for families with small children. Take a glass-bottomed harbor boat tour around the area to see the region’s underwater glory.

Choosing Accommodations in Guerrero

Instead of a hotel or resort, you may want to book your own Guerrero, Mexico vacation rentals to enjoy the freedom that making your own schedule allows. You will enjoy the beauty of the surrounding area without the hassle of staying in a hotel. The fully equipped kitchen of the rental will even allow you to shop the local markets and make delicious and healthy meals at your home away from home. Also, depending on the activities you may want to experience, you may choose your rental closer to those locations rather than on resort row.
