"My big family (10 adults!) went down to Mexico and stayed with Barry & Barb in their villa for a week of fun in the sun... it was fantastic! B & B went out of their way to ensure we all were comfortable and happy, including a huge delicious lasagna (including veggie version) for our first dinner upon arrival. They gave us lots of good tips about where to eat out, what to see, and do; arranged for massages and pedicures, let us use their bikes, took us on a boat trip thru the canal and around the lagoon, and lots more. But they left us to enjoy their villa and pool on our own most of the time. We hung out pool side or in their huge palapa most of the time into the wee hours of the morning. And enjoyed the beautiful beaches just 3 blocks away every day. Barra is a great town, especially if you are tired of the resort scene as we are. Quiet, simple, authentic, friendly. We had an amazing week!"

"We needed a place for a girls getaway weekend and Casa Coco worked out perfectly! We didn't leave the grounds except to take a walk on the beach. The kitchen was well stocked for our meals, the pool was fabulous and the privacy was amazing. Fernando and Alvaro were quick to respond when we had a question and Alvaro even brought us fresh coconuts one day. We will definitely be returning next year!"

"Four us went back to Barra for a fishing trip and found this house on VRBO. It is perfect!! Everything works properly, it is stocked with all the basics ( even a cooler for by the pool) and is perfectly maintained. We spent a lot of time by the pool and enjoyed the walks to town for meals and enjoying the community. Fishing was sparse, but nothing is really running this time of year. The owner helped us with transportation from the airport and ideas on who to fish with. It was great and we would all stay there again. His Manager was very helpful in pointing our places to shop and where to find taxis, etc. Great trip and great people- thank you"

"We spent a week in this lovely Mexican home. The house, the yard, the pool are very well maintained and spotlessly clean. If you are looking for a place with Mexican charm, right in the heart of a local neighbourhood this is the place for you. We enjoyed strolling and shopping in the neighbourhood shops with the locals. Everybody we met were friendly and helpful. Despite our not speaking spanish, we were able to make ourselves understood with the housekeepers, landscapers, pool people and shopkeepers. Barra town centre and the lagoon area were a 10 minute stroll away with many places to enjoy a meal or a drink. Work on the beach area interferes a bit with the ambience of the beachside restaurants but the results will make up for that inconvenience. Melaque is a short drive or bus ride away with plenty of dining and shopping options. We found the Hawaii grocery store stocking Costco brands of cheese and other food items not easily found in the neighbourhood grocery stores. This area of Mexico is great for those who are not looking for tours and swimming with the dolphins, preferring great weather and slower pace. Not a time-share salesman in sight!!"
