"The casita is well located and is far more beautiful than the pictures show. The design, the colors, and all the many custom details make this place outstanding. From the beautiful pool setting with many different plants and landscaping to the wonderful views from the mirador. The wifi and the vonage phone made communications and keeping up online a snap. All this made it hard to go out and walk around the town.
Best of all was the owner, Bob, and his very loving puppy named Tula. From the very beginning, Bob took care of us. He did all the little things and went well beyond what you normally would expect. This was our first time in Ajijic, but Bob made it so easy to get to places, eat at the right restaurants, visit the best sites...
Bob gave us our privacy, but it was always wonderful to visit with Bob by the pool or up on the mirador. And, he was always there whenever we needed any help or information. He always took great care of us.
We stayed at Bob's casita for over a month and had a great time. We definitely will be back and stay much longer next time."

"There is a tour in Ajijic called "Behind the Walls" which allows visitors to see the magnificent homes that are hidden behind the high walls typical of the area. This home is not on the tour or else it may be booked year round with a waiting list! It is a wonderful place highlighted by the open living room facing the lush garden, a large kitchen and four bedrooms each with its own full bathroom and shower. Centrally located only two blocks from the Lake Chapala Society grounds and a five minute walk from the Malecon, it is ideally suited for those who enjoy walking to all parts of the village and beyond.
The large collection of artwork complements the comfortable furniture and several terraces on the upper levels are ideal for activities ranging from breakfast to star gazing. All in all, this is a great place to use as a home base while visiting the Lake Chapala area and we have already booked for both January and February in 2016!"

"I recently spent two weeks at the Mexican Sunrise House in Ajijic. I was considering retirement in Lake Chapala and wanted to learn more about the area. First, Leo and Gaby were amazing hosts. The house was beautifully furnished, spotless and there was food and wine waiting. Wow! It set a perfect mood for relaxation. The house is centrally located and within walking distance of anything you might need from food to medical care. No car is necessary. But the real magic of Sunrise House happens once you shut the gate behind you. It is a romantic oasis!!! Like a piece of paradise. If you have want to fall in love with your partner all over again, spend some time here!!!"

"This is a lovely property....so nice, in fact, that we are returning for a month in February, 2016. Our 45 days this year passed quickly, largely because of the wonderful garden and birds that entranced us. If you are a birder, the fountain visitors will captivate you. We used the pool daily, as well as having private massages on the decks and going to the thermal baths in San Juan Cosala.
The villa is great for 2 couples, there is so much privacy. Be aware that the master suite upstairs does not have a door, so anyone in the computer room will know everything you are doing. The stairway to the Master is also rather open and steep, so if you have mobility issues it may be a problem. The 3rd bedroom is a nice size and has a private bath attached.
The house is at least a 30 minute walk from the plaza (which we did not mind) with a steep hill on the return side. However, cabs are easy to get and charge about $3 back to the house. We did not miss a car at all. There is a nice, basic grocery/liquor store, fish market and meat market within a 10 minute walk. Also many nice restaurants nearby. But we chose to spend every morning by the fountain bird watching, and each evening watching the sun go down over the lake. A perfect place for sunshine and relaxation."
