  • a great place with a great host

"The casita is well located and is far more beautiful than the pictures show. The design, the colors, and all the many custom details make this place outstanding. From the beautiful pool setting with many different plants and landscaping to the wonderful views from the mirador. The wifi and the vonage phone made communications and keeping up online a snap. All this made it hard to go out and walk around the town. Best of all was the owner, Bob, and his very loving puppy named Tula. From the very beginning, Bob took care of us. He did all the little things and went well beyond what you normally would expect. This was our first time in Ajijic, but Bob made it so easy to get to places, eat at the right restaurants, visit the best sites... Bob gave us our privacy, but it was always wonderful to visit with Bob by the pool or up on the mirador. And, he was always there whenever we needed any help or information. He always took great care of us. We stayed at Bob's casita for over a month and had a great time. We definitely will be back and stay much longer next time."

"When my wife and I arrived at the casita, we expected something nice...what we got was over-the-top wonderful. The casita was beautiful. It was large, well furnished and included everything a person needed to live. Our host, Hal, treated us as if we were family. He showed us the area and even took us to a couple of parties...which we enjoyed thoroughly. The only negative is the long hill leading up to the house. If you don't have a car, and are in good shape, you'll have no problem. Otherwise, be ready to take a taxi back from the village which is about a mile away. The owners two little dogs, Teddy and Dottie, were delightful and not at all bothersome. Though this vacation rental is excellent for anyone of any age...I would say that it is most perfect for a younger couple that want a private, romantic getaway."

  • An Oasis of Peace

"This is a lovely nice, in fact, that we are returning for a month in February, 2016. Our 45 days this year passed quickly, largely because of the wonderful garden and birds that entranced us. If you are a birder, the fountain visitors will captivate you. We used the pool daily, as well as having private massages on the decks and going to the thermal baths in San Juan Cosala. The villa is great for 2 couples, there is so much privacy. Be aware that the master suite upstairs does not have a door, so anyone in the computer room will know everything you are doing. The stairway to the Master is also rather open and steep, so if you have mobility issues it may be a problem. The 3rd bedroom is a nice size and has a private bath attached. The house is at least a 30 minute walk from the plaza (which we did not mind) with a steep hill on the return side. However, cabs are easy to get and charge about $3 back to the house. We did not miss a car at all. There is a nice, basic grocery/liquor store, fish market and meat market within a 10 minute walk. Also many nice restaurants nearby. But we chose to spend every morning by the fountain bird watching, and each evening watching the sun go down over the lake. A perfect place for sunshine and relaxation."

  • Paradise in Ajijic

"Thank you for sharing your beautiful home! We had an incredible stay and are looking forward to a return visit. The property is very well maintained, has all the comforts of home and the staff was very helpful. We loved the fact that we didn't need a car and could walk to all our desired destinations - great location."
