  • #Amazing

"Five of us stayed at Villa Lucia for 9 nights. All of the pre-arrival booking details went smoothly. I was promptly contacted to arrange payment and confirm arrival details including what we wanted the kitchen stocked with upon arrival. A pre-arranged air-conditioned van picked us up from the airport and brought us to the house. We were unsure about whether or not to have the chef service (more about that later). William suggested that we have an arrival dinner cooked by chef and then meet with chef after to decide what we wanted for the week. We did that and enjoyed an amazing dinner on our first night. Fresh salsa, guacamole and margaritas preceded dinner. The house is amazing in all aspects. Its clean, modern, spacious, comfortable and quiet. It has beautiful views of the ocean, banderas bay, PV and the beautiful sunsets. There are 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. Each room has its own ensuite bathroom. Two bedrooms up and two downstairs below the main floor. The upper bedrooms are both king-size beds. The lower two bedrooms each have 2 queen size beds. So the house can easily accommodate 8 adults. Each bedroom also has its own private loggia (veranda). The photos do not do the property justice. Villa Lucia is about a 10 minute walk down to Playa Muertos beach via a stairs. It is about a 15 minute walk to the old town. Its 10 min or less to the Swedes (great restaurant). A cab (taxi) ride back up to the house is 40-60 pesos depending on where you are in the old town or beach. So we did decide to have the Chef, Marco, prepare breakfast for us every day and then choose three evenings where we had him prepare dinner as well. He managed all the groceries and alcohol for us too. He is a very skilled chef and every single meal was amazing. He was also cheerful and kind and a delight to have in the house when he was there. Each day the property was fastidiously maintained by Letty the housekeeper and the pool and groundsman. We all felt truly spoiled by the staff and chef. William was also great at arranging services for us and giving us helpful suggestions. All of the staff were helpful and non-intrusive. All five of us would not hesitate to return to Villa Lucia and highly recommend it. I had ear plugs with me for the flight and used them to block out the 8 am rooster like bird frenzy that occurred each morning. So if you want to sleep past 7:30 or 8 am I would recommend ear plugs."

  • Fantastic vacation spot!

"This was our second time staying here after 4 years. It has only gotten better! This condo is located above Playa Los Muertos and is within a short walking distance (including about 260 stairs) to that great beach and old Puerto Vallarta. The condo is beautifully appointed with traditional Mexican folk art and the conveniences of home with table placements, cooking dishes, dishwasher, flatscreen TV, washer/dryer and sound system. Stunning views afford you the option to hangout on the spacious balcony or by the common area pool. Our extended family did all three each day. We chose to beach-go mid morning till 4pm at the Mahi Beach restaurant. They had great beach lounge chairs and over the top service staff who rearranged your umbrella for shade, watered down the hot sand around your chairs and kept the drinks and food coming at your desired speed. Then we headed for the malecon and centro shops. We'd return up the numerous stairs to the condo for a swim in the pool and then a stunning sunset from condo balcony. What's not to like with such a set up!"

  • Like being a guest in a (very good) friend's house

"My wife, our adult son, and his girlfriend, spent New Years week in PV, staying at this VRBO rental. Ironically, on our last visit, we had looked at a condo to buy in Loma Linda, the larger complex next door, so we were already quite familiar with the neighborhood, including the easy walk down to the beach, and the slightly less easy walk back up (although no worries as taxis are cheap and plentiful). As others have written, the condo is large and comfortable, with a lovely view, and even over New Years week, was astonishingly quiet. What really made it stand out, and we're veterans of many a rented vacation home, was how homey it felt. I cannot remember the number of times we said "I wonder if they have a (fill in the blank)" only to find that yes, they have one, whether it was a crock pot or a lime squeezer or a tortilla warmer or any cooking device imagineable. We got into the habit of having nice dinners out, bringing home the inevitable left-overs, then preparing them with eggs and tortillas for breakfast on the terrace. Also worth noting, as others have, is how pleasant and communicative both the owners and the on-site management were. My only caveat would be to suggest that families with small children look elsewhere. The owners have obviously taken time and care with their furniture and art, which may not fare well in small, inquisitive hands. Thanks for a wonderful stay."
