  • A slice of heaven!!!!

"We spend 10 day's in Casa Blanca, Los Chonchos, and every second of it was great. This was one of the best holidays of our lives. The palapa is beautiful, colorful and comfortable, the ocean and the jungle breathtaking (wales passing by every day, seen from the terras), the climate in januari absolutely fabulous and our privacy guaranteed. No doors, no windows, you are in fresh air 24 hours per day, using only solar power with the constant sound of rolling waves. The trip with the watertaxi is exiting and bringing your own food is fun. When you run out, walk to Chimo, a low-key fishing village at three quarters of an hour in slow pace, were you can enjoy the catch of the day or buy freshly harvested avocado's. If your time is precious, go to Casa Blanca as long as you can, since time lasts at least twice as long there. We are sure that even the most neurotic and stressed person will reach a Zen state in this slice of heaven."

  • Wonderful Time in PV

"Just returned from a 4 day/3 night stay at Roca Loro and had a memorable experience. The home itself is in a quiet neighborhood up on a hill and a very short distance to one of the better beaches in PV in my opinion. The house is very well maintained by Ana and Miguel who are very accomodating and there for any needs/questions. Each room is large with ample space for a few individuals and has all the latest technology for those needing such. We had Ana and Miguel prepare breakfast and dinner for us daily and there were no complaints by any of us. Excellent food and drinks and more than enough to feed 6 of us. The beach was a short walk down a cobblestone road( maybe 10 minutes). Beach was clean, well manicured and full of vendors if looking to buy anything to take home. I'm a beach-goer and easily spent all afternoon down there and took a $3 cab ride back up the hill to the house. all 6 of us loved every moment of the vacation which was due to how great the villa is. Recommended stay!!"

  • Convenient and comfortable

"This was a nice place and a very good value. My wife and I stayed in the end unit #501, after spending the previous 2 weeks in Conchas Chinas, closer to town. It's a snug fit, but comfortably furnished. Both of the beaches were delightful to swim at and sparsely inhabited except on weekends. The pool is nice, and something that I appreciated was that it seems there are always chairs and lounges available and it was invariably quiet. The restaurant and service are excellent as many guests have noted. Don't miss the live music featuring the Gecko Band on Friday nights. We ate out every night, and the petite kitchen worked fine as a bar, a place to brew the morning café and store some fruit and snacks. The 5 gal. water cooler in the room is a nice feature. The sun shines straightaway onto the patio and into the large sliding glass door most of the day. That could be uncomfortable, but we didn't spend time in the room during the day other than to change clothes. The sound of the air conditioner located next door is quite evident, however we didn't find it bothersome either. We slept well at night with the slider open and could still hear the ocean. The laundry facility, or "laundry club," is for practical purposes inaccessible unless you're staying longer than a week. It operates by reservation only and was booked full, well beyond the end of our stay, on the day that we checked in? We got by OK because we over packed anyway. Another reviewer noted that this is a good base for exploring the area south of Vallarta. We will attest to that. In fact it's a good place to explore both directions. We spent most days tripping about to Mismaloya, Boca de Tomatlan and the hiking trail to Las Animas, Yelapa, etc. and then rode the bus the other way to town in the evenings to dine and stroll about. At 8 pesos (55 cents) per person it's a great way to get around. The only taxi we ever needed was to get back to the airport (that was 245 pesos, or $16.89 per exchange rate at the time). By the way, I learned something new about currency conversion this trip. The best cash exchange rate (to get pesos) is at the ATM's in front of either the Banorte or CI Banco. The net ATM rate (including transaction fees) using my debit card averaged about 14.5 pesos to the dollar vs 13.6 using the teller window inside the bank as I have typically done in the past. The ATM is much more convenient as well. Thanks again Matt and Deidre!"

  • Fantastic, Attentive Staff in an Authentic Beachfront Villa

"We are a group of 5 couples that stayed at Villa Celeste over New Year's week. The property is exactly as pictured and was a great place to stay. It is literally steps from Conchas Chinas beach, but most of the beachfront is rocks -- a very short 10 minute walk north on the beach puts you in Playa de los Muertos where you can pick a chair and have drinks and meals on the beach all day. The staff at Villa Celeste was incredible. Pancho, the house manager, will coordinate any reservations or activities you would like. Javier, the chef, can prepare virtually any meal you ask for and Francisca kept the rooms in great shape for us. Daniel from Vallarta Shores made the reservation process very easy. He was easy to reach and to communicate with and eagerly answered any of our questions and concerns."
