"We decided we didn't want to stay on the beach but to explore the town and that's what we did. The condo has a gorgeous view but as others have said, the walk down the hill is on the steep side and the road uneven, so be forewarned. However, it didn't prevent us from walking into town daily (we caught taxis back which are plentiful & inexpensive). We walked to Costco, the Mercardo (fresh caught fish/shrimp and beef), explored the cemetery, took a water taxi to Yelapa, walked the Malecon and discovered wonderful eateries/shops/bakeries and met lots of nice people. There are several grocery stores (Ley) nearby plus smaller corner markets to choose from.
The condo is beautiful, the bed very comfy, the patio awesome, and the kitchen had everything we could want/need except hot water. The faucet has cold, but no hot. However, there is a dishwasher but I used hot water from the bathroom to wash our dishes. The ice maker didn't work (not a big deal, we bought ice). What we were disappointed with is that the satellite/internet didn't work and we were unable to watch television, especially since it is mentioned as an amenity. We called & emailed the owner immediately about the satellite not working, and several additional times, but no response from her for 2-3 days later only to say she would check on it. That was it. No further communication or explanation from her. That was disappointing. Neighbor told us the Canadian company that provided the service had stopped service to Mexico some time ago. Luckily we brought our laptop and was able to watch videos on it. Plus, the neighbors also shared movies they had and offered the use of a DVD player. It was still an excellent trip and wonderful accomodations!
Note the pool is small and unheated, but not an issue for us. I don't recommend the unit/complex for those with young children or those with physical disabilities. From ground level, the penthouse is only a few flights up, with the pool located several flights down.
Everyone we encountered were friendly and helpful...from taxi drivers to people on the street to the workers in the restaurants. We look forward to our next trip and exploring more of the area. BTW, one of our favorite restaurants was Oceano Azul which is across from McDonalds in the Malecon."
