  • True to it's description, great location!

"My wife and I came to Patzcuaro for the dia de los Muertos celebration in early Nov. 2014. Pedro's property was in a great location. Up a hill and down a hill and you were in the historic centro. Restaurants abound, street food available, and a community of gentle people, with amazing arts and crafts for sale. Let's not forget the amazing architecture of a 500 year old village. The property is clean, private, and well taken care of. Pedro has a property manager Liseth who was helpful with getting us nested in. Pedro himself was incredibly helpful via phone and making sure his staff assisted us with any needs or concerns. This alone is why I gave his property 5 stars. He was there for us. The area of Patzcuaro has so much to see. Artisan villages around the area, combined with a lot of natural beauty in the mountain countryside. This area is a safe haven, never once did we feel the opposite. I encourage you to consider renting either property. Casa Grande, or Chica. Each have their own benefits; we did spend time in both units. I found Casa Chica quieter from road noise, being further off the street in the property. But, Casa Grande is more spacious, beautiful kitchen, great original art. Beds in either Casa were comfortable. This is the second time I have used HomeAway as a resource for vacation rentals and I was not disappointed. I will continue to use this avenue over hotels as you get the feeling of being at home instead of living out of a suitcase in a hotel. Thanks again to Pedro and his staff who helped us have a great vacation in this wonderful area of Mexico. Mark Hofmann"

  • Very Peaceful

"This home is in a very peaceful location, and the neighborhood is lovely! The home is the perfect description of relaxation. My only issue was (and my own fault) I didn't realize that there was no television. Overall, it was a great place to stay! The owners were very nice and easy to work with, thanks Gab and Denise!bclz"

  • Great view, great location, great hosts!

"We wanted to spend time in Michoacan for Semana Santa and decided to try staying near beautiful Lake Zirahuen. The casa was perfect for us and we really enjoyed the indoor and outdoor spaces, as did our little dog. Ale and Enrique are caring and helpful hosts. We loved the well-stocked kitchen with lots of sunlight to greet us in the morning as we enjoyed our breakfast while gazing at the placid waters of the lake. The weather was perfect and our excursions to nearby towns were fun to photograph. We bought beautiful handcrafted pottery, wood and stone carvings, copper and Catrinas to add to our casa here in Mexico. A favorite destination nearby was Tzintzuntzan -- we loved this Pueblo Magico. Really enjoyed our time in the area and will make El Alto Lucero a regular getaway vacation home."
