  • Go. Now.

"Nine miles off highway 200, and bam! the pavement ends. Your amiable taxi driver is peering up driveways and hailing passersby, and growling up a cobbled lane towards La Posada Brisa Fresca. You may never want to leave. This is the daily passage: patio to sand, to warmest salty water, to Chico's or Las Brisas for a weeping cerveza, then back into the water, to bob, float, or boogie, as the whim takes you. Little children giggle and daydream in the waves; plump, happy people stroll around, slowly, with no watches on their wrists, and smile at you in another language. Some days, a Huichol couple sit in front of the store, intent on their beading, which you can purchase for painfully low prices, and bring home some ingenious sunshine-and-flowers to wear on your wrist, or your heart. Go now."

  • We LOVE Casa de Tortugas

"Our family stayed here for a week this past March and we LOVED it. It perfectly suited our needs and was beyond my expectations. The house is a short walk from restaurants, the main beach a small markets where you can buy basic necessities. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and we all had a great time in the pool when we weren't at the beach. We stayed in the La Familia suite. It has a very well stocked kitchen, wifi and great décor. Do yourself a favor and go to Chacala. It is a gem. And when you go, stay at Casa de Tortugas! Can't wait to go back!"

  • Las Palapas ROCKS!!

"WOW!! Where to begin? We booked our stay here because my fiance and I wanted to bring our families down to Mexico for a small, intimate wedding.... We had a total of 17 people and everyone was blown away with every aspect of their stay... The layout of the property is so well done that all guests have privacy and quality accommodations in their casitas.... Plus a great main house for all to enjoy together.... Nydia and her staff prepared wonderful meals the entire time we were there and attended to any and every need that any our guests had.... Paul was a pleasure to work with as well....He arranged a few different excursions for the group and everyone enjoyed chatting with him... The entire staff went above and beyond the call without asking when it came time for our wedding celebration.... It was such a special experience and will always be a special place for us!! The private beach, the numerous water activities, the pool and multiple places to lounge around... This place has it all! We are already planning our return for next year.... You will not be disappointed... Thanks again Bert!"

  • Wonderful experience! Highly recommend to anyone.

"We visited Chacala in order to travel locally and find property to build a winter home. From the first contact, the owner of the Villa Cascada de Flores was warm, welcoming, helpful and a terrific source of information about the area surrounding Chacala. Jill gave us important information that helped us to 1.) enjoy our stay in Chacala and 2.) meet some delightful folks who live in Chacala and form a lively and mutually supportive ex-pat community there. She built her lovely Mexican home in a fitting style for the location, but with attention to the details which support the standard of comfort for the American visitor. Our stay took place over 4 days in September, 2014 (a time notable for it's heat & humidity) and we were very comfortable in our second floor bedroom. The bedroom had a comfortable bed & sofa. It included a kitchenette (refrigerator, gas burners, sink,) a private bathroom and a long, shaded balcony with gorgeous views of the ocean. The air conditioner was a blessing during this period, but I can imagine that in other seasons the tropical breezes would flow through the room. There are other, similarly organized suites in the house, so it would be comfortable for a large family or a set of two or three couples. We shared the large downstairs living room & fully-outfitted kitchen and outdoor patio with her friend who was there watching over the property for the summer. The house sitter was, like Jill, very kind and helpful. There is great internet, phone and TV reception throughout the house. The property manager, Javier, was attentive and the cleaning lady left the place spotless. There is a rooftop patio for all to enjoy, but in the extreme heat of early September, it was not an option for me. The garden is beautifully landscaped, adding to the restful and attractive environment. A washer & dryer on the ground floor was available to us or we were given the option of having the cleaning lady do the laundry. Very convenient. As to Chacala the town, it is the perfect getaway place for families, adventure seekers, seniors - anyone looking to enjoy beautiful scenery, great food and a relaxing beach-side vacation. I hope you will give Chacala a visit and choose Jill's lovely house in which to enjoy it! You won't be disappointed."
