"This is a great condo for a couple or a family: two bedrooms, two baths, well-equipped kitchen, comfortable living room, and a very generous deck with an electric grill. The deck has a table and four chairs as well as two lounges. The condo, which is on the fourth floor, overlooks the large, oval-shaped swimming pool and the yacht harbor. (BTW, there’s also a kiddie pool and a hot tub on the grounds.)
Ralph, the manager, greeted us upon our arrival at the condo and provided info on the condo, restaurants, shopping and so forth. Antonio, the friendly guy at the complex's front gate, will be happy to call a cab for you.
We stayed in Paradise Village Jan 10-16, 2015. Weather was terrific, and the condo was the perfect headquarters for beach-going, buzzing by water taxi into Puerto Vallarta, parasailing, taking a cruise along the inland canals, and especially eating and drinking, of which we did more than we should have. The condo’s location is excellent: close to shopping and a variety of restaurants.
Here’s a rundown on restaurants we tried and approximate walking time from the condo:
El Faro de Tulum: This is at the Paradise Village Hotel and overlooks the beach. Good lunch and breakfast fare: burgers, salads, drinks, etc. About 10 minutes from the condo.
Il Pescatore: Ate here twice, and very good both times. Seafood and Italian are the menu staples. More of a white-table-cloth restaurant, probably not suitable for small kids. Wonderful setting overlooking the marina. About five minutes from the condo. Good idea to get reservations.
Fajita Republic: A very pretty outdoor setting with good food and service. It’s one of those restaurants that, if they could transfer the entire venue to almost any town in the US, would have people lined up around the block. Suitable for kids, although I didn’t see any. About 15 or 20 minutes from the condo.
Cabs: Just walk to the complex’s front gate and ask the attendant (usually Antonio) to hail you a cab. One will be there within a couple of minutes. Taxis within Paradise Village (say to Fajita Republic or the golf course) are only 35 pesos a ride (not including tip).
Shopping: The Sunrise market at the Plaza--a five-minute walk--will satisfy most of your needs. For more serious grocery shopping, take a cab to Walmart.
Money exchange: There are two ATMs within a couple of minutes of the condo.
You'll have a great time!"
