  • Chef's Paradise, Excellent Bed, and Amazing Views

"Three reasons why we return year after year to this particular condo: 1. WELL-EQUIPPED KITCHEN: This kitchen is better equipped than my kitchen at home. I really appreciate that because I have more time to experiment with cooking when I’m on vacation. We made use of the blender, juicer, food processor, barbecue grill and pressure cooker this time around, and we were successful at guava agua fresca, flan, tropical smoothies and multiple variations of mango salsa and guacamole. 2. EXCELLENT BED: The bed in the master bedroom is extremely comfortable. My husband and I have a hard time finding beds when we travel that are as good as ours at home, so by the time we're headed home, one of us is usually saying, "Good. I'll finally be able to sleep well." But this bed is even better than ours, and we feel so rested the entire vacation. We slept with the sliding door wide open so we can hear the waves crash all night long. Wonderful! 2. AMAZING SUNRISE: The sunrise is amazing. This condo is on the seventh floor and has an unparalleled panoramic view to the east as well as the west. Some mornings we had our breakfast on the eastern deck to watch the sun rise over the misty Sierra Madre mountains with the jungle spread out before us. Because this building is the last condo tower on the north end of Nuevo Vallarta (before Flamingos towers begin half a mile away), I never felt surrounded by towers or people. So peaceful. And what a bonus to see the pelicans and frigate birds soar right at eye level past our shoreside balcony! I have returned to this condo three times now and am finally writing a review. The location of this condo is perfection and the owner clearly pays attention to details; as do the maintenance staff and security guards of the entire complex. I always feel very safe and well taken care of. Thank you for another great stay!"

  • Wonderful family vacation!!

"This was the second time that we've visited the Grand Mayan in Nueva Vallarta, Mexico. It is my father-in-law's 90th birthday this year, so we wanted to do something special for him. Everything was perfect. Nice restaurants with excellent food. A wonderful Mexican fiesta on the grounds. La Plaza was a nice addition since our last stay - grocery store, boutique, bistro - all in one place. Service was fantastic! We even scheduled a massage for all six of us at the Spa - the first one my in-laws had ever had and they were in heaven!! Love it!"

  • Christmas in Mexico

"Our family and my parents had a tremendous 11 days stay over Christmas. Might be the best vacation ever! The accommodations were comfortable, clean and relaxing. Onsite manager was nice and owners very accommodating. Plenty of room for everyone to have their space. I'm writing this as I plan my next stay. If you like fishing go to Las Cruz to the harbor. $100 bucks get you in the fish and a day on the water. Buy fresh catch daily form the vendors at the dock. 1 buck small bus ride from Mega Store. 60 pesos for cab returning from Mega on food and beverage run. 15 pesos bus ride into Puerto Vallarta. If you are not challenged by cooking for yourself you will love this place. What you have in your frig is what you have to eat. We filled ours up with great meals. You'll have fun and find your own adventures."

  • Hola Amigos!

"From the moment you exit your taxi and every time you pass by a bellman, the front desk, wait staff or gardener you are greeted with a warm smile and a sincere greeting. Yes, La Estancia is exquisite, but the staff made the difference for us. You can choose to remain on a large veranda watching Frigate birds soar, squadrons of pelicans fly by in perfect formation, listen to children squeal as an iguana swims across one of 4 terraced pools or just watch the parade of folk. A fully equipped kitchen will stimulate you to walk the mile to a Mega Supermarket and use a taxi to bring back the foodstuffs. Taxi's are on call at La Estancia and waiting at the Mega store. Fees are set depending on the district you're asking them to drive. You're not a captive at this hotel. And then there's the nearby town of Bucerias, a true Mexican town with small restaurants offering delicious meals. Trust the owners to recommend a list. We did. We tried several and loved the experience. Or you can walk next door to a sister hotel for fish tacos and decide if you have the courage to paraglide, paddle board, kayak, jet ski, or have a margarita and wait for another stunning sunset. We recommend you return to your room, use the avocados you bought at the market to make guacamole, mix the drinks to match your needs, grab your camera and settle on the veranda. Your friends will never believe the photos you took were not enhanced by PhotoShop. Our 2 grandchildren came for a portion of the time and loved the pools and the surf, the sand and the hamburgers at the pool-side cafe. The condo has a full sized washer/dryer which became indispensable, and the 4 and 7 year olds quickly learned to say "Hola" to staff and guests alike. Residing on the 5th floor, this condo delivers a veranda view that spans the master bedroom, the great room, and the second bedroom. Sumptuous in its furnishings, it's incredibly spacious offering cable TV in each of the 3 areas. Side note: We never turned on a TV. The owners also provided a WiFi hot spot in their condo which saved our holiday for everyone under 40 years. Yes! We want to return."
