  • WOW!

"We hadn’t been to Punta Mita in many years but were looking forward to a trip back. Boy were we in for a pleasant surprise! Let’s start with the condo. The location was perfect. It is beautifully decorated with high end fabrics and furnishings yet you never get that “don’t touch” feeling. It’s very comfortable. Being on the ground floor was also ideal. Your private chaises and patio are poolside and it is easy to run back inside for a drink or snack refill. The ocean is just beyond. The kitchen is outfitted perfectly with everything you could possibly need. Very modern and clean. There is a walk in pantry area and laundry room. The great room is large and well set up with an area with coffee table and couches, a large dining table, a very large bar with icemaker, and a game table, the powder room is just off this room. There are lots of games, books and magazines. We loved that we could hook up our devices and hear our playlists. A really nice feature was the Vonage phone. Boy did that come in handy! There are 3 bedrooms as the media room has two beds in it now. There is a large flat screen in the living room and another in the master bedroom. The master bedroom is definitely the larger and has a fabulous view of the pool and beach. There is truly nothing not to like and everything to love at this condo. Three of us went surfing by ponga with a guide. They know just where to go when. Johnny at Accion Tropical was wonderful. We also went up to the St Regis to the spa (excellent masseuses) and had dinner there one night. That was delicious too. You can rent a car from National Car Rental by the day. That’s what we did when we wanted to go to other towns. Things I would have done differently: I should have packed lighter. I was having too much fun to read as much and I didn’t need the games I packed. We stopped at the store on the way in and bought too much food. The restaurants in the little town are REALLY good, Si Senor, Si Sushi, The Blue Shrimp and others. We walked up the beach to these restaurants for both lunch and dinner most days. Brought some surf shoes. The bay has rocks at the shoreline (all along the coast, not just in front of the condo.) Stayed longer than 8 nights! Like everyone else we were planning our return trip before we even left! We even spoke to the fabulous Fabrizio about it!"

  • Valentine's retreat

"My fiancé and I went to stay at the Studios Mar and were blown away at how secluded and gorgeous the beach was out front. If you want the ocean view, smell and experience you cannot find a closer room in Punta Mita. The waves were so relaxing just out front. Sergio was such a helpful and gracious host from the moment we arrived until the moment we left. Alfredo (taxi driver) was always there within 5 minutes notice. Take whatever drinks and provisions prior to arrival as there is not a close place to get a drink or any food."

  • Casa Litibu...Luxurious vacation in a small town on a private locals only beach

"We spent 2 weeks over the Christmas Holiday at Casa Litibu. It was the best way to spend Christmas and New Years. The owner, Bonnie, was very easy to work with. She was so patient with quickly answering every question that I had. When we finally arrived we were surprised with how stunning the house was. The pictures do not do the house and surrounding area any justice. The quaint town was teaming with friendly residents. When we arrived the house manager, Ricardo, was there to greet us. I cannot say enough about how helpful and kind he and his wife are. He was so helpful with answering our questions about the surrounding area. He helped us set up horse back riding trips and a boat trip to Marietas Island. During our boat trip with Jose, we had several sightings of whales and dolphins that jumped out of the water so closely to our boat. It was amazing and did not disappoint! It was the closest I had been to either one of those majestic animals. I had prearranged with Bonnie to have Ricardo's wife make us several dinners while we were there. This is a must! She is an amazing cook. She made us chilli relleno on our 1st night, red mole with chicken on Christmas Eve, and chicken enchiladas on New Years Eve...OMG! I would recommend them all. It was not much more expensive than having a meal out and it was in the comfort of the beautiful house on the deck at sunset with the sound of the waves on beach just steps away. It was magical. During our stay we also had Graciela and Luis from Nirvana spa in Sayulita come to the home to give massages. This is also another must! We had them set up under the 3rd floor palapa. It was very affordable and completely worth it to make the trip feel that much more luxurious. There is a fisherman named Raphael who sells fish and seafood right on the beach that he caught that same day. Wow! Talk about fresh and delicious. He sells it just a few steps down the beach from the house. We hardly had to leave the town to go shopping because all of the simple ingredients needed to make meals were right there in Higuera Blanca. It's easy to make things taste great when they are that fresh. I would suggest renting a vehicle while there. The surrounding towns are worth the visit. Our favourite was San Pancho. A vehicle is also needed to run into the town of Higuera Blanca. You can walk but it will take you at least 30 minutes to get to there. The town of Higuera Blanca and area of Playa Llitibu are very small. If you are looking for"

  • Punta Mita no waves but the best "surf trip" ever

"We stayed in the Condo for a week hoping to surf pretty much all day every day. The only problem was...... it was flat and 20 beginners on longboards and over-enthusiastic locals fighting for a single wave at La Lancha was not my idea of a surf paradise. That said, everything else was close to perfect and we will come back in the knowledge that a week without swell is very unusual. Our three year old loved the pool and the condo was both kid friendly and kid safe which was a plus. The views were stunning and we were very comfortable using the fully equipped kitchen etc. Another plus was that everything worked well from the showers to the cupboard doors, a sign of good property management and quality construction. The neighborhood was also nice and quiet and very safe. We walked into the back streets several times to buy fresh fish from Monica and to take the short-cut to the supermarket and were greeted with smiles and waves from all the locals we met. Restaurants on the "strip" were also pretty good. We'd recommend Margaritas as the best value. Service is pretty slow in the restaurant across the street, but they do allow you to order and then "take out" and the food is OK for a take-out. Donna and Lety were a pleasure to deal with and both were friendly and responsive throughout the booking process. We took a private tour to the Marietas twice and would recommend Daniel. We'd also suggest heading out in the late afternoon to avoid the Puerto Vallarta booze boats and their drunken clientele. We will definitely return to Punta Mita and although there are definitely more expensive options the incremental cost to stay at the 4 Seasons is just not worth it because everything you need is available at El Farol 2."
