  • Casa Blanca in Lo De Marcos

"We loved it! Our three 20+ year olds thought it was the nicest place we have ever stayed. The house and its layout is perfect for playing cards and games or billiards, or hiding in a corner alone and reading a book while others were playing. It is an easy 5 minute walk to a wonderful, mellow beach where there are a couple restaurants. We surfed and boogie boarded and lounged on the beach. It is maybe 15 minutes walk into town where there are some really delicious and inexpensive places to eat. Locals were nice and very friendly to us. The pool and hot tub were great but the beautiful view from Casa Blanca is its greatest asset, and all the windows capitalize on the view. Bill and Mary were very helpful and available for any questions we had. It was helpful to have a car to explore other areas, but not necessary. You should go!"

  • for the full cultural experience of a small Mexican beach town

"Agree with all below about the casa, very large, numerous wonderful places to relax, hang out. Bring some books, games & movies. I'd caution for older folks the walk from the beach is a good 15 minutes easy. A 2012 review mentions option of a bus, we didn't see one in 2014. However after you leave the beach and walk through the town and the humidity gets you, then you arrive back home and jump in the pool. It was perfect to cool us down and beat the afternoon humidity. Then we'd spend the afternoon lounging and reading. The garden is lush and beautiful. The neighborhood is not quiet, be ready for roosters waking you up, the fruitas y pan y gas trucks and every other kind of truck up and down the street all day selling stuff. I felt like we got a real slice of life I just wouldn't want anyone to come here seeking quiet. Its a real town and if you are up for it its a great house. Wish we'd explored the Cultural Center more, it was often closed in the day as we went by. Adjust your time schedule because many things only come to life much later in the evening. The beach was so great, waaaay more low key than Sayulita which was a tourist trap with vendors soliciting you to buy something every 2 minutes. Pull up a chaise, they will bring you a Cerveza, enjoy the sunset. When you want excitement Sayulita was a fun 20 minute bus ride away. Plenty of expats on the bus to help make sure you get on the right one. No need for a car at all. All in all a really great experience for our family."

  • Wonderful

"We spent 10 wonderful days at Casa de La Paz. The house is beautiful, well maintained, and fully stocked with everything you will need. The local property managers were so nice, and readily available and responsive to our needs. Should we ever return to San Pancho we will do our best to plan our trip around the availability of this house."

  • Awesome

"A great place for a group getaway. The location is remote which makes Villa Violeta special and fun if the desire is to avoid throngs of other vacationers, but one must take this fact into consideration and understand that access/communication to outside world is very limited. If spotty wireless and cell reception is forgivable, I would highly recommend staying here. Even for a large group, the property and accommodations are fairly spacious and the staff did a great job keeping the place clean. Our staff was wonderful to work with - the prepared meals were very well done (we did not have any specific requests or major food allergies, so the fare was all mexican-based) and they were willing to provide our requests when given a few hours of lead time. The beach and pool are right at your fingertips and were great places for our large group to congregate, have fun, and relax. Our group came into the experience not knowing what to expect, and everyone left having had a phenomenal experience. Also, we initially thought we would be spending more time going on excursions outside of the premise (zip-lining, golf, hiking, etc.). However, leaving the property was much more difficult than expected, but this did not pose any problems as we had plenty of fun enjoying the weather, the beach, and the property, and only left once for a day-long boat excursion. I would definitely consider planning a return trip to Villa Violeta - we had a blast!"
