  • A week at Casa de las Estrellas

"This is a wonderfully laid out house only 5 stairs from the beach. The upstairs bedrooms are large and beautiful with large sliding glass doors and balconies that have unobstructed views of the Pacific. The beds are large and firm (mattress on concrete) but are quite comfortable. All four bathrooms have walk-in showers. The kitchen has adequate utensils, fridge, micro, gas stove and oven. A 5 gal water dispenser provides purified water. Water is cheap at the local store (El Indio). The living area has a large table and chairs as well as a sofa and easy chairs. A large glass door leads to a wonderful raised patio area with a small swimming pool and palapa style seating area. It is a great place for afternoon cocktails and evening sunsets. A separate den has two easy chairs and a hide-a-bed sofa. This room also has a small TV with DVD and tape players. (I would recommend sleeping on the air bed as opposed to the hide-a-bed :) ) The house is in a very secluded area since it is at the north end of the beach. You feel like you are in a world of your own. I would recommend having a rental car for transportation into town since it is a walk of about a mile. The walk is pretty easy on the road or on the wet part of the the beach, but carrying groceries back to the house is a real task. Taxis are available and are pretty cheap but not as convenient as your own car. The garage houses a washer and dryer. That allowed us to pack much lighter this year. Maid service cleaned the house and made and/or changed the beds daily except weekends. Since you are on the beach you must deal with tracking in sand tho. There are great places to eat and drink within easy walking distance. Mar Plata is an upscale restaurant with great food and Costa Azul is a few hundred yards down the beach and offers a great swimming pool, drinks and very good food. (Club sandwich is out of this world!) San Pancho is a wonderful town with beautiful, friendly people. It feels comfortable and safe. When we return in a couple of years, Casa de las Estrellas will be our first choice for housing. I believe that anyone would love to stay in this house."

  • Nice little house

"Looked forward to our stay in San Pancho even though we knew we would not be near the beach. The house with its two bedrooms (we only used one) and kitchen/sitting room plus upper palapa deck was more than adequate for our needs. A bit curious not to have a dining table inside. I guess most like to eat on the back patio or up on the deck. We ate on the coffee table a lot. Didn't use the cold water whirlpool except once. But it could be a good cooling off spot. The only aggravation of staying here was the barking dogs. One night one stood outside our gate and barked for 45 minutes at 2 am. Didn't happen every night but about a third of the time. Not sure what the owners could do about this. Would we stay here again if we come back to San Pancho? Maybe. But we would look for other options first."

  • The Perfect Vacation Getaway

"Our family had the pleasure of relaxing at this beautiful, ocean-side paradise for one week. Our stay was perfect in every way. From the gorgeous cliffside panoramic views, to the fabulous meals in the open and spacious kitchen and dining area, we thoroughly enjoyed every moment of our stay. While the pictures on VRBO and the villa's website are beautiful, to see the villa and its surroundings in person is truly stunning. The property is well maintained and functions as described in the listing. There was daily maid service and everyone was incredibly friendly and kind to our family. Manuel, the property manager, met us in town, led us out to the villa (a fabulously bumpy and turning ride through the jungle), and ensured everything was working properly. Our family had no problem settling into a routine of lounging by the pools, walking on the beach, playing in the waves, kayaking, reading, surfing the web and eating. Not to mention margaritas and cervezas with chips and guacamole as the sun is setting into the Pacific- Spectacular! We did hire a cook for breakfast and lunch. She was wonderful and prepared excellent meals with fresh squeezed orange juice, banana smoothies, guacamole, salsas and... so much more. Every meal was beautifully prepared and my only complaint was there was too much. She spoke no English but we were able to get by with rudimentary Spanish and an online translator. If we had to do it over, we would probably opt for only one meal; the young adults in our group would vote for lunch so they could sleep in, and forage in the kitchen for the other meal. The kitchen is well equipped and groceries can be purchased in San Pancho or Bucerias. We ate all of our dinners in San Pancho and the choices are outstanding -- especially for such a small town. Our favorites are Maria's, La Ola Rica, Bistro Organico and Mar Platta; each is unique and worth multiple visits. Sayulita is definitely worth a visit; more bustling and lively than sleepy little San Pancho. You will need a car rental to get around the area. My recommendation is Gecko Car Rental. The prices are reasonable, the owners (Adam, Dennis, Laslo) are knowledgeable, and there are no hassles (no time share pitches). I would not rent a vehicle in the Puerto Vallarta area from anyone else. If we are going back to the San Pancho area (it is one of our favorite relaxing destinations) with a large group, we would not hesitate to stay again at the Villa Clavellinas. It was perfect."

  • 5 day get away

"Aces all the way!! From Beto picking us up at the airport, followed up with a customized margarita making lesson upon entering this immaculate home (casa), to departing back to home. This home provided extremely comfortable accommodations for our group of 3 couples with more bedrooms to spare. The master bedroom/bathroom is 5 star, with the rest of the home designed to compliment. The kitchen, pool, upper deck, and living room provided comfortable areas to socialize, relax, and most importantly.....Internet access to check your email. The restaurants in San Pancho are excellent!! Just a few minutes walk from this house provided multiple food options, we experienced as many as we could. From breakfast, to lunch and dinner, all of them were superb!! Several times throughout our stay, we also picked up some local fruits and vegetables to make our own chips and salsas or guacamole while lounging around the pool. We'll be back for sure! Thank you Beto and Sandra!!"
