  • Casa Mural Exceeds Expectations

"Thanks, Steve. Casa Mural far exceeded our expectations as did Jorge. We ran into him out on the town or the beach almost daily and he always wanted to know how things were going and whether we needed anything. We never did - your charming house had everything that was needed and more. There were six of us: two middle aged couples, a middle single man, and two teenage boys. There was plenty of room for everyone to have their own space and three bathrooms assured that the start and end of every day was smooth. By far, the most popular room in the house is the back yard. Beautiful jungle sanctuary. An activity that was surprisingly popular with my teenage boys whom i expected to be pretty focused on bikinis was going to the turtle reserve and helping shephard the little turtles out to sea. They are still talking about it and took more pictures of that than anything else. We LOVED going to Playa los Muertos for quiet swimming without surfers. Having vendors there with cold beer and shrimp and tuna on a stick is a tremendous bonus! Stopping off at the Hotel Amor for a granola/yogurt fruit plate, coming or going, made us feel wealthy. Watching the pelicans and the terns hunt just off the hotel patio is the best show in town. Sadly, the restaurant just across the street, "Margaritas and something-or-other," was not very good at all. I appreciate that you are boosting local players but someone needs to have a candid conversation with the proprietors. They simply cannot hold a candle to any of the curbside vendors and they may want to consider getting into a business that they are more interested in or hire someone who know how to run a restaurant. The location and the ambiance are great but the food is lackluster, overpriced, and very slow to arrive. On a brighter note, a restaurant on the square called "Calypso" (or something like that) had the best chile relleno I have ever had. Very subtle sauce based on paprika, I think. My wife ordered the same dish and echoed my judgement. All in all, a great time was had by all and everyone was enthusiastic about the quality, spaciousness, and charm of Casa Mural. I will check with you FIRST when I return to Sayulita. Thanks for everything."

  • Great private villa

"We stayed at Casa Papa as the last stop on our tour of Riviera Nayarit. It was an amazing retreat with the perfect amount of privacy. We spent alot of time in the pool cooling off enjoying the open floor plan of the first level. We had music on the speakers the whole time. I loved that the living spaces on the first floor were so communal while the 2nd and 3rd floors provided so much privacy. Both bedrooms on the 2nd floor have their own bathroom with gorgeous fixtures and they share a balcony overlooking the pool. The 3rd floor is entirely private and open to the ocean breeze. Each room also has an essential ceiling fan. There are plenty of towels and bed linens as well as an essential washer/dryer. It is located at the end of a road that is a six minute walk to town. The caretakers, Teresa & Jose, were a few houses down and ready to answer our every question (in Spanish). We will definitely stay here again next time in Sayulita!"

  • Great Home

"Great home, located close to town. The decor is a bit of local yet with a funky vibe. It's a little uphill, especially if your are carrying surfboards. The kitchen and living room are great place to relax and easy had to host 6 people. Although it's located on a corner and can be a little busy/noisy during the day, it's fairly quiet at night. Plenty of fans also make it quite tolerable when sleeping and sietsing during the day. Paul the property manager was really easy to get a hold of and very accommodating, definitely one of the better property I have dealt with in Mexico. Also it's quite reasonable for price compared to other places available. i would definitely recommend Rancho Zen to other people."

  • Beautiful & Tranquil

"My husband and I wanted somewhere tropical, beautiful and private to celebrate our 25th anniversary; we could not have found a more ideal spot. After scouring the internet for a new romantic destination, we found Riveria Nayarit and Sayulita. VRBO helped us find Casa Carrictos. First thing - the pictures don't lie. The estate is absoulutely beautiful. Adele and Michael have created a magical place thaf allowed my husband and I a much neeeded place to reconnect and celebrate our special day. The palapa is beautifully furnished and very comfortable. The kitchen has evertything you need to create wonderful meals. The blender got work out every day! We had a personal chef from Sabor Con Magia come in on our anniversary. He created a fantastic meal at sunset. Casa Carrictos provided the perfect setting. The beaches nearby are beautiful and Sayulita was fun. Everyone we met was so friendly. After having a very stressfull year at work, Casa Carricitos provided us a beautiful place for us to relax and enjoy each other - where the only distraction was the beauty surrounding you. We loved the infinity pool thag overlooked the Pacific. Evenings in the palapa watching the beautiful sunsets. Playing cards, dominos, swimming in the moonlight - spending much needed time together. The house is not far from the beaches ( easy drive or short hike). Due to it being the rainy season - we rented a jeep to get around and explore. I would highly recommend - it allow you to explore the area. We used Gecko car rental - highly recommemd. We loved Captain Pablos on the beach - great place to have a beer and enjoy the surfers. The food was execellent too. Ally Cat sailing provided a fun and exciting day on the water - when we come back we will be enjoying that snorkeling and sailing adventure again. The crew was so much fun, the drinks plentiful and the food very, very good. It was the best catamaran sail we have ever been on. My husband said it was the funnest day on the water he has ever had - high praise for a man that owns his own boat. Most of all, we loved the house. It is hard to find the words to describe how beautiful and peacefull it was. Sitting by candlelight, listening to the waves hit the beach below. Waking up to those same sounds. Open air bathrooms - witn incredible views and butterflies flying in an out - what more romantic place can anyone ever look for? Thank you Adele and Michael for sharing your slice of heaven witn us! We will be back."
