Tropical Fortress meets American Living
"My husband and I traveled with 45 other people to Sayulita for my brother's wedding. Once we reserved Casa Papa Charley put us in contact with everyone we needed for the entire trip. The shuttle gave us the opportunity to shop at the mega store on the way to Sayulita. Then Jose Luis greeted us with keys to the house & safe along with fresh made salsa, chips, and 4 ice-cold beers.
For 8 nights, my party of 4 adults and 9 month old used Casa Papa house as a relaxing escape from the festivities, an outdoor fortress to hide from the sun, a play area for toddlers, and a gathering area for homemade dinners followed by 12 person dice games. When we did venture out of Casa Papa we loved the location. On our short walk into town we’d pass by many of the other houses of our friend and family. Casa Papa was the best fit for us. Its filtered water, really cold large refrigerator, American style common areas, soaking pool, ceiling fans above each bed & open air floor plan were the perfect merger of American and Mexican living.
Now, I might have been too positive in this review. The house is by no means perfect. The common areas downstairs could really use a ceiling fan or 2 in and simplification of the light switches. There are like 20 switches clustered all together and I never did learn what goes to what. Lastly the guest bath is under the stairs going from the 2nd to 3rd floor. That means you always have to go upstairs to go to the bathroom. It would have been nicer to have it under the stairs between the 1st and 2nd floor.
With all this said, we saw many other houses that the other wedding guest stayed in. I did not find one that fit my needs better than Casa Papa. If I do return to Sayulita I would stay at Casa Papa or Casa Momento because Charley has a good crew of people to support his 2 rentals."

lovely house and incredible views. Internet is very, very iffy though
"The views from this house are amazing. Having the use of the golf cart completely negates the distance from town so you really have the best of both worlds. The kitchen is well stocked and amazing with the plethora of glasses and cups. Tip: We spent 4 days not realizing we had a key to the laundry room (as the door is kept locked). You should have a key and as such access to the washer/dryer and the guest bathroom. We had been running out the to pool for that bathroom rather than use the master's. The pool was sparkling clean and such a source of delight for all of us.
Another tip: If the casita is lacking a mosquito net, ask the property manager to arrange one. We spent 2 nights getting bit up before deciding to ask for a net. Lastly, if you are planning a working vacation and depend on internet, seriously look elsewhere. I ASSumed that since Internet was advertised it would actually work and it did work for 2 days. I then had to call multiple times a day since apparently the internet for this house comes from a restaurant down the hill. Very Very iffy service. The lack of reliable internet really ruined my vacation since I had to work while the rest of the family played. :) Tip: the bookstore has reliable internet and there is a business in town which offers reliable internet to the other houses in this neighborhood and also provides an office for you to work out of. I really hope the owners either change their listing to reflect the poor state of the internet they "offer" or contract with http://sayulitawifi.com/ to provide reliable internet service. I know, vacation you should vacation, but unfortunately I could not. :) we had a very wide range of ages, from 85 to 50, and everyone had a lovely time."

"We have been to Sayulita a couple of times over the past several years so we were looking for something a little different this time. An acquaintance recommended Casa Estrellita and, after viewing their photos, we decided to go ahead. We were so glad we did! The property was even better in person. Super clean with all the comforts and a fantastic kitchen to cook in! Big windows in every direction with views of the ocean or looking out over the green hills. The owners took great care of us from start to finish and were extremely flexible to help us out with our early arrival. The home itself is a really nice piece of architecture and a standout in the town. The view from the pool is so amazing that we found ourselves drawn to the pool more often than the beach. We will definitely be back for our next visit to Sayulita! Thank you so much!"

"What an awesome time we had in Sayulita! While we spent time at the beach we mostly looked forward to spending time at Casa Mango mostly because of its pool. Wake up, make coffee, jump in pool, read, breakfast, pool, shower and head to town for a while, back to pool, relax & nap, pool, head to town for dinner, pool,etc.. We did like the pool and especially having Santo & Michelle on the property. The nicest folks you'll ever meet. Thank you guys for a very restful and peaceful time. It isn't easy coming up hill so consider renting a golf cart."
