  • Wonderful first stay in Sayulita

"This house is gorgeous and so much bigger than I realized! We had a wonderful first trip to Sayulita, largely due to this house. We loved having all the space. the pool, comfy outdoor spaces, and gorgeous views. We traveled with our 2 year old so we knew we'd have to hyper vigilant about the pool and the upper deck railings but it all worked out fine. If you have a younger, just walking tot, I would say to be aware of the all the hard floors. I was so impressed by all the gorgeous details in the house and it definitely had more staples than I would have expected, making cooking/meal prep at home really easy. The house really is a quick (5-10 min) walk into town and the beach and tons of restaurants/stores. A little harder on the way back uphill, but nothing unmanageable. And as long as we kept all the windows open and ceiling fans on, we were more than comfortable in ~90 degree weather. One thing I'd recommend, given the open windows and the early morning roosters, is bringing along a pair of earplugs. We were also there over a holiday weekend which made for a few festive evenings down in the plaza - great if you want to hear live music from the comfort of your vacation home, not so great at 1am when you want to sleep :) No fault of the house, just be warned if visiting during a busy period. We otherwise loved this place and this town and would go back in a minute. The owner was also very helpful, easy to work with, and quick to respond. Thanks Penelope, Lalo, Carmen and Lety!"

  • Secluded, restful and fun place to stay

"We stayed at Casa Toscana in March 2014 with 2 children aged 4 and 7. The pool was absolutely perfect for them. They shared a generous room with its own balcony and bathroom. We had the even larger master bedroom which I have to say was a lovely room. The mattresses were great, the showers pretty much the best you'll find in mexico (give up on lots of water pressure now LOL). The casa is full of natural light, perfectly appointed (nice cool clay tile floors, tons of wood and tile features etc.) and is the perfect layout for a family of 4 or 5 or two couples. It's quite large, especially when you take into account the outside space. The kitchen is well-stocked for at-home cooking but it's really close to two excellent outdoor restaurants (Pizza Venezia and El Jackal) and not far from the town centre. Just us adults make it in about 7 minutes, with kids make it 15-20 minutes (my kids are wimps!). While we were here we were able to borrow an umbrella and boogie board for the beach which was perect. I can see that this would be a fantastic place to come without kids too, it's very nicely decorated and in a good spot. I think it's really good value for the cost. The owners are really nice and they're close by in case of disasters like losing your key on the beach (we found it, surprisingly!). It's pretty quiet there, much quieter than down by the plaza. The property is up part of the hill (not much of it though), so if you have mobility issues I would recommend renting a car or golfcart. There is no TV, but there is wireless and it's consistent which is nice."

  • Great place and wonderful people!

"We had a delightful time in Sayulita, especially because we had the opportunity to stay at Villa la Buena Vida! Everything was very nice – the unit, the patio area, location. My kids were especially pleased with the pool and spent hours in it every single day we were there. But the best part of staying there was the experience we had spending time with the other guests. All were great people and we had at least four dinners together by the pool and lots of beach outings together. We even went on the Chica Locca as a group (Susan - thanks for recommending them to us)!"

  • Perfect spot, Epic Villas

"Perfect! As other reviewers have written, the photos on this site (though lovely) do not do these villas justice. We knew when we first walked in the door that we made the right choice for our first visit. Opening the doors to the huge terrace brings the beauty of Sayulita bay into your living room. We had many meals on the terrace, spotted whales, and watched beautiful sunsets. The grill was great to have. We grilled fresh fish that we bought at the fishing boats (about 5 minutes away), a great place that was recommended by the manager Jari who gave us lots of other helpful information. North Sayulita Beach is beautiful, as are the other beaches along the mile and a half beach path. Good snorkeling at the beach below the Villas We had a nice breakfast at El Espresso in the plaza We also rented our snorkel gear at the Shops from the Dive Shop. The location and view from the Villas are wonderful and the furnishings are combination Mexican and beach and were all absolutely first class. The linens, towels, pillows EVERYTHING was off the chart. ... they really thought this place through because for us, everything is in the details. Kitchen inside Casa Azul is about as good as it gets in any Million dollar home. I highly recommend staying here if you are in Sayulita. The staff at the Villas is very helpful and all of our interactions with the property manager were great. This was a dream vacation for our family! Adios and see you next year!"
