  • Great Home

"Great home, located close to town. The decor is a bit of local yet with a funky vibe. It's a little uphill, especially if your are carrying surfboards. The kitchen and living room are great place to relax and easy had to host 6 people. Although it's located on a corner and can be a little busy/noisy during the day, it's fairly quiet at night. Plenty of fans also make it quite tolerable when sleeping and sietsing during the day. Paul the property manager was really easy to get a hold of and very accommodating, definitely one of the better property I have dealt with in Mexico. Also it's quite reasonable for price compared to other places available. i would definitely recommend Rancho Zen to other people."

  • one excellent week in Mexico

"I have been travelling to Mexico since 1984.. I really am happy anywhere I stay, as long as I am in Mexico, I can feel at home anywhere. Long before the internet, and when I was much younger, and not so fussy, I would just book , get a taxi to Sayuilita, and then worry about where to stay. Sometimes if I arrived late, I would just get there find a place for a night, and then get up in the morning and search out somewhere that would do for my stay. I have never been fussy, and believe me I have stayed in some really low low budget places and still had great times and have many great memories of those places! Back in the early days you could just show up and come to an agreement as to what you would pay. Deposits and reservations were pretty much unheard of. Usually the places became a five star in my mind. Well, Casa Tranquilo, for me, hit it out of the park!! It touched my heart and soul!! The natural jungle and grounds were the best thing about it. This was my 2nd trip to Sayulita this year and I have to say the most memorable!! The other place I stayed this year was nice, however, this place compelled me to write a review, my first ever! But what made my stay especially awesome was the manager and how helpful they were.. I really cannot say one negative about the place!! I had a fantastic experience, One of, if not, my best time ever I celebrated my Birthday @ Playa Escondido with friends. I held a small Birthday party and anyone that showed up got a good meal... I had a fantastic time"

  • Great location !

"This little house is perfectly situated for access to the beach and the town. It has a beautifully shaded patio with hammocks (wonderful for keeping cool in the heat), and everything required for a great holiday. Although the house has everything needed for cooking and entertaining, we ate out all the time and there are lots of good restaurants nearby ! There is even a French bakery for those who can't live without their morning croissant. Although it is small, the town has many shops, ATMs, live music, a bus service, car and golf car rental, boat trips, horse riding and, of course, everything required for surfing and body boarding. We had a wonderful time."

  • Just what we wanted!

"Our family of 4 (mom, dad, a 12 and 13 year old boy) stayed here over the Christmas week and are ready to head into the new year rested and relaxed. The house is exactly as represented; small, quaint, restful. We made breakfasts at home (everything we needed was easily accessible in town) but left lunches and dinners to the wonderful eateries of Sayulita. We did enjoy happy hour on the roof almost every day: nothing like sipping a couple of beverages while watching the butterflies, hummingbirds, and the neighborhood kids playing ball in the street. Thank goodness for the walk into and out of town or we would have gained 10 lbs each! We could not get over how great the food was at every place we tried. It was easy to arrange all the activities we wanted; snorkeling, surf lessons (and subsequent board rentals) and deep sea fishing and each activity was better than the next. My boys trotted our their middle school Spanish at the markets helped along by all of the wonderful natives. We are not all-inclusive people but rather prefer a view into how others live while still having fun. We got exactly what we wanted. We felt very safe and welcomed at the house and in Sayulita the whole time. And those memories will get us through the cold NJ winter!"
