"This vacation was a once-in-a-lifetime deal for my family and I, so I was really careful about researching the all the available properties first. The house is even better than it looks online. There were nine of us total (four adults, five kids), and despite the ample space, the kiddos all squeezed into the childrens room with the bunkbeds. If it wasn’t for the beach, that kids room with their own TV would have been the highlight of their trip. Lol We spent most of our time on the beach, and it was very relaxing. I’ve never been anywhere that felt so removed from everything. We just unplugged and enjoyed each other. It was peaceful and quiet, we played ping pong and played games with the kids. The house was pristine, and anything we could have possibly wanted was right there already. It was so nice to see everyone laughing and carefree. We’re going to have to make time to visit again. Thank you for the most memorable vacation of our lives!"

"We had a very nice stay at this nicely decorated and furnished house. It is a short walk across the street to the beach. We had what we needed in the house, and especially appreciated the very comfortable beds. The bathrooms were also clean and spacious. The living space is roomy and has lots of natural light. The patio dining area is very pleasant; inside dining space is limited.
We will definitely keep this cute house in mind for future visits."

"I love Las Palomas and thoroughly enjoyed this condo. We hope to be returning soon and will request this unit. It is well decorated and comfortable. It has all of the amenities that one could want, including WiFi. We have stayed in a number of different units and this one was delightful."

Excellent and Wonderful Time -Very Safe and a Great Romantic or Family Destination
"My wife and I both lead hectic business and personal lives (she - surgeon, me high tech management). We also have a rambunctious, bright and ever inquisitive 7 year old daughter. We searched through VRBO to find a suitable and safe place to stay during a long weekend getaway. We came across Peggy's great Casita and after reading a number of reviews about its quaintness and proximity to the beach (right on the sand) and that Las Conchas was a large gated and patrolled community, we elected to go despite much concerns about our safety as expressed by other family members and friends. We chose to listen to some elderly neighbors who have been going to Rocky Point for more than 50 years, "Its safe, clean, fun, and the Mexican's want/need tourist dollars to survive. So booked Peggy's casita and headed south.
Rather than write about the actual condo itself, lots of other reviews about that. I thought it would be helpful to address the safety and logistics for those who may be nervous.
The drive to Rocky Point was without traffic and indeed was very scenic. We like the road less traveled so elected to drive down from Phoenix through Maricopa then over to Gila Bend, then Hwy 85 South through Ajo continuing through Why on down to the border through Organ Pipe National Monument and the last U.S. city Lukeville. A beautiful drive that is highly recommended.
The Mexico border crossing is in Sonotya. There is a border stop. Very informal and relaxed. You do recognize the immediate difference in culture and standard of living. Mexico, at least border towns, is a third world existence. I recommend filling your gas tank in Lukeville, though many have said the gas in Mexico is fine, especially in Rocky Point. The drive from Sonoyta to Rocky Point is a nice and relaxed. Note, the speed limit is in Km/hr so though the numbers sound high, the speed in miles/hr is significantly slower. We obeyed all posted traffic signs.
Las Conchas is on the southern end of Rocky Point. There is a very large sign to turn left as you get well into the the city. Hard to miss. We followed the directions as provided by Peggy and found our way to the Las Conchas community security gate without difficulty. The security personnel were very friendly and helpful. We were issued a pass which we displayed on the dash of our vehicle.
We highly recommend a visit to Rocky Point, a great place to go, and to stay at Peggy's Casita. We had a great time."
