On mainland Northern Mexico, you can find canyons, towering peaks and vast desert landscapes. The Copper Canyon is a world-famous landmark that has numerous trails traversing the area. The northern part of Mexico is also where you will be able to enjoy a more authentic side of Mexico's culture.

Getting to Northern Mexico Condos

The Northern Mexico region encompasses a vast area from the port city of Tampico on the Gulf of Mexico to the city of Tijuana which is found on the border with the U.S. For most places on the Baja California Peninsula, the easiest way to get to your vacation destination is to drive. Most visitors to the region are from Southern California and Arizona. Many of the vacation resort areas are within a day's drive of the border post. There are several smaller airports and if you want to fly in, you will need to route via San Diego or Mexico City. If you are traveling to the mountainous northern region, the nearest international airport can be found in Monterrey. There are frequent flight connections with most of the southern states as well as other major cities in Central America. Once in Northern Mexico, the most convenient way to get around is by hiring a car. Be sure to rent a vehicle that has air conditioning to ensure that your explorations are more enjoyable.

Best Time of Year to Visit Mexico Vacation Rentals

Mexico's climate is hot all year long. The seasons almost seem to glide into one another with the major difference being the level of humidity, the amount of rainfall, and whether it is just hot or very hot. Northern Mexico in particular is a popular vacation destination for those who want to escape from the winter chills further north. Typically, the most popular travel season is between December and April when the temperatures are somewhat milder and the humidity is less intense. However, due to school vacation periods many families travel during the warmer summer months of June, July and August. During this time, you can expect the occasional afternoon thundershowers and high levels of humidity. You also need to be diligent about protecting yourself from the harsh sunlight. Wear a sunhat and apply loads of sunscreen on a regular basis.
