  • Beautiful beach and grounds

"We arrived on a Sunday and stayed in the 1 bed penthouse. Well, it really is not a penthouse but it is on the 7 th floor. Right below the true penthouses. We had a good trip but if you just do some minor helpful info it would have helped us since we were coming from Ohio and never been to Rocky point. 1st- u never emailed directions of where Bella sirenas is located once u get to rky pt. , then it would have been nice to know where to get key. The gate was open and we drove around for 20 minutes and had to ask the workers outside. So, pls tell future visitors they have to check in to Sea Side Rental office! So I guess we should have went thru them. He was very nice and helpful. The condo is very nice but here are a few minor things. No wash cloths for bath or kitchen. No lights that worked on patio at night, no internet or instructions to log in. I did have access to one below where my Sister was staying. No beach towels (hard to fly from ohio and pack towels) although my sisters unit had 4 (thank god). The shower door does not shut (looks broke) and the most thing that meant the most of choosing bella sirenas was the swim up bar and snack bar. CLOSED the whole time we were there! U should have told us! No bar and restaurant on grounds was very inconvenient. We would have spent money every day! Also others were complaining. The only other thing that visiting would be the town needs street lights at the main roads. Dark and no street signs or numbers. Some locals directed us. All in all it was pleasant and had a good time. I guess communication from rocky point travel was the most to complain about. Best restaurants were Chef Mickeys, señor Amigos on malecon, pane vino restaurant. The Caption on the hill was the best view but the food was not so good. We have been all over Mexico making this our 13th trip. We always love Mexico and ever tho I spoke the truth about a couple of things we hope someday to go back to Sandy Beach."

  • This place is fabulous!

"My family and I loved our stay at Casa Tortuga because of the fabulous amenities and great beach access. It's literally on the beach -- three steps down from the beautiful beachfront patio, and your feet are in the sand! This was the easiest vacation we have taken in some time because it required minimal packing since just about everything we needed was provided. There is an open kitchen that supplied us with all of our cooking needs, and the bedrooms and bathrooms were spacious, clean and accommodating. Even leaving was a breeze since there is a provided maid service that does all the cleaning -- all we had to do was pack up, lock up, and leave! The four of us are really looking forward to returning to Casa Tortuga!"

  • John & Michele - Seattle

"All around the best accomodations we've ever had. Virtually perfect in every respect. Never slept better, never felt more at home with the quality of this condo. All that can be said has been said in previous comments about this condo, the complex and beach. Great communications with the owner and Mike/Kim Peters, the property managers. We've already booked again for 2012."

  • Family Spring Break

"This was our second time to Playo Encanto. The house was exactly as described on the website. The beach was beautiful and the house was amazing for a very reasonable rate. We had our 17 year old and 9 year old and they had hours of fun in the beach. We will return and rent this house again for sure. The owners and property manager were both very helpful."

Northern Mexico Travel Tips

Visitors to Northern Mexico Vacation Rentals

Northern Mexico attracts typically two types of travelers. For those looking for beach resorts and warm sunny vacations, there are many excellent resort towns along the coast. Some have a vibrant holiday atmosphere and others are quieter and more secluded. People who explore the mainland region of northern Mexico are more adventurous at heart. The area is remote and has stunning natural scenery. There are many different kinds of adventure activities available for those who want to go exploring. It is a great family destination.

Favorite Activities at Northern Mexico Beach Rentals

Mexico's coastline is a favorite destination for surfers. There are many bays where the swell provides ideal surfing conditions. There are some places where novices can learn but the vast majority of surf spots are more suited to those who have already mastered the art of surfing. There are areas where there is a big shore break and if you are not familiar with the conditions, you can find yourself getting unceremoniously dumped. Sailing, kayaking and Jet Skiing are other popular activities available at the seaside resorts. Particularly along the Baja Peninsula, there are several golf resorts and golf courses where golfing enthusiasts can enjoy 18 holes. On mainland Northern Mexico, you can find canyons, towering peaks and vast desert landscapes. Here you can enjoy a variety of adventure activities including hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding and climbing. The Copper Canyon is a world-famous landmark that has numerous trails traversing the area. The northern part of Mexico is also where you will be able to enjoy a more authentic side of Mexico's culture.

Getting to Northern Mexico Condos

The Northern Mexico region encompasses a vast area from the port city of Tampico on the Gulf of Mexico to the city of Tijuana which is found on the border with the U.S. For most places on the Baja California Peninsula, the easiest way to get to your vacation destination is to drive. Most visitors to the region are from Southern California and Arizona. Many of the vacation resort areas are within a day's drive of the border post. There are several smaller airports and if you want to fly in, you will need to route via San Diego or Mexico City. If you are traveling to the mountainous northern region, the nearest international airport can be found in Monterrey. There are frequent flight connections with most of the southern states as well as other major cities in Central America. Once in Northern Mexico, the most convenient way to get around is by hiring a car. Be sure to rent a vehicle that has air conditioning to ensure that your explorations are more enjoyable.

Best Time of Year to Visit Mexico Vacation Rentals

Mexico's climate is hot all year long. The seasons almost seem to glide into one another with the major difference being the level of humidity, the amount of rainfall, and whether it is just hot or very hot. Northern Mexico in particular is a popular vacation destination for those who want to escape from the winter chills further north. Typically, the most popular travel season is between December and April when the temperatures are somewhat milder and the humidity is less intense. However, due to school vacation periods many families travel during the warmer summer months of June, July and August. During this time, you can expect the occasional afternoon thundershowers and high levels of humidity. You also need to be diligent about protecting yourself from the harsh sunlight. Wear a sunhat and apply loads of sunscreen on a regular basis.
