  • Very Fun

"The only reason I did not give it a 5 star rating is that the master bedroom AC was not working. It was fixed pretty quickly by maintenance and everything else was great."

  • Vacation in the sky, watching pelicans flying by

"The pictures of this condo don't do it justice. It is simply breathtaking. This is indeed a luxury condo, beautifully decorated, equipped with everything you could possibly need or want, in a perfect location with easy access to restaurants and transportation to centro and other parts of Mazatlan. The weather was a perfect 80 degrees (warm for January) with little wind most days, so we were able to enjoy sitting out on the huge terrace overlooking the water, the islands, watching whales, pelicans, dolphins, sailboats, sunset. There were beautiful views of endless beaches and city lights from every room. Ocean Palms has a lovely pool and hot tub, and the long, wide beach is right out front. Often we would walk to restaurants on the beach rather than using the streets. Sometimes neighboring night spots and beach bandas in Mazatlan can get offensively loud, but that was easily overcome by turning on the fabulous sound system and our favorite music at a normal decibel level, or by lowering the storm shutters. The owners thoughtfully labelled all the electrical switches, and provided plenty of paper towels, toilet tissue and other essentials that often aren't provided in a vacation rental. We like to eat in sometimes and the kitchen was fully equipped with every tool and utensil I would use at home-- with the minor exception of a salad spinner ;-) Not complaining, just amazed at how well stocked it is. The beds and furniture were very comfortable. We were lulled to sleep by the waves at night. Huge marble showers and a jacuzzi tub and plenty of fluffy towels added to the feeling of luxury. Communication with the owner and caretakers was excellent, and onsite staff was very helpful and attentive. The condo was spotlessly clean and gleaming and very well maintained. Minor issues we had with wifi connection were quickly attended to. We watched the Super Bowl at the nearby Saloon Sports Bar, which was a lot of fun and had good food, good prices, excellent service. Bloody B's is a new restaurant a short walk from Ocean Palms that has a very good menu and prices. We were glad to be in Mazatlan for First Friday Artwalk downtown. Afterwards, we enjoyed a fantastic gourmet meal, reasonably priced, in a beautiful restaurant, The Water's Edge, located in Olas Altas on Sixto Osuna next to the delightful shop Casa Etnika. We were here for two magical weeks, and it was much too short. We hope to come back for a longer stay. Everything was perfect!"

  • VRBO Properties and Dan Rogers - Job well done!

"Thank you Dan Rogers and VRBO Properties for making our vacation over in Puerto Penasco a wonderful and memorable experience. The property that we rented more than met our expectations and everything that we needed for our vacation was there for us to have or Dan Rogers was able to get it for us – there wasn’t much that Dan had to get for us. We actually took things from our own home, just in case we needed those items, but much to our delight those items (such as kitchen items) were already there for use to use during our week long stay at the VRBO properties. And Dan, you are the best concierge, lol, that I have ever met! Having just been married, Dan Rogers made all the necessary arrangement and made it possible for me and my new bride to enjoy a sunset beachside wedding ceremony. Dan took care of all the arrangements and just told us where to go, who to talk to and it was done. Talk about service. This is one vacation that we will never forget thanks to VRBO Properties and Dan Rogers. We are already planning our next vacation to Puerto and hope to see Dan again. I highly recommend that if you are shopping for a location for your next trip to Puerto that you seriously consider VRBO Properties; you will NOT be disappointment with the location of the properties – feet from the beach; the hospitality – especially Dan Rogers; and of course with the rental rates."

  • RETURNING GUEST 2nd STAY IN 2 MONTHS

"Hey Matt & Julie, I am hooked on Rocky Point and especially your condo I came down in May and stayed in your condo. I had such a great time and experience I had to return for a little longer stay this time and I am glad I did. I just got back from a 4 night stay in your condo and it was just as amazing as I remembered it. I have stayed all over the Las Palomas resort and in many other units and I am so happy to have found your condo because from now on I will plan my trips around the availability of your unit. You will not find a condo with better location in the resort than this unit with huge ground floor patio and such easy access to pool, jacuzzi, beach, pool bar literally steps to all of these. So no more waiting for slow and often times full elevators. The evening sunsets from the patio are just spectacular. The interior of the condo also needs to be mentioned with its top of the line furnishings and décor truly make you feel like you are at a 5 star resort. I cant wait to plan my next trip. Thanks again"

Northern Mexico Travel Tips

Visitors to Northern Mexico Vacation Rentals

Northern Mexico attracts typically two types of travelers. For those looking for beach resorts and warm sunny vacations, there are many excellent resort towns along the coast. Some have a vibrant holiday atmosphere and others are quieter and more secluded. People who explore the mainland region of northern Mexico are more adventurous at heart. The area is remote and has stunning natural scenery. There are many different kinds of adventure activities available for those who want to go exploring. It is a great family destination.

Favorite Activities at Northern Mexico Beach Rentals

Mexico's coastline is a favorite destination for surfers. There are many bays where the swell provides ideal surfing conditions. There are some places where novices can learn but the vast majority of surf spots are more suited to those who have already mastered the art of surfing. There are areas where there is a big shore break and if you are not familiar with the conditions, you can find yourself getting unceremoniously dumped. Sailing, kayaking and Jet Skiing are other popular activities available at the seaside resorts. Particularly along the Baja Peninsula, there are several golf resorts and golf courses where golfing enthusiasts can enjoy 18 holes. On mainland Northern Mexico, you can find canyons, towering peaks and vast desert landscapes. Here you can enjoy a variety of adventure activities including hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding and climbing. The Copper Canyon is a world-famous landmark that has numerous trails traversing the area. The northern part of Mexico is also where you will be able to enjoy a more authentic side of Mexico's culture.

Getting to Northern Mexico Condos

The Northern Mexico region encompasses a vast area from the port city of Tampico on the Gulf of Mexico to the city of Tijuana which is found on the border with the U.S. For most places on the Baja California Peninsula, the easiest way to get to your vacation destination is to drive. Most visitors to the region are from Southern California and Arizona. Many of the vacation resort areas are within a day's drive of the border post. There are several smaller airports and if you want to fly in, you will need to route via San Diego or Mexico City. If you are traveling to the mountainous northern region, the nearest international airport can be found in Monterrey. There are frequent flight connections with most of the southern states as well as other major cities in Central America. Once in Northern Mexico, the most convenient way to get around is by hiring a car. Be sure to rent a vehicle that has air conditioning to ensure that your explorations are more enjoyable.

Best Time of Year to Visit Mexico Vacation Rentals

Mexico's climate is hot all year long. The seasons almost seem to glide into one another with the major difference being the level of humidity, the amount of rainfall, and whether it is just hot or very hot. Northern Mexico in particular is a popular vacation destination for those who want to escape from the winter chills further north. Typically, the most popular travel season is between December and April when the temperatures are somewhat milder and the humidity is less intense. However, due to school vacation periods many families travel during the warmer summer months of June, July and August. During this time, you can expect the occasional afternoon thundershowers and high levels of humidity. You also need to be diligent about protecting yourself from the harsh sunlight. Wear a sunhat and apply loads of sunscreen on a regular basis.
