  • Beautiful house in Oaxaca

"Judith and Sergio's house in San Felipe del Agua was such a treat! It is absolutely gorgeous, just the right size for me and my family (husband and 2 young sons, age 6 months and 4 years). It has everything you need, the kitchen is well-stocked, linens, etc. What we loved the most was the backyard/veranda. Every morning, I would roll out my yoga mat and practice in the morning sun. We were there in October, so the weather was never too hot or too cold (although we did have to use the space heater for 2 nights, but it just made it cozier for us to snuggle up on the couch). The house is really well situated, one street over from where the bus to the center would pick up every 10-15 minutes. Coming back from the center, it would drop us off right in front of the road leading up to the house. Judith and Sergio were really sweet and made sure that we had everything we needed while never being intrusive. Definitely consider this house if you are looking for a long-term rental in Oaxaca."

  • Great place to stay

"We stayed for 10 nights in the second floor 'Otono' apartment. It was super clean and nicely furnished. Although we didn't cook any meals the kitchen appeared to be stocked well enough to do so. Drinking water was provided. It has plenty of natural light and big windows to let a nice breeze in, it never felt hot. The bed was very comfortable and the bedroom has a nice size closet. There was plenty of hot water and good water pressure in the shower. The wifi is fast and has a good signal, the router is right outside the front door. The location is perfect. It is directly across the street from the Iglesia Carmen Alto which made it very easy to tell the taxi driver to take you to the church instead of giving a street address. The only down side was when the stool was flushed there was a sewer odor but we told them about it when we left and they were going to call a plumber so I would assume that is no longer a problem. All in all an excellent value for the money."

  • A better Home away from Home Mexican Retreat

"Charming, comfortable, authentic and soulfull. It is easy to become native by catching the collectivo taxi in the village to take you downtown Oaxaca (40mins). We loved finding our way Mexico style and relied heavily on locals to direct us and help us food shop (We spoke no Spanish). Neighbors, the manager and local staff were warm and friendly. Thanks to Jean & Melinda who live next door. Thanks to other neighbors for including us in their Day of the Dead celebrations and the Bodaga Boys Band for entertaining us around the pool. We enjoyed two meals cooked by local help and enjoyed getting to know everyone in the area.We highly recommend our stay i this area and at the house. Thanks to Adele for making it all so easy."

  • Excellent Option in Oaxaca

"My family and I stayed at this property for one week in April 2014. The house is clean, well-maintained and nicely decorated and the view of the nearby mountains is beautiful. The owners and property manager were very considerate and easy to deal with. We did have a problem with the water supply on the second day, but the property manager came by quickly and got it fixed. The only possible downside I can think of is the distance from the Centro Historico -- about 25-30 minutes by car. This might be inconvenient for a first-time or short-term visitor. For us, though, even this was a plus since we enjoyed being in a semi-rural area with all the sights and sounds of traditional Mexico. In sum, this is an excellent option if you're looking to visit the Oaxaca area."
