"The home is truly pleasant, as are the warm, helpful owners who live in an adjacent home. Our nine-year-old son loved meeting Judith, Sergio and their family and said that he loved staying in the house, because he felt like he was really living in Oaxaca, rather than just visiting. Oaxaca can be hot on summer afternoons and it was fantastic to be able to return to the house for a swim. San Felipe is a nice retreat from the center of Oaxaca and offers its own local amenities, including restaurants, hotels, a market, stores and the Amigos del Sol language school; but it is a short, inexpensive bus or taxi ride to the center. The house also has parking and is perfect for anyone wishing to rent or bring a car during their stay. Oaxaca itself felt very safe and the people reliably honest (for example, we took taxis almost every day, often without establishing the price in advance, and were never overcharged, even in the absence of a meter). This home is a perfect location for anyone seeking the feel of a village with quick access to the city and the photos and information in the website accurately describe the property. I hope I will have the opportunity to return!"

  • Excellent Option in Oaxaca

"My family and I stayed at this property for one week in April 2014. The house is clean, well-maintained and nicely decorated and the view of the nearby mountains is beautiful. The owners and property manager were very considerate and easy to deal with. We did have a problem with the water supply on the second day, but the property manager came by quickly and got it fixed. The only possible downside I can think of is the distance from the Centro Historico -- about 25-30 minutes by car. This might be inconvenient for a first-time or short-term visitor. For us, though, even this was a plus since we enjoyed being in a semi-rural area with all the sights and sounds of traditional Mexico. In sum, this is an excellent option if you're looking to visit the Oaxaca area."

  • Cozy and Safe

"Three of stayed in this rental until July 31st. Property very clean and well maintained. Photos do not do it justice. Extremely bright inside and out and very safe. Location perfect for us. Very peaceful. Loved the smell of jasmine coming in through the open kitchen sliding windows as we washed dishes. Especially loved the floor to ceiling window that lit up at night to showcase beautiful foliage. Barry the owner a wealth of information and the cleaning woman an EXCELLENT cook. I will be recommending this rental to family and friends traveling to Oaxaca. My teenage daughter says she felt and home and had the best vacation ever!"

  • Perfection. Location, Peace, Beauty, Service.

"Our family used three of the units - The Aguacate Casita, the Villa del Sol and the additional Acroiris room. All three were immaculate, with comfortable beds and and lovely decor. The entire villa is cleaned daily, but not intrusively. I stayed on after my family left, and as a woman alone in her 60's felt completely safe. I did like the extra sense of security I felt over renting an apartment. The location is ideal. Everything I needed was within walking distance. I took classes at Español Interactivo and it was a 10 minute walk. I would also recommend the school, for those who want to learn by speaking. The teachers have great patience for those like me who sound as if they are speaking with marbles in their mouths. The owner of the villa, Mary Jane, made our stay absolutely perfect. I am already planning a return in October."
